Actually, 'action' means shaking, movement, up and down, etc.. A smooth 'stabilizer' will kill those feature.. Too smooth stabilizer is not a realism..

I like the GoPro but don't know how you got over two hours on it when I can't even get one hour even with many features off like voice commands.
They both looked jerky and washed out on the action challenge. You sure they were on the right settings?
