That tactile clicking noise of the paddle shifters is so satisfying!
Sounds cheap to me.
@@wesleywalls7582 it definitely sounds cheesy on camera bc its extremely loud compared to car noise, but i assure you it is something different
@wesleywalls7582 its magnetic paddles. They never sound cheap. Your jealousy is showing...
@@AdhamHossam165 I own a Porsche with PDK, and it doesn’t sound like that…so no, this isn’t about jealousy.
It sounds annoying to me.
The guy at 11:45 with the camera out when you kick it down 3 gears...
4 gears 🤤
Me @13:26 looking out my window to see what's getting delivered. Thanks, binaural audio.
That click from the paddle shifter sounds so good
They only come with the Weissach Package as well so it's like a 40 000 USD option :D They are magnetic like in the race cars.
Drove one, the paddles are so tight, take quite a force to press, have such little travel, felt very satisfying
@@MadeoN yeah they're $150 on eBay lol (for BMW/Audi etc.) AND I am not saying they are the same quality, but sounds like some prime Porsche price gouging to me
@@TenaciousTomato haha well the magnetic paddles comes with the Weissach Pack only so they are just part of the bigger package. The other things you get, as Tedward says in the clip, is the carbon exposed hood, roof, cage, other carbon bits in the interior and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting.. I've driven a 992 RS for around 1000km and the feeling from the paddles with weissach pack is totally different from other Porsche paddles. They are just not bigger in size, it's that they are magnetic which create that really tactile click.
@@MadeoN oh sorry misread, and in the back of my mind I was like no way they are charging that for paddles 😂 but yeah either way they are extremely approachable in the aftermarket and I might have a pair already waiting to get installed 👀
Despite not being broken in, the short shifting on the GT3RS sounds just like revving 99% of sports cars out. What a machine.
Unpopular Opinion: Automatic with paddle shifters are as much fun as manual transmission cars and your not less of a car guy for preferring automatic.
Slamming through the gears on paddle shifters and feeling the gear change kicking your butt is super satisfying and this Porsche is super cool.
andd your wrong
@@bayareaomgnope he’s absolutely correct. Nothing wrong with preferring one or the other.
I can like both Steak and Fish. Two things can be true. Some cars are better with paddles and a PDK, some are better with a good ole fashoned manual. Neither is "wrong".
Automatic with paddle shifters are the way to go. It’s simple and seamless
I don’t care if it’s paddles or stick shift. If I can shift myself, I’m happy.
I paid to race a bunch of cars including a twin turbo 6 hybrid (idk the number) Ferrari, a GT4 RS, GT3, Huracan and R8 to name a few. I will say the Porsche stood out above the rest. The confidence it inspires is insane and just urges you to keep pushing its limits. Particularly the GT4 cause the Mid Engine platform is superior. Not an overrated car at all
GT4 if u r on a budget will get job done on the cheap … agree under radar and doesn’t get the love or respect
man it reaches 60mph way too quickly. i mean you hit it just as you straightened the wheel after pulling out. that is just insane.
2.9 sec 0-60
HEAR ME OUT... I've only got two issues with this car
1- Its IMO too much for a GT3RS in terms of aero. It makes me think the GT2RS is going to look ridiculous. This is what the GT2RS should have had
2- There's too much plastic everywhere. I think there should at lest be some crazy expensive option that would make this car have all the aero bits and pieces made out of carbon fibre that includes both bumpers all the canards and fins etc etc.. Sure it's a lot of carbon fibre but IRL it just ruins the look for me. At LEAST id want the plastic to come in optional glossy black plastic or even making that paint a second colour selection to play with.
lmfao where is the plastic?
pretty sure if you pay porsche handsomely they can paint the plastics for you
@@chiemychiem7533 Everywhere? What question is this? Are we looking at the same car? Wing, Bumpers, Sideskirts, vents, Canards, Defuser... IDK if its mixed with some sort of carbon to make it more stiff it looks like the same mate plastic found in the new Mazda CX-30
@@ShaiyanHossain Yeah but if I'm not mistaken you can only do that via that specific customisation department of Porsche where they will customise basically everything if you pay hundred's of thousands of dollars over sticker price. It's also not a thing they do for every client. It's exclusive to highly prestigious clients. Also I have yet to see a GT3RS that's been customised to the point where all the plastic is painted (Ive only seen one where they paint matched the front bumper). And ive also yet to see a single 992 GT3RS with carbon fibre parts other than the hood, DRS wing and a couple other details
not even in the right tax bracket to even think about one of these but man i love the fender work on these. and of course the dinner table as the wing haha
Taste, has no tax bracket brother
I’m confused as to who is!! I have some friends that have done damn well MBA’s and all and they still can’t even think of buying a car like this. I have to believe the only people buying these are trust fund babies that collect millions a year for doing nothing. That’s probably the only person I know that could afford this car. Someone I know His family owns a large salad dressing bottler and he and all his siblings and cousins collect $3 million a year each for tax purposes.
