You are lucky to have been paired with a great instructor. I did this same course and my instructor was absolutely horrible. They barely knew anything about the vehicles, coud barely explain each segment of the course, and my 90 minutes was basically spent in silence. Looked forward to my only GT porsche experience and was severely disappointed. If you get the chance to do this, grill your instrctor. Dont pay this much money to get a negative experience with an instructor who doesn’t care.
Did you speak to their boss? Porsche is very sensitive to this kind of thing, and they take it very seriously. I'm fortunate be in Atlanta and have had some professional affiliation and association with porsche, and I've never seen them in all the years let something like this go unresolved at one of their experiences or experience centers. I'd even go so far as to say if you didn't speak to this instructor's boss, then the problem wasn't the instructor.
Participated in a Porsche experience Shanghai. I had the exact same issue, where the instructor was not talkative nor made an effort to explain anything. Just gave instructions like a robot. Of course not all of them are like this, some are much more outgoing and happy to teach you.
Simply the most enjoyable car video I’ve ever watched, never driven a performance car, but watching you and this whole video was intoxicating, the instructor was interesting to listen to,
God, what an astonishing opportunity to get to experience the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta via POV video! Getting to virtually sit in the hot seat of both the 911 Turbo S and the GT3, and testing them through the myriad of tracks and pushing them to their limits was simply incredible. This video alone further solidified my interest in owning one of these great feats of engineering one day. Kudos to Chris for being a top notch instructor, as well as you definitely knowing how to toss these beasts around 👌
I just went there and had two experiences booked and both blew me away. My instructor was Chad and he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing! I can’t wait to go back again!
Going to the experience center last year for my birthday single handedly influenced my decision to move to ATL. Doesn't help that I'm able to drive here in under 30 mins lol. Awesome vid, turbo s fuckin rips!
I did the Porsche experience at Barber Motorsports park in Birmingham- was so amazing! I couldn’t believe how much harder the Turbo was to drive on track vs the GTS. The extra 300 lbs makes a big difference.
super cool and thanks for sharing from POV! I wanted to do this combo event with both tracks so badly and now you made it look even better. Only downside i think is that you got the golden treatment with the invite. I think paying customers get a much shorter experience and I don;t think they let people keep trying the course over and over like you got to. If this video was representative of actual customer experience i would be signing up ASAP! Either way fun to watch and impressive skills man!
I don’t own a Porsche just yet, but driven some back in the 90’s. I really enjoyed the whole video and impressed with both the driver and the instructor with their experience. Porsche for the win!!!
Unless you’re racing competitively, the faster shift time doesn’t matter more than what makes the car fun for you to drive and nothing is more fun than manual.
@@A1waysSo2 im 100% sure it's great but there's no storage room, it's uncomfortable for longer Trips and it's generally just built for the track, not the road
AWESOME Video!!! Curious - what would be the normal cost for this experience....in one and two cars. Did you eat at the resturant? Ever been to the LA experience location? cuirous on the differences. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated!!!
That’s fascinating. I’ve also noticed the same issues with my Turbo S and GT3. I have a Touring so maybe if I had the non Touring with the wing, it might help more with the downforce. Although I must admit I prefer my Huracan STO over both of these on the track. (Wakes up and realizes I need to stop day drinking) Thanks for the great video though. Still appreciate it even though I’ve only seen these cars drive by in West LA.
"The Turbo S is PDK standard, because they couldn't find a clutch that would take all that torque." Um...the PDK has clutches, and they take all that torque. And Porsche doesn't look around trying to "find" clutches...they can engineer their own clutches if they want to. And clutches can be engineered to take as much torque as you specify, although of course they'll get bigger and heavier. I love the PDK myself. It alone has ripped me away from being a strictly manual guy. But to say that's the reason is malarkey.
That’s a proper Porsche experience. Just amazing !!! Please tell European Porsche to open their minds and do the same. European Porsche just make driving in circuit and that’s it, without the Porsche guy inside the car.
I really do not get this hype around the GT3.....It is good to make track times, but in terms of driving experience a Giulia Quadrifoglio has a much better turn in, much better steering feel, much better chassis playfulness, much better engine response..etc..etc a 997.2 GT3 RS has also a much better steering feel, much better chassis playfulness..etc..etc..I think the GT3 is being believed..not really lived..992 turbo S, great car for a touring car..very efficient 1st and second gear pulls, but after 3rd gear, not very different from other older cars in terms of performance. pdcc quite helpful in making the car efficient, but also making the driving feel more damped and a bit confusing at times... For me still the top porsche is the 997 GT2 and the 997 GT2 RS. Maybe the 991 GT2 RS also very good, but that one I never drove...
I love the sound of the engine at 6000 reps of the turbo s but man when you hit 8-9 k range of the gt3 that was next level shit....pure orchester for the ears😁😁
❤😂😢😮😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊 i’d like to know where that is so I could see those Porsches and maybe rent one and learn what the young guy did. Have a good week.
Chris was such a cool guy, great instructor
absolutely
Best sollution is to own both, obviously.
I was thinking about buying both but I decided to go with a Mitsubishi Mirage.
Couldn't agree more, that is a great solution 😅!!!
in order to own either one of two, you probably need to have bought a few porsches from the dealer at the first place🤑
A manual gt3 and turbo s would be the perfect combo
@@zonkar probably dodged a bullet! imagine not being able to decide which one to drive on a sunday :/

Formula Drift Ft: Topher

The guide is really well spoken! Shows he knows a lot about the car.

