    Are you looking for an effortless way to transfer data from PDFs to Excel? Say goodbye to complicated methods and hello to Power Query's new feature! In this video, we dive into how Power Query transforms the way you import data from PDF to Excel.
    ✨ Key Highlights:
    ▪️ Automatic Refresh Feature: Learn how to maintain dynamic links between your PDF documents and Excel data, ensuring that your information updates automatically.
    ▪️ Real-Life Examples: We walk you through three practical examples, including importing safety reports, financial data from Tesla's quarterly reports, and a manual's table of contents.
    ▪️ Step-by-Step Guide: Follow our simple, clear instructions on using Power Query, from selecting the right data to transforming and cleaning it for your Excel sheets.
    ▪️ Time-Saving Tips: Discover how to bypass traditional, time-consuming methods like copy-pasting and manual formatting.
    In this video we will test the functionality with 3 different business cases. We will first test the automatic refresh in Excel when the content of the PDF changes. In the second example we will import a specific table from a PDF document (Tesla's quarterly financial report). And finally we'll get creative and import the table of contents from a PDF eBook into Excel.
    The new PDF data connector is available as part of a Microsoft 365 subscription

    I'd like to add that if you don't see this functionality in your Excel despite having the latest Office 365 it's because it's only supported in Windows 10. Hence if you're running any other version of Windows you'll need to upgrade to Windows 10 (if your running Windows 7 the upgrade is free). Once you've upgraded to Windows 10, you need to update your Excel version by:
    File --> Account --> Office Updates --> Update Now
    Now this functionality should exist.

    For loading multiple files in one go, I tested Get Data > From File > From Folder, combined the files (Content column) … and it resulted in a query with the data from each of the files (same document structure). 👍💪
    This could be quite convenient to process data in, say, monthly reports, bank statements, etc.

      I suspect that it's because not everyone gets access to these features at the same time. So you watch the video and try to do it, but you can't and then you spend a bunch of time trying to figure out why, to find out that this feature just hasn't been rolled out to everyone yet. I think she is subscribed to the beta testers group, so she gets access to things before the rest of us. I think this is the third or fourth video that I have watched where my version of Excel doesn't have the functionality she is demonstrating. It would be helpful if at the beginning, where she says "this is where the feature is located" if she added something like, "This feature hasn't been added for all users of excel at this time, if you don't see it here, you can't do this yet and there is no way for you to add the feature." It's not a bad video, but people only have so much time, so knowing something like that upfront would be helpful for the less savvy excel users.
      Also some people just dislike stuff and I don't know why. 28 isn't really all that bad.

    Hi, I am not getting “From Pdf” option. How do I enable that option? Please let me knkw

    • @alanmclean1399
      @alanmclean1399 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to be logged in to your Office 365 subscription and open the desktop application (latest version) of MS Excel. Hope that helps

      @@alanmclean1399 I have the same problem. I have tried your suggestion, but it is still not giving me the PDF option. I am from the Netherlands. Could this be a regional thing?

      Same problem here, too.

      @alanmclean1399 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard, I’m in the U.K., so I presume I’d be the same region as you. I can only do it on my personal Office 365 account. My work Microsoft enterprise excel does not work, but the version on excel seems to be older. I don’t know if that is any help.

    Really useful.
    In the content list example, the section numbers in column one need to be text initially, not decimal. Acommon misconception as 2.9 needs to precede 2.10 so 2.1 to 2.9 need to become 2.01, 2.02 etc.
