Yeah, dude drove straight into the tornadic vortex talking like it was fine. Back tf up, guy. The tornado is often far bigger than the condensation cloud
Well, it how they make their money because they take this and send it to noha weather and noha then put it out for us so really your right close but it's there job
You obviously never been in a large tornado their car as you can tell has not fixed to withstand the tornadoes . They will turn right around on a dime. It comes right back at you. These guys are way too close and it has nothing to do with being a Karen. It's about being through these many times and seeing the massive destruction.@somnuswaltz5586
If I may interject, please remember El Reno and don’t get underneath the main circulation… 4:45 you’re clearly too close and if that base descends, you can’t outrun it.
Exactly. I really dislike when storm chasers go so close they are getting hit with debris. These guys get excellent footage but there is absolutely no need to get that close. It makes me not want to watch their otherwise excellent videos. Makes me feel sick with worry. When they were "too close" to get the whole thing in the frame, yeah, way too close. That would be a good time to back up. We have seen many tornadoes change direction suddenly, or put another funnel down right behind storm chasers. Never forget Tim Samaras. He was actually quite careful. In the end it wasnt enough. Don't get too complacent. There are telephoto lenses for a reason. Your footage is just as good when you are a safer distance away as when you get into the edges of it. Great footage, but I almost clicked off in those couple of spots you got too close. Otherwise, some incredible footage here.
Amazing footage, but I found it disheartening the way you Woo-hooed after it hit that house. Someone's home was shredded, and you let out a subdued cheer. The chasers I watched yesterday immediately went to homes to help. Not one celebrated the event, saying it was awesome. You have great footage, but the way the video was edited, it made you appear cold-hearted. I hope it was due to editing, and that wasn't your first response.
I heard it but it didnt sound like he was cheering. He said “wooo” with the same sort of panic as someone saying woah when they’re not sure if they’re going to get hit.
ATTENTION VIEWERS!!! THESE CHASERS ARE DANGEROUSLY INSANE!!! WHEN YOU CAN HEAR DEBRIS HITTING THE VEHICLE, YOU KNOW YOU'RE WAY TOO CLOSE! A TREE OR FENCE POST COULD COME FLYING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD, OR A SATELLITE FUNNEL COULD DROP AND PICK YOUR CAR UP LIKE A HOT WHEELS TOY! SPEAKING AS SOMEONE WHO HAS CHASED TORNADOES MANY TIMES, DO NOT DO THIS STUPID SHIT!!
I agree. This will be one channel not to watch. Speeding up to get as close as possible, for what? Not stopping to help anyone that just got hit....just shows they are in it for the video and not any real help.
There's something wrong here - these people are commenting about houses and barns being destroyed - these are people's homes, lives and livelihoods - I don't hear empathy I only hear comments like they are playing a video game. The amount of obsequiousness in this video is cloyingly suffocating.
Houses and barns---I grew up in farm country. So I was thinking about the cats and dogs, the cattle and horses, the chickens and the pigs...being torn apart, suffocating, pieces of them landing all over the place.
Reading a bit more into something than you need to arent ya? You see something destroyed your first thought isnt “ah the poor person that owns that thing” it’s typically along the lines of “oh that poor thing got destroyed”
I guess it just shows the generation gap. I'm from the post twister early 2000s stock of storm chasers myself. The storm chasing handbook kind of set the tone for what was acceptable and what wasn't. I'm seeing tons of unacceptable chase practices in this video.

Animals getting killed really sucks too. It’s not just humans, so listening to them with all their joy was very irritating. Being in awe of natures power is one thing, not caring about its devastation to life is quite another.
@@slooob23 I didn’t “project malice” whatsoever.! I understand being excited by the power of nature but if you are going to record yourself and put it online you must remember that life is likely being destroyed. Especially with tornadoes. You sound like a modern college age person who grew up self centered with social media as your God and “woke” ideology as your scripture.
Nah these people are annoying and inconsiderate. Trying to turn a profit on mother nature's destruction. I'm sorry california doesn't have tornados go film skid row or some shit losers.
The emotional disconnect to humanity is disturbing. "Oh, poor house. Looks like a nice one." Ho hum, right? People could be getting torn apart and it's like, "Oh, awesome!" Sick.
Didn’t get that impression at all. Nothing she can do to stop it. These tornadoes happen every year in the area. Yes, very sad that people lost everything or died, but it’s the risk you take by living there.
People are supposed to be in storm shelters. Therefore "poor house" can be most appropriate. Also this is a view of an ongoing situation where your own safety is at stake. One cannot be overly empathetic over buildings you know nothing about. Your duty is to report and not have yourself killed plain and simple.
I grew up in this area of the country and moved to the mountains 25 years ago. I DO NOT miss tornado season at all. Prayer and best wishes to all who live in these areas.
"You got that right?" that was someone's FARM you just watched explode. Animals MAY have been in there... chickens ...goats.. sheep. THAT is someone's life ..someone's business.
Yeah, and regardless of him filming it, all of that horrifying shit was still going to happen anyway. Getting over-emotional over eventuality is a really fucking weird thing, man.

