Now thats an interesting camera!! I just wish it had an external mic support. As I've read, only brave 6 plus gets external mic support. Can you put it up against Akaso V50PRO SE.

Im a bit late but , but l have the 7... you cannot have image stabalisation on in any mode when the fish eye correction is on .. The 4k with I.S on is cropped and then resampled back up to 4k .. 2k60 is the highest setting that supports I.S native. If you view through the camera app you can see all this happening in realtime as you alter settings (there is no access to IS or lens correction in the app though..you have to disconnect to alter these settings ..(all smoke and mirrors)
The lighting inside is better than the other Akaso you've showed. I think I just found my new action cam. Ordering a Brave 4 for an everyday dashcam setup. It's $93cad
Hey Cruisn I purchased the Akao V50x on your recommendation and it's been a great Camera. Looking at adding a second camera and am considering the Brave 7 LE . Use the V50x mainly for off road Motorcycling so the 4k 30fps and the image stabilization of the V50x is most important. Aside from the obvious addition of the waterproofing re there any other upgrades/downgrades from the V50x to the Brave 7 LE? Thanks!
year later, i paid 139 on amazon. was going to get a gopro but want to do more research so i got this as a learning tool for vlogging and diving. I really thought it would have an external mic adapter because it had about everything else.. guess not.. that is a bummer. thanks for your review. made me feel better about my purchase.
Bit at 127 for the 7LE with the water housing and mounts, pricing didn't drop much over time. Adding it to the EK7000, which seemed to have some bugs in the firmware, and I could see the advantage for stabilization in walking scenery and underwater shots. For selfie shots it seems stabilization doesn't help.
Sounds like a keeper ! I am looking for an action cam for my moto vlog but with this price point I may get two ! Just need to see your review about external mic
So ill get right to the point. Doesnt look like it has any external mic support. If you are looking at a camera for motovlogging then the Brave 6 Plus is the one from Akaso that I would recommend... For now.
If that’s the case you’re right mainly because the Brave 6 plus has the same stabilization firmware (2.0 6 axis) It is an a shame that Akaso did great job with the 7 LE but only went 90% of the way. An external mic option or input is a must if you ask me. Keep the rubber side down my friend
I had one for 3 days and sent it back. I went through all the settings to see if it held up to me doing my usual videos and it went back for a full refund. I've had an Osmo Action for 3 days and love it. It will more than likely replace 2 GPH8B
That's unfortunate. I've had pretty much used all the current Akaso lineup and the only one that I had issues with was the V50 Elite. If you can afford a GoPro, OSMO or Insta360 style camera then you should do that, as they are definitely higher quality cameras. But if on a budget, for most, these do just fine. At least that's my experience.

the camera itself works pretty well for motovlogging, but since the LE has no external mic support I would look elsewhere. The Brave 6 Plus and 7 have external mic support which is kind of important for motovlogging.
Great review sir.. I had same review but an additional minor issue that you should watch before you decide to buy this action cam. May be it was an isolated case cause I didnt seen same issue from others.
you are one of the people that claims the sound quality in the videos is good. It sounds a bit muffled in these reviews with some reviewers, especially an Asian woman that does good video reviews also here on TH-cam of this camera. I keep moving up up up in numbers finding better and better cameras. Is there a difference between the Braves 7 LE that first came out, and is there a different/better/brave 7LE that sells for a little more money on eBay that I should get instead of maybe an older version of the same model? is there a camera made by this company that has a wider field of view?? or maybe which camera has the widest of these akaso cameras? i’m using a prism tube camera on my motorcycle helmet, and a hero three that I’ve had for many years that I’ve used for all my TH-cam channel videos. One or the other .. I use external microphones with the wind sock, mounted in my ear pockets of my helmets for the greatest noise reduction from wind while riding motorcycles.. that is a must, the ability to use the external microphone. I have dozens of pretty good rides on motorcycles that are useless because of the sound quality when I first got into recording rides using just the built-in microphones, dozens of videos, I cannot use. so are there two versions of the same model, camera, and early version that should be avoided? In favor of the later Version with the exact same numbers, model 7LE? thanks i’m relying on your judgment. I almost bought a Fiat 500. I went back three times to the dealer for test rides. But I couldn’t make myself give up having my pick up truck, 4 x 4.. did the akaso brave 6 plus come out after the 7LE? Does the brave 6+ have the ability to accept the external microphone and the tri pod mount screw built into the bottom of the camera? Those are the main things I need, external microphone, stabilization. I never realized how bouncy my videos are until I discovered recently that cameras come with stabilization now.