@@hpkntnw People who own and run successful businesses. It would be very rare for an employee to be able to afford one.
tiktok ruined this car
How ?
Also thats your fault for being on tik tok
i agree. most of the kids that overhype it cant even drive much less drive a gt3rs.
yes but also save your soul and get off tiktok
@@slocarfr i never saw anyone overhype it (dont hang out in tik tok) and Frankly the 992/991 GT3 RS is one of the best supercars/sports cars of those last years
But to be honest for me the ST/R/Touring/Speedster is way better
The best 911s are N/A 911s that are developed by the GT department and dont have wings
@@slocarfrI definitely agree with you but honestly after driving the gt3rs on the track I have to say it’s really not as bad or hard as one may think. It doesn’t have a lot of torque down low and you do have to rev it out to get the power going. Handling was next level though, my brain was telling me slow down while the car was telling me to keep going lol
As usual, great piece. Since you have driven both, I’m curious on your thoughts of how the 911R compares to the 992 GT3 touring. Thanks again for the great video.
Imo the steering wheel, on the fly suspension adjustment is the sickest part. Can't even do that in Gran Turismo.
We are truly in a golden era of sports cars.
There never was an era of sports cars that wasn't golden.
With all of them going to 4 cylinders and electric? I think not
Yep all for the low price of 500K, a car we can all own someday.
Glad GT3 went up in price by 3x-5x depending on region - said no one ever
@@uberalles9797 the 70s, but thats basically it
Sweet jesus!! What a MACHINE!!
Mid porsche tbh, you should review a 2006 subaru tribeca instead :3
hey nice video! I wanted to ask if the sport seats are a better pick then the comfort seats, what do u think? I would like to be able to drive for long hours you know.
Crazy car. I honestly think I'd be scared to drive it because I'd almost be guaranteed to go to jail. No officer, I didn't know I was going 180mph...
Hey tedward! Kind of an odd request but an F chassis 650/640i bmw review would be awesome. Love the vids !
hello and good morning tedward! best Porsche spec
this is a track car that you can daily drive or drive from track to home. gt3 is a daily sports car that you can track. 911 is the best daily drivers car
Definitely not daily drivable, gt3rs is too harsh for the road. Even the GT3 and GT3 Touring lost the daily drivability appeal with the 992 generation, Porsche chasing lap times.
I own a 911 Carrera T 992 generation and I find it funny how much of the interior is just like all the other 992s. Makes me appreciate how Porsche designs things correctly for the base 911 and just builds up from the original concept. The fact that mine has some bits in common with the incredible GT 3 RS is very satisfying.
Porsche engineers have to be aliens
*German space magic*
Just race stuff on road cars. Everyone else has all of this as well
What did they do? There are just sticking a giant wing to generate big down force numbers and that's nothing new.
not sending it to the 9k RPM even when you had the road on the highway section is driving me crazy hahaha i feel the ITCH
Yes. I’m still itchy.
I had the opportunity to drive at an exotic car experience track and tried both a Ferrari 488 Challenge race car and a Porsche 991 GT3 RS and the the GT3 RS sounded ferociously fast out of the corners..crazy car!
Seeing this exact spec in person is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Saw it next to an aventador, would take this 10 times out of 10. Just unreal!!
Incredible Machine
If you want to carry bags, just buy the normal 911 😅
Most of the people buying a GT3 arent using it properly anyway
It’s not a manual, so I’m not gonna buy one! I also don’t have $240,000 but that’s aside the point. /s
Wish it was 240k. Dealers have it going for over 300k+
@@josep4110 customers are forking it out though. Dealers charge what they want- buyers have decide whether that’s worth it. This isn’t a car anyone needs.
Transmission paddles click like a bad video game controller. WRONG transmission!
Paddle shifters sound like the most satisfying mouse
Truly belongs on the track, not on the street. I'd prefer a non GT car for the street. On the track though......not many better options that this or a GT2 rs
You just made that white Subaru driver's week. Lucky them! 😍
The upgraded paddles are only included in the weissach RS
Ohhhhhhh
the definition of blueballing is def owning a gt3rs and having to deal with the break-in period
People on your town must be used to seeing different Porsches driving around often😅
If you ever stop by Chicago, you can drive my 992 GTS with stick. This GT3RS is still the dream though in the future.
