Yabba Dadda Doo. The magic man doing his thang. Do one better. Try to anticipate the lead, but Robben always surprises me with jazz riffs. Keep doing it pal.
I was at Robben’s gig in London Ronnie Scott’s this year and was lucky enough to chat to him for a bit and asked him about that guitar. He sold it in the mid 90s because he felt it had a strange mid range and wasn’t feeling it anymore.
During one or two of his pandemic live streams from his house in Nashville he was asked about his signature Fender Esprit. He said he quit playing them because the combination of woods made the guitar “too bright.” But now he’s playing a Tele. I agree , the spruce top Japanese Esprit through the Dumble was the “Robben Tone.” Like a true artist he’s moved from one signature sound to another.
Oh, so that's how it's done!
great Master of the Blues and Jazz Mr Robben Ford and Band the Best of the Best 🎸🎸🥁🎹
Holy Sh*t. Robben's phrasing - beyond words ... The true master speaks once more.
Oh man.. Rained-out day one; threatening rain again and he just came out and killed #yeeew
@@hartlandguitars4204 I've been a Robben fan for decades and am still amazed at the sounds he comes up with. Astonishing.
And thanks for posting !
Saw him in Adelaide, amazing talent!
That Sax really filled out the sound 👌

Thanks. I was at the Memo Hall gig last Thursday evening.

I sure miss the sound of the Fender Robben Ford dual humbucker guitar.

That tele is his absolute best sound.
Dumbly Overdrive + humbuckers was his trademark tone. Plus some talent!
@@kidkong637 Lots of talent.