video wise it works great on the bike, but since it has no external mic support its no good for audio. Its the only real downfall of this camera. Would have been such a great little camera if they would have included mic support!
Hi i brought a AKASO brave 7 le the other day recorded a video which was about 5 minutes long and tried downloading it to my phone via AKASO go app but the download took about 13 minutes to finish? Is this normal, seems like a long time ? Plz help lol
yeah i would have have loved to see usb-c. the Brave 6 Plus has USB-C. Hopefully the next camera has all the boxes checked. Would love to see this build quality with the front screen, USB-C and of course external mic support. And as an added bonus, would love to see it be able to shoot a little bit wider.
Love this camera use it all the time, for hiking ,diving and climbing, best part is there made in the USA 🇺🇸 unlike the overpriced gopro , if I'm going to buy something I like not lining a communists pocket more to be honest .
So you ride a motorcycle and would like your opinion on wind noise since seeing you just walk with it in a mild breeze i can hear quite a bit of wind noise. I have yet to see good camera to mount to the front of a motorcycle that doesn't sound like a hurricane in the wind!

it really depends on if you are going to use this as an actual action cam. If so then get this, but if you are just wanting to use this like a standard camera, get a gimbal.

really depends on if you need the width. The Gopro can shoot much wider. But if the width is fine on the Akaso I would just go with that. The Gopro is a better camera but at 3 times the price, price has to become a part of the thought process.
Its still a great camera, only wait if you need external mic support. My guess is we will see that in an updated version. Or at least thats what im hoping for.

Yeah as of now Amazon Canada does not have it. Spoke with Akaso and they are having problems getting the camera to amazon.ca. Fingers crossed that it ends up there soon.

The video on the face looks jumpy.. The background is stabilised well
Turning off image stabilization seems to help with selfies, if it is considered more important to see the face talking compared to the background.

Sadly this camera does not support an external mic. The new Brace 7 (non LE) will have external mic support. Hopefully coming out soon.

Very good quality but the audio is very bud especially with the motorcycle 😔 I can't find any cure for the wind
All action cameras (without an external mic) will sound like garbage on a motorcycle. Way to much unprotected wind noise.
Sharp footage and good colour, although frame rate looks really low. Don’t think it will be killing Osmo action yet.
could you also do a test against other akaso cameras? put it up against the v50 pro and the v50x
ill put it up agains the V50 Pro but dont have the X so cant test that.

3 feet or 3 meters? have seen several say 10 feet without case.😜
its 3 feet or approx 1 meter as well as only for approx 30mins. Look up what IPX7 is. You'll see a better explanation on IP ratings.

How are you mounting to motorcycle or helmet? I hate the big deep diving case and havent found an alternative.

So you ride a motorcycle and would like your opinion on wind noise since seeing you just walk with it in a mild breeze i can hear quite a bit of wind noise. I have yet to see good camera to mount to the front of a motorcycle that doesn't sound like a hurricane in the wind!

it really depends on if you are going to use this as an actual action cam. If so then get this, but if you are just wanting to use this like a standard camera, get a gimbal.

How do i view my video on a laptop or iphone? I’m new to these little cameras? Do i need to take the memory card out every time?
You can use the Akaso App on your smartphone to view the footage but on a computer you have to import from the SD card.

It definitely is considering its price. Just wish it had external mic support. Maybe in the next version.
Guessing the LE means they want early users to give them feedback so that they can make changes to the future "Plus" edition.

Mine was sent to me directly from Akaso.
It's a good camera, but the stabilization is not as good as the Akaso Brave 6 Plus.
I really didnt find much difference. Akaso states that they both use the same stabilizer system.
Should I wait for this Akaso? I'm a truck driver and I would to put the camera in and out of the truck to record
really depends on if you need the width. The Gopro can shoot much wider. But if the width is fine on the Akaso I would just go with that. The Gopro is a better camera but at 3 times the price, price has to become a part of the thought process.

Its still a great camera, only wait if you need external mic support. My guess is we will see that in an updated version. Or at least thats what im hoping for.

No. The Brave 7 LE has no external mic support. But supposedly the upcoming Brave 7 will.

Yeah as of now Amazon Canada does not have it. Spoke with Akaso and they are having problems getting the camera to amazon.ca. Fingers crossed that it ends up there soon.
