I really enjoyed your informative video! You might want to consider using the VeryPDF PDF to Excel Converter. This Windows software automatically converts PDF files into Excel spreadsheets and can even combine multiple PDF files into one while preserving formatting.

Thanks for the tutorial. I had to install Office 356 to get more of these options. On my excel sheet - 1. I do not get the Get Data from file - PDF option. 2. The from folder option to a point of Combine and Load says - “We do not recognise the format of your first file. Please filter the list of files so it contains only supported types (Text, CSV, Excel workbooks, etc.) and try again.

This was amazing TY! The pdf I'm working with has paragraph sections for example 1.1 text, 1.2 text, 1.3 text etc that I need to put into a table. This is going to be labor intensive. Your video is brilliant!

Darn it. I have been trying to do this with the project I’m working on. The data is in multiple tables. Each pdf has 7 tables with different kind of data related to the product. Can’t get it to work. Perhaps you could in a future video make an example with importing that many tables into Excel. Thanks

Hi Kevin, wow that was so helpful! What if my multiple pdf files have different tables on different sheets that I need. How do I select those. They have the same table layout but 1 pdf might have a table on 2 different pages and another pdf might just have 1 table that I need. Do you perhaps have a video on that?

Great video and tutorial Kevin. I've just been introduced to this pdf to excel feature and want to use it to grab my monthly bank statements and insert into excel. However, my pdfs usually consist of two pages and 3 or 4 tables. The first one is irrelevant as it consists of my account, name, balances and various notes and comments. The actual data I want is in the other ones. Could you do a demo on how to do something like that?
The idea of automatically adding a new month's worth of data is very exciting.

    >>Dear Cookieman:
    >>I take a number of prescriptions that must be renewed on a regular, NON-synchronized basis (30-60-90 days for the insurers' best price for me, not the retail pharm price and six month limit on standing orders for the pharm).
    >>Although I have a spreadsheet, I still have to count all the pills in each vile -- VERY tedious. Each of us has differing date requirements, too!
    >>Both my doctor and pharmacist need updates and order data, including Rx numbers plus new scrips as the MD issues these new standing orders; he drives the system forward and together we all steer the helm! Doc needs to oversee my use, and Pharm has to comply, presenting a rich minefield of discontented high functioning people.
    >>Going into the Dr.'s pill renewal drop down does not connect all three users with their DEA licenses, much less me, the patient. HELP!
    Respectfully NHG

Does not work with my copy of Excel 365. Data\Get Data\Get Data From File causes Excel to freeze almost from the moment I click on it. I tried clearing the Power Query cache but that didn't help. And in the most recent versions of Excel 365, Microsoft removed the option to disable hardware acceleration, so I can't do that either.

Issue: when I add new responses it changes all the formatting I did on the Excel side. For example I expanded some columns to get it to where the text on the header was wrapped. That is gone when I hit refresh. What am I doing wrong? I am uploading from a CSV file instead of a PDF (it started as a PDF).
