As u huge Lennon fan since early childhood I never liked covers of his songs. Here's a first! I absolutely adore it. It makes me shiver inside! If that's not a sign..!! I only discovered Robben Ford a year ago or so by hearing ' Freedom' at 'Ohne Filter' ..! What a musician!! Just saw him live last week and it was a brilliant gig. Definitely a fan for life now. Long may you live Robben, long may you play!
Thoroughly enjoyed this, Björn and Robben! Only thing is, I had to reverse my headphones to get the instruments on the same side as the performers! ;-)
So... John Lennon writing fantastic things, probably with little knowledge of the _theory_ of what he was doing. (The intro to "Dear Prudence" and the intro to "If I Fell" comes to mind). "Jealous Guy" Covered here by Robben Ford, who started out playing guitar by learning every chord in a thick book of chords. Is dead sure of what he is doing at any moment, plays "inside" and "outside" of any chords/scale/mode with ease etc.. Couldn't think of two more different song writers and musicians, but still this is one of three Beatles/Beatles-members covers that I can really enjoy (the other ones being The Faces cover of this same "Jealous Guy" and _ofcourse_ Joe Cockers "With A Little Help.." at Woodstock!). Just shows it takes all kinds, and the world is better off for it! (Rod Stewart introduced the Faces live cover with " 'ere's one that you really should know - and if you don't know it I really don't know where you've been.." 😊)
Actually, those of you who are putting down his vocals…. He is in fact a really good singer. He uses proper techniques and has his own sound. Pound sand

What a totally cool song to do. As always, Robben infuses his beautiful, unique flavor into this tune. Lennon would be proud.
Björn accompanies him perfectly
Great tunes. Tele & a Super Reverb TONE! Thanks for sharing!

Bob,
The next time you paint your room, be sure to open a few windows.
where the heck is his prs guitar?
lol.
actually i would like to see him with his old fender again.
back to the ohne filter tone.
Great modern version of a John Lennon classic.
Why is he singing? He is a poor singer. It's easily solved, so why do it? Tough on the band.
Don’t enjoy his singing? Easy solve. Don’t listen.
Standing O on that one!