Topher just showed his expertise stringing all the corners together on low friction course
yea that was amazing to watch
This is very informative for how to drive track.

What a great video Topher! Nice driving! I'm a Turbo S kinda guy.
Wow that was simply awesome, never enjoyed a car video like that, loved the sound of the gt3 bravo
man this absolute cinema, thanks ...
Your Driving on the low friction course was superb! first time manhandling the car and aced it!

Proves you don't have to be the greatest driver to enjoy quality.
Nice video.
Great car control when drifting mate, really impressive!
he is a good driver...and understanding what it takes to make it happen....coooooooool instructions
What the. I just tried searching this exact car comparison this morning, an hour before this video dropped.
Same. I subbed immediately. That instructer was great. Driving was nice too. Looking for to doing in Feb
what a great f****n great vid!!!
Wow! Great driving Topher! Love the GT3 👍👍👍👍

that PDK is so sharp ugh making me reconsider specing a manual on my 992
Unless you’re racing competitively, the faster shift time doesn’t matter more than what makes the car fun for you to drive and nothing is more fun than manual.
Keep it
No wrong answers. I have a manual on mine but seeing how fast the PDK shifts here is truly amazing
I think personally I would go for pdk.
I've driven so many manuals in my life, I'm over them.
Topher was killin it on the low friction handling portion! Nice!!
Very talented instructor!
Great video, great instructor. Thank you. Greetings from Germany.
bro great video man love it
Didn't know you were such a good driver man that's badass congrats.
much more interesting circuit than in LA - good for you and thanks for sharing!
Turbo S for straight line speed, GT3 for track and that godly engine sound.
turbo s for daily driving, gt3 for track day on weekends

really good instructor
The planes coming in to land against a fluffy cloud backdrop made it feel like a Sega game from the 90s
Turbo S such a complete car.
Turbo S for me
I need this job! Porsche really giving a great experience!
That “rally jump has some serious skid marks on it lmao
Someone needs some Oxi Clean 🤣
Great driving!
Great job driving 👍
I would have a hard time concentrating with all the air planes landing over head. Be like a dog watching a squirrel every time one flies over.
You don't notice it
As a German it’s so crazy to think that there are Porsche experience Centers in other countries
Love the Speedmaster! Wearing the same thing, regrettably not in a Turbo S but soon enough, lol.
Damn, the GT3 are so goooooood. Glad I have one!
What about the same run in a GT4rs !. It should be a interesting comparison with a mid-engined car. Provided Chris is the instructer 😳.
Great stuff! What an amazing instructor also
Finally someone driving fast! not slow and boring
how does the gt3 do in the rain
Does doing a track lap without anyone behind you feel noticeably different than doing one with a competitor/friend behind you/chasing?
I really enjoyed that!
I did this with a 4 gts
And I’d love to try the turbo!

Would love to hear your thoughts on 18 way Seats vs Sports Plus Seats
The best solution is the gt3 based on it has a gear shifter and the turbo has a “what is that” selector
Plus the 3 sounds so much better
gt3 touring ftw
Nothing can compare with naturaly aspirated flat6🤤
So i would prefer always GT3🔥👍
the drift was amazing
topher needs to subtly remind us every now and then he's a god behind the wheel lol
Would they let you drive a manual transmission?
It would be nice to see a 992 turbo s with the sport package or the lightweight packe to see the differences
So nice. Seems for fun that owning one lol because of many dynamic and different tracks and cars type and expert sit by you to talk and guide
what kind of camera and mic do you use?? appreciate the response
EXCELLENT!!!
i really dont know which one to buy, whether it s the GT3, the TurboS or the CR-V
Good one ... I have a Kia Soul ... Kia Soul 'Turbo', that is , lol ... (did I regain a bit of 'cool', lol)
Those are automatic transmission?
he said 10 piston front caliper. I mean wouldn't the entire caliper just be bolts? I mean even with HUGE carbon brakes 10 pistons is insane.
You try to pull an emergency stop and the car just flips over😭
that drifting tho 😯
The handling in the 911 is insane
I would be disatisifued with my current driving skills to do this. I will work on them and then doing this experience is more fun
For sure I wanna do this so badly but I’m nervous my skills are not on this level 😭
you have to add outside pov too while drifting
10:11 i like this part
So the GT3 has the option of paddle shifters as well as the 6 speed manual?
I'm confused about that as well, it looks like it has automatic now?
Great drifting

GT3 handles so much better you can see how planted it is. Sounds unreal.