It’s essential to be considerate and remember the human cost of such disasters. Thanks for pointing out how important it is to approach these situations with the empathy and respect they deserve.
These people don't seem to care about others nor do they seem to take this seriously. They should not be doing this if they're just going to act like this is a fun joyride. I hope this is the best footage for a long time because everyone, DONT GET THIS CLOSE EVER. DONT RISK IT!!!!!!!!!! SO many people have died that werent even this close. Storm Chasers have died further away from a tornado than that.
I hope everyone in Nebraska to iowa is okay. The tornado was behind my school at one point and it was scary. Prayers to the 3 people injured in Waverly and prayers to everyone else.
“Just took out that house, Wooo” Yeah totally. Someone’s house got torn apart. WOOO. These guys don’t seem to care that people are losing their homes and barns, potentially while still inside.
It’s really disheartening to hear such a reaction. Celebrating the destruction of people’s homes and possibly their lives shows a disturbing lack of empathy. It’s crucial to remember that behind every destroyed building are real people facing immense hardship. Your comment perfectly highlights the need for more compassion and sensitivity in the face of such disasters.
They have good footage, but they are extremely insensitive and somewhat wrong in the head regarding their "woooha its so cooool". This kind of people end up cornered and unsheltered with a skin peeling EF5 on their way. Hope this never happens but its likely.
@Justmeandi19 Definitely some spectacular footage. Maybe when you're recording you can tone your 'glee in the moment' down a bit. If you're going to chase storms, be professional in the creation of your product. Be safe, and I hope debris doesn't smash through your windshield causing property damage or death. Think about it for a minute or two...
What about them? It's not like they can do anything. Do you want to dictate what people are to say and how they should feel or what? There is no point reading so much into that harmless statement. Don't you have better things to do than worry about something so trivial?
Agreed: extraordinary footage and effort; but tone-deaf to those of us who've lived through these and cleaned up afterwards. We're thankful for the survival of our loved ones and ourselves, and for any salvageable property, and I get that a stormchaser's job is to, y'know, chase storms; but try to remember this isn't awesome for the people losing all the things, seen and unseen, being obliterated by this force of nature.
Absolutely, the footage is remarkable, but it’s crucial to balance it with respect for the people and their property affected by these disasters. Acknowledging the human impact while appreciating the footage can create a more compassionate and respectful perspective. Thanks for highlighting the need for that balance!
i don't mean to rude but did you watch this video to see great tornadic activity? Did you see that? Yes, there comments are unsympathetic, but did you get what you came for? I can understand being in this mist of an incredible storm and seeing a house torn to shred with my first thought being "wow look at how that house got ripped up!" and then the next being "I hope those people are okay." I know that they didn't mention people and that they were just worried about getting the shot but that's because they were more concerned about getting this great video of a tornado for you and whoever else clicked on this video to see a great tornado with no initial thought of it ripping up houses leaving people homeless because that's what tornadoes do
@haydenmary4849 storm chasers do the same, but you can actually hear the concern in their voices, the nervousness, empathy. These guys seemed excited. Watch real storm chasers, they don't get excited and thrilled. They are actually concerned. Yes we want to see a massive Tornado but don't act excited watching them destroying homes that could have people inside sheltering in a bathroom, etc. Stop the car and check on people like real chasers.

Please remember everyone reacts differently in intense situations. Personally, I would react very similarly, but I would then have nightmares and constant anxiety for the people affected afterwards. Just because they didn't show the emotions YOU think they should at that exact moment or even what they chose to show in this 6 minute video of an hour plus long journey, doesn't mean they don't care at all. This video isn't about them and how they feel, it's a video about the tornado. Some of the most calm and calculated storm chasers are also the most empathetic and helpful, they'll be the first to jump in and help. But according to y'all, that means absolutely nothing if they don't say or post the right thing in an adrenaline filled moment. It's always people who have never been through anything close that pass judgement and that's much crueler than anything I witnessed in the video.
Stop wanting to dictate how other people should think or feel. Hard to have compassion and empathy with people these days, seeing how academically illiterate and uneducated most people are. Furthermore, whether he has a sense of compassion or not is not going to change the tornado's mind. It has no bearing on reality whatsoever. Stop putting yourself on a moral high ground and instead focus on the things you can actively change. Everything else is pure stupidity.

