I discovered you on TH-cam the other day and I just wanna say that I love your channel! You have so much useful information and you deliver it in such a calming and uplifting way. ☺️ Thank you for taking the time and energy to make such high quality (and free) content!
As an exclusively breastfeeding mom with an 11 week old, I have found your channel a saving grace! After the regulation phase, the doubting myself really started to kick in. There is so much pressure to have a massive supply and stash of milk. It feels like that’s all you see! I wonder often if my baby is getting enough but I know based on her weight gain, wet diapers, and overall state she is. Still, the push on social media makes it so hard to accept my “just enough” sometimes. Anyway, thank you for encouraging me and everyone who follows!! 🤍🤍
I know! It drives me crazy! Having “just enough” is having the “perfect amount”. That’s what we’re supposed to have. Good job mommy for realizing the flaw in social media on this subject! You can help spread the word to other breastfeeding moms around you, for the rest of your life ❤️❤️❤️
@@emmajames139 I don’t believe that insulin resistance will lower milk supply. Let’s try to figure out what’s happening. Tell me what’s happening? How old is baby? What is showing you that you have low supply? Lots of details helps. I’m out of town for this week so I might not answer right away.
My baby boy is now 43days . As u said hez not getting sufficient after 8:00pm everyday. His pee count , urine pass count is good . His virth weight is 2.9kgs and in first month its 3.6 kgs. From last 10days Im getting only small drop by drop through out the night he is continuously sucking so that 😢Im feeling pain . Will follow u. Thank you for this video
That small amount that he’s getting in the night is slightly higher in fat than the rest of the day. It’s like desert at the end of the day. That is the way that it’s supposed to be. That higher fat can hopefully increase is night to sleep longer than in the day. Having him at the breast longer, increasing your milk supply too ❤️ He is gaining but not by much. He might stay about 4 percentile for months to come. Just keeps weekly checks on baby’s growth.
Hi Mary, my baby boy is 2 1/2 months old. He is in combined feeding and not latching at all. He is having more than 6 diapers and weight gain is normal. I am pumping 5 times per day not able to more than that. Ia m getting 10 oz per day more or less. My questions are 1) how to get 24 oz per day with 5 times oumping per day? 2) Is it ok to pump for 40 minutes or more per session? 3) Is it possible to achieve 24 oz per day by pumping 5 times per day without night pumping?
@@meenumeena8944 I don’t know if you could get up to 24 ounces with your five pumping but you should be able to get your supply up more than it is. At each pumping session, you should stop pumping after it’s been about 10 minutes since you’ve seen drops of milk come out. But you can take a break for about 10 minutes and pump again. During that 10 minute break you should be massaging your breasts. Adding the second pumping will increase a second letdown. It would be good if you can do this at every pumping if you have the time. It’s important that you pump at around the same times every day and have those pumping times spread out as much as possible. It’s generally not necessary to pump through the night. Getting in one pumping in the morning that is as early as possible, is helpful. You should be seeing the largest amount of milk pumped in the morning. By late afternoon, it’s normal to be getting much less, but do be sure to pump anyway. It’s important to add lots and lots of breast massage before and during pumping sessions. If you can take 5 to 10 minutes to massage your breast before pumping, this adds stimulation to your breast and tells your body to make more milk. Massage is a big important key when pumping. Applying heat before pumping can help to speed up and increase your letdown. It will take 3 to 5 days to start seeing an increase in supply after you’ve been very consistent with times and adding lots and lots of breast massage. The increase will probably just be a few mls in the beginning, but then will very slowly increase. After about eight weeks postpartum, our milk supply regulates down to what baby needs. This is if baby is feeding from the breast. When you are pumping, it’s up to you to tell your body how much milk you need. Be sure that your pump parts are replaced if needed. You might try a manual pump and hand expressing. Many moms can get more milk out by hand expressing and hand expressing ads more of the needed breast stimulation. Even when baby receives partial breastmilk, the benefits are great for baby. Those benefits will stay with baby for the rest of their lives. ❤️
Thanks a lot @@marycahillclc. You are really a life saver for new moms. I will try with massaging and manual pumps. Also will try to breastfeed before pumping. Do i need to increase pumping session along with latching to get 24oz per day?
@@meenumeena8944 Latching is best for increasing supply if you’d like to but you can add 1 more pumping session and really focus on breast massage. In a couple of weeks, you be amazing at the difference. Massaging should be comfortably firm and the whole breast. You can even massage through (on top of) your shirt. You can use your wrists to massage if you want to be a little discreet about massaging. ❤️

How many wet diapers is baby having every 24 hours? How many mls/ounces do you get out per pumping? How’s baby’s weight gain now?