AGAIN a pdk/dct or a FAST shifting torque converter auto with paddles is ALWAYS better then a manual for the track
991.2 GT3 RS sounds better and is less twitchy on the front. There is little to no difference in performance on public roads and most slow to medium paced tracks and you have a useable frunk. I'm not sure what the 992 GT3 RS represents, a technical piece showing what can be done, I ditched my allocation and bought a 296 GTB instead. Better bang for buck, more interesting and kept the 991.2 GT3 RS. Win - Win.
with that many weight savings, this one comes with a Bose system😅😅
300k car fkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Of course, US does not need the carbon fiber roll cage because we are good drivers, always keep right except to pass and never get into accidents. Right? RIGHT?
jesus christ. I could never buy something like that for a life on the streets. Just a Carrera with a manual sounds like more fun, albeit at less arrestable speeds. It looks totally ridiculous too.
not at all bashing the car, but it looks totally out of place in a public setting. i love that you review anything and everything, but that thing needs some sponsors and a trailer.
I love this car, but I'd likely chose the GT3 Touring instead as I'd want to daily that engine it as much as humanly possible.
Sounds like a gated flappy paddle 😍
Haha too true
Basically it's a Porsche 911 Type R. All jokes aside that suspension setup is next level. I would love to have that feature.
Driven a GT4rs and GT3, but never the big brother. Is the GT3RS a significant boost in driving dynamics over those two?
Gotta love that huge wing 🔥🔥
I'm not sure about the definition of ' manual '.
You're using the paddles, doesn't that make it manual ? Or is it manual only with a stick ?
Manual usually is when you have a stick and a clutch pedal , the paddle says “manual” because you manually select the gear you want to be , in reality is called semi-automatic
I would just like to point out that the adjustment on the steering for the differential and such on the wheel is designed to be more of a “fine tuneing” feature. meaning u cant go so far out that say if your wife for april fools day takes ur keys without u knowing and just adjusts everything one way that u crash and die as a result of her crime against marriage
I hope this drop to like 300k in 10 or so years
I'm not materialistic or care much about never being able to own some insane car, but seeing this made me sad for the first time. This might be the one I'd choose over everything else if I had the means.
Dude, thats awesome! Could you somehow drive a Trabant one day maybe? I love the Trabant, it’s my dream car (not kidding)
Squeaking steel brakes is something new! Definitely some track pads on them
Can you adopt me Mr.Tedward
$300,000 toy for rich boy.
Awesome video, super detailed commentary. You sound like an engineer!
Thanks! I have a degree in mechanical engineering:)
@@TedwardDrivesOh wow! I've always dreamed of being a mechanical engineer...
Pad shifter noise sounds cheap to me. That ticking noise is just not for this car IMO.
I’d feel absolutely ridiculous street driving this.
Can a 5'3 drive a 992 GT3 RS? please answer this
Glad GT3 went up in price by 3x-5x depending on region - said no one ever

Great car, just wondering do you got some tramlining on this car?
Just way over the top.. Looks like someone modded it themselves
I expect to see this at Sebring. That engine is addictive. Over the top as all Hell and I love it!
I volunteer to help by sitting in the passenger seat!
The clicks tho 💜
I need this car. This comment is me saying I’m going to try and put the work in for one 🫡.
Go out there and get it bro
The cars already made, it’s waiting for you
Ultimate dream car. I'd take this over any supercar.

Drove one briefly on Goldrush. These are special. However, not made for downtown boston roads.
If an armed militia stormed Boston the tanks would fall apart before they took over the city. Nothing is built for Boston roads except for the climbing boots at REI
Neat
Carrera t upload too maybe ??😬
Great video as always man

great vid, love it.
This car is insane!
Those minimalist door straps are a cool lightweight touch.
Yup they’ve been doing this since the air cooled days on RS models

Please review the 911 gt3 touring king
He reviewed a 2018 gt3 touring recently
What a car 😉
Is it only me who thinks the GT3 RS looks overdesigned?
It’s designed for what it’s supposed to do
it's cause it's real racing aero without the livery to match/hide all the angles and edges. look at JGTC cars before they get wrapped in race colors, it's very goofy
never been this early
Incredible video buddy
Waw amazing driving 🚗 😂
Too bad Porsche has started to make the 911 more woke with the latest 2025 update by cowering to the iPad mob crowd, and pissing off purists, by dumping the analogue tach and ignition with a stupid push button.
hello
Doesn't matter how nice it is if you can't buy one, even with cash in hand. Porsche only sells this, lottery style, to customers who buy multiple Porsches a year.
in eu you can go to dealer and buy one
Love your videos! One small suggestion, you need to rev out these cars more in your videos for us to have fun!
As explained in the video this car was not broken in so revs limited. And I redline every car in my videos. Go watch gt3 touring.
wish it had a manual