Many chasers stop and help those affected by tornados on their chase, there have been many cases of chasers saving the lives of people who live in remote places that otherwise had no way of getting to a hospital quickly. Yes, it’s a double edged sword.

Yeah, Reed Trimmer does yell and stuff but he stops the chase and goes to help people that have been hit by a tornado. At least he has compassion for human lives. That fact right there is why he is one of the best chasers. Have some compassion for others!!!!
I understand it's their passion, but their is a big difference when he explains the event, not what destruction it's causing in real time, compared to oh that's was a nice house etc...
I used to dislike reed because of the yelling, but if you really listen to his words it's always informative and descriptive nowadays. The only time he gets "excited" is when he knows everyone is safe and no one is being impacted. Anytime people/property becomes involved you can tell it's mostly worry. Plus like you said, he always stops chase and helps when necessary. I have a lot of respect for him now.
Couldn't agree more. He loves beautiful and strong tornadoes, and that's ok, because he has no co trol over when they appear. But he shows compassion to those who lost everything, amd treats the situation with respect, not "aww, poor house."

And, they seemed to be rooting for the tornado to destroy barns, so I'm guessing they have no concept of the extreme monetary and sentimental value of a barn, home, livestock, or mature trees... or what it's like to try to recover from this devastation. The flying barn roof that made him so happy may have also ruined someone's career or life.

Almost all storm chasers do. These people are the exception. And still, they may have checked after the tornado had passed. With a multi vortex tornado over a mile wide like this, it's best to let the tornado distance itself or dissipate before getting out of your car so you arent hit by debris.
Why they don't stop? They are scared to deal with the aftermath... you know suffering and maybe dead people, these are the same type of people the drive by a bad accident that has happened right in front them on the highway...
Unless they're trained to handle medical situations, they have no business in attempting to do so. You have no idea what injuries the person's are dealing with. It’s a profound reminder of the resilience and strength people need to face such devastating losses. The emotional and practical challenges of starting over are immense. It’s important to support those affected in any way we can and remember the human side of these tragedies. How do you think we can better support and help people during the rebuilding process?
You can't judge them for filming and also watch the video. Judge yourself then
Same with Pecos Hank
Couldn't agree more. He loves beautiful and strong tornadoes, and that's ok, because he has no co trol over when they appear. But he shows compassion to those who lost everything, amd treats the situation with respect, not "aww, poor house."
It's crazy how beautiful and terrifying these are at the same time.
You guys got entirely too up close and personal!