You can get baby back to the breast, but you must be consistent and offer the breast at least once at every feeding but never force baby or allow him or yourself to get upset. As soon as baby starts to fuss, stop and go to the bottle. Baby will usually start to feed from the breast when they are sleepy. Thanks Mary Cahill for talking on this topic, I am also facing low milk supply during evening. I stressed out on this and went worst. Later visted doctor and found my baby is doing good not to worry much. Now my 2m boy is weighing 4kg. His birth weight was 2.35kg.take away from this session is Doing breast massage will help to keep supply and keeping more on breast will do good. However, I have question---will low supply will continue like this or it is for few weeks?
Yes Mary, he is exclusively breastfeeding. And he 5 wet diapers in 24hours. I have started and currently having the supplement to increase breast milk. He is more active and ask for breast more in evening time.
@@prabharani799 By “supplement” I meant, do you give formula. I’m sorry, I should have explained that better. Suppliants (like vitamins) don’t help with supply. What makes more milk is breastfeeding or pumping (with massage). Is baby feeding off of both breasts each feeding? Is he staying awake during feedings? Does he seem to be latching well? Do you have any pain while breastfeeding? If that all seems good, you can increase supply by letting him be on the breast as much and as long as possible. Having baby at the breast is the best way to increase supply. I would feed baby on one breast until baby a slowing down and seems to be about full. Then switch baby to the second breast for as long as he’ll stay. He may stay there a few minutes or just a few seconds (baby might not want it at all). It’s OK if baby doesn’t nurse on the second side every time but offer. Even if baby doesn’t seem to be swallowing and just using you like a human pacifier, that’s totally fine. That’s still really great for your supply because it’s giving your breast more stimulation telling your body to make more milk. ❤️
@@marycahillclcI am currently 3 months postpartum. My milk supply didn't come in until after 3-4 days post cesarean. I started to breastfeed along with formula. I ended up quitting because of too much pain from the surgery and pain from painful letdown. All in which caused me to become depressed a bit but now I'm better mentally and have been trying to relactate. I'm only at about 1.5 oz a day. Would like some tips on how I can increase supply and get him back to breast.
A relactation video would be wonderful! I’ve been fumbling along taking bits and pieces of information but a video by you would be amazing since you’re so encouraging! I was diagnosed postpartum psychosis at 2 weeks PP, I did A LOT of cluster feeding those first 2 weeks with my baby but then had to be away from him for 2+ weeks in a facility that did not allow me to pump frequently or see my baby to nurse him 😢 I could only hand express a few drops when I got back home with him. It’s been a long journey heartbreaking but I’m just glad it’s better now. One struggle I have is when he does need a supplement bottle I nurse him as well but then he falls asleep without moving all the milk out of my breasts and I miss emptying it because I just went to hold and snuggle him while he’s sleeping. He also loves contact naps! 🥰 so he wakes up early if not sleeping in someone’s arms. Another trouble is his favorite side my right breast and left is a bit of a “slacker” tips for that? Thank you thank you for sharing your wisdom and kind words with us mommies! ❤️
@oliviarobbinsmarquez5263 I’m so sorry that you went through that. I’m so glad that you’re doing well now❤️ It sounds like baby is latching well at the breast, correct? How old is he now? When and how much formula are you giving him? We all have one breast that produces more than the other but for some moms, it’s a more noticeable difference. It’s not usually anything to worry about because the other side makes up for the slacker. Tell me more about him not emptying your breast and you miss emptying it. Are you feeling engorged? Or are you just wanting to pump after to increase supply? If baby is latching, that’s great! Take a look at this video. It will walk you through the process of increasing supply and weaning off of a supplement. The very best way to increase supply is by having baby at the breast as often as long as possible, you can do additional pumping, but having baby on the breast will work faster and will be easier. This video will explain more. ❤️ Increasing Your Milk Supply and Weaning off of Formula th-cam.com/video/S3DSN2Dwf5M/w-d-xo.html
thank you so much for replying to my comment! I will watch the video suggested. This past week I’ve been letting him nurse as frequently as he wants and perhaps even when he’s not hungry but just relaxed and willing to suckle (a snack I guess 😂) it’s sometimes every hour but no more than 3 hours. Since doing this I’m noticing more milk! Way more than when I was trying to pump instead of putting him to the breast. He is 4-1/2 months old now. He latches well. I think he empties me but that’s probably only been regular the past week or so. I’ve been trusting myself a little more to just let him suckle and not always offer a supplement bottle. He came down from about 14 oz supplement to about 8 oz the past couple days. I give them in small bottles 3-4 oz around mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Donor milk mostly but sometimes bubs goat milk formula.
my son is 7 months. i started exclusively pumping since he got teeth. he bit me almost every time and i had no energy to correct him, so now im just pumping at home and at work every 3-4hrs. i supplement with formula and also feed him puree foods. my concern is im only getting 1-2oz total each session. i do get the 4-5oz early in the morning. even tho this is "normal," will it ever increase during the day?