Why would it be better to die at the age of 90 watching TV & shitting in diapers?
4:09 i don't know how people can live a life, build a home above ground, and raise a family in these areas when a MONSTER like this could come and destroy everything in an instant.
Natures true power
This is some of the most beautiful footage i've seen of tornadoes yet but it's so hard to hear juxtaposed against the blasé conversation like "aw, poor house" and "just took out that house, wooo". IDK man. Don't ever forget these are peoples' lives you're watching change.
~~~~~~ 100% mercenary, 0% compassionate ~~~~~~
There appeared to be lights on in the house that had its roof torn off, so someone was at home. I was appalled that this couple watched that WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING whether occupants of that home might need immediate help from the people who were just selfishly driving on by. "Just took out that house. Woooo."
And, they seemed to be rooting for the tornado to destroy barns, so I'm guessing they have no concept of the extreme monetary and sentimental value of a barn, home, livestock, or mature trees... or what it's like to try to recover from this devastation. The flying barn roof that made him so happy may have also ruined someone's career or life.
Well said 👏
One reason why they shouldn't be offering tours.
Actually, really informative about just what a tornado can do. Thank you!
She says "poor house", what about the people inside lady? It's great footage but they seem to want it to do as much damage as possible.
I live in Kansas, and this breaks my heart! My sheep are in the barn, and I parked my truck in there, just in case of hail. We would lose our animals and equipment. It would devastate us.
maybe build an underground shelter for your animals as well if you're living in the area where tornados are likely to occur? crazy thought, right?
gamethatplaysyou who the hell has money for an underground shelter for themselves as well as their fucking farm!? Unbelievable! Farmers aren't rich you know.
@@RunninUpThatHillh building the whole concrete underground shelter of 50m2 (~500ft2) would cost from 9k$, which is less then 1 avg. monthly income of US farmer in 2024. concrete is one of the cheapest materials that provides complete security from tornados, there are other cheaper ways to make a shelter as well, one of which would be using natural soil as walls, so all you'd need to do is make sure the roof is well secured. that cuts the initial estimate down to 6k+. there's a literal ton of information on all of this readily available online and you still choose to be ignorant and opt for "praying it wont hit you" rather then doing something to prevent the damage it can cause. ridiculous logic. you shouldn't keep animals if you cannot vouch for their safety, it common sense.
@@gamethatplaysyou Common sense you say, huh? Think about what @jenniferbell4571 is saying, a barn filled with livestock animals. Not people. ~500ft2 is not a lot of space, roughly about the size of a one-bedroom apartment. 2020 Kansas Report on the state's sheep and goat industry states that average flock sizes in Kansas is approximately 133-145 heads. You think you can cram about 133-145 sheep into a ~500ft2 one-bedroom apartment?
@@greatshaggy7253 by those numbers, you would need approx. 4 times 500ft2 to accommodate 133-145 heads for the duration of the tornado. stretch that over the period of couple of years, you can't convince me it's a luxurious investment if it guarantees the safety of your main income source. more likely people like to take their chances with nature and curse it when it does what statistics said it would in that area.
I guess if I watched a tornado go through a yard and destroy the home I'd pull in to see if anyone was hurt and needed help.
While I understand the awe of witnessing a tornado, coming from a weather nerd, the lack of sympathy for the people’s homes and barns getting destroyed is sickening. There could be people in there, or livestock in the barns. It’s like they’re not even sad about the fact someone could’ve possibly lost their life.
Really???? Poor house? There's people in those houses 😢
If those people in the home give their thoughts and prayers to the magic sky king, they will come out fine.
@@jettsteari3062 that's not the point. It was just insensitive for the lady to just say poor house instead of saying I hope everyone is safe.
"poor house" , "it's only insulation" the video is spectacular but the lack of concern for those possibly affected in those two homes is strange, I only can hope you confirmed all were safe or no one was present and did not elect to include that information in your video.
They don’t care, they just keep driving around like idiots, thinking they’re going to be famous.
Well, send a few bucks in donation to charities helping those hit. Or don't watch the videos making them more profitable.
At the 4:35 mark -> you folks were actually in the outer wind fields of the tornadic circulation. It was this same phenomenon that killed Tim Samaris and his team at the El Reno storm in 2013, when a satellite tornado of the muti-vortex tornado swept their car off the road. Do be careful, but at the same time, amazing shots.
The satellites looked like a carousel at that point. That + its speed + the abrupt turn north + Tim's underpowered rental car killed them.
Don't chase for views. Chase to inform people of the coming danger.
These folks on here look like their chasing for views, likes and shares.
holy shit, the way that subvortex at 2:48 lifted the roof off that barn so specifically... looked like the finger of a hand reaching down to grab and play with it before flicking it into the field. Also, that wide-angle shot at 5:35 just absolutely amazing; looked like the entire wall cloud was damn near on the ground
Years ago, I had a roommate who had relatives in OK. they had a used car lot. A tornado hit one day (no warnings in those days - no weather radar) and they hunkered down in the building on the lot. It passed, the building was damaged but they were all right. A lot of the cars were just gone.
While witnessing a tornado can be something to behold, while you're going "Oooo, wow", bear in mind that there might be a family in that house that just got hit.
I heard it & they did not make that comment in the manner that you assume.
What can they do?
I believe your videos would be better served without audio from you. Maybe a second camera outside the car to capture sound and then edit together. You seem happy when it hits a structure. Maybe call 911 to report the addresses hit so someone can make sure they are alright. Peoples lives are at stake here.
You are getting *WAY* too aggressively close to these tornados like holy fuck dude. I swear storm chasers are getting more insane each year, just because Reed Timmer be driving into tornadoes doesn't mean you should mimic him.
Am I the only one who wonders why many storm chasers don't stop to see if they can be of assistance when they see a house being destroyed. Maybe someone needs help. Maybe the 1st responders are right behind them and more equipment for this. I'm just wondering, not judging.
These people don't seem like the type to help
Almost all storm chasers do. These people are the exception. And still, they may have checked after the tornado had passed. With a multi vortex tornado over a mile wide like this, it's best to let the tornado distance itself or dissipate before getting out of your car so you arent hit by debris.
Why they don't stop? They are scared to deal with the aftermath... you know suffering and maybe dead people, these are the same type of people the drive by a bad accident that has happened right in front them on the highway...
Unless they're trained to handle medical situations, they have no business in attempting to do so. You have no idea what injuries the person's are dealing with. Go dig a person out who has a neck injury, you move them, now they're paralyzed. Great, you just ruined the rest of their life. Way to go. All because you want to play hero..
You all are way too serious about their comments: If these are young people,theyre simply immature. Why judge so harshly and expect more out of them than you should?
I think your video content is amazing. Only one thing as a first responder. I found it slightly distasteful that you said how beautiful that tornado was. As someone who hast to come in after natural disasters they are anything but beautiful, especially when you’re pulling out victims. And I’m sure anybody who’s lost someone to a tornado didn’t find that nice at all. Might want to edit the video and take that part out.😢