Yes, it can increase but it’s a lot of work. It will however be lower in the afternoon than the evening. Are you able to add lots of breast massage before pumping? That massage is a HUGE piece that so often is missed. We need this extra stimulation because a pump cannot add the same amount of stimulation as baby’s mouth on the breast does. It’s important to be very consistent. When you can, try to pump every three hours. It’s OK if that doesn’t always happen, but if you can set certain times of the day that you pump this often. You can do a mini power pumping. This is where you would pump, then wait 10 to 20 minutes and pump again. Before and in between those pumping sessions, add lots of breast massage. Do the mini power pumping session at the same time every day. Applying heat would be helpful to, especially in between those pumping sessions. The heat helps to have a faster letdown. Once you start to pump more often it will take 3 to 5 days to start to see an increase in supply. It will be a small amount in the beginning, and then grow gradually from there. You can work to increase your supply, and this would be so great for baby, but do just what you can without stressing yourself out, and know that even a small amount of breastmilk is still an incredible gift. ❤️ Here’s a video you might check out Pumping Moms With Low Milk Supply th-cam.com/video/_of4OTnOubc/w-d-xo.html
Hello! Great info! My baby is 5mo and last 5/6 days I have not seen wet dipers after 6pm until 2 am. He is good during the day. I used to change at 10 pm. Also he has been in the breast for 30 min almost at night for last feeding. I pumped and only got 1/2 oz. I think my supply is too low in the evening since now he keeps waking up every hour to eat more and he stays long eating. What should I do? Thank you!
Are you seeing plenty of wet diapers in the day? At least 6 every 24 hours? Was the 1/2 oz pumping, after a feeding? It would be normal to only see drops in the evening after feeding. When a baby is teething or having a growth spurt, they will often nurse more and longer. Breastmilk has natural painkillers in it and being in mommy’s arms is comforting. Thats a good sign that things are going well if he’s great in the day and you’re just seeing this in the evening. How is his growth and weight gain? Do you think he’s teething? He may go back to his normal feeding and wetting in a few more days but we definitely want to be sure that he’s getting enough. If you’re concerned, you should check with your doctor to be sure he’s gaining well. ❤️
Thank you very much for the response! Yes, during the day at least 6 wet diapers plus 2 dirty. He still in the same percentile when I weight him. I got 1.5 oz before I breastfeed and after less than 1/2oz. I was concerned because he wasn't wetting at night and also he does not swallow often when eating in the evening now, like if he is not getting any milk to swallow. I have started pumping after breastfeeding in the evening, would that help?
@@MsPiruchi You can definitely pump after feedings if it would help you to feel more confident about what he’s getting. If he’s having those wet diapers during the day and staying in his same percentile, that shows that he’s getting enough. In the evening, babies don’t take in as much volume of milk as they do in the day but what they do, take in, has slightly more fat in it. Having baby at the breast, increases (keeps) your milk supply to what they need, even if they’re not swallowing very much. Your body makes more milk by how much baby takes in and by the stimulation that baby gives to your breast. Is he having some extra drooling? Drooling is a sign of being uncomfortable. That’s usually from gum pain/ teething or a growth spurt.
Hey, I have a question. I spoke with you about a month ago and we determined I have a slight oversupply so why if I give by baby who just turned 3 mos a bottle she still only drinks 2.6 ounces?
That’s a very normal amount at a feeding. Some babies will take in more if mom has a FL/OS, just because they’re used to a huge amount. If your supply is more regulated, that’s a good amount. If baby is taking more than the out of feeding, it’s usually best to start pace feeding. From one month to six months, old, babies who are exclusively breast-fed from the breast, Will take an average of 24 ounces every 24 hours unless Mom has a forceful letdown and over supply. You would think that would go up in ounces from one month to six mouths but breastmilk is just utilized differently as baby gets older. Formula for baby does need more ounces as they age because formula can’t adapt to what baby needs a different stages. Babies can take in anywhere from 1/2 ounce to 4 ounces at a time. Normally a morning feeding will be larger and afternoon. Feedings will be smaller, but they eat more often. You’ll always know that baby is getting enough if you always see six or more wet diapers every 24 hours ❤️
@@marycahillclc I have a oversupply and also I have an overactive letdown. She seems to gain at least 6 oz a week, but if she ate more in one sitting we could sleep longer. Unless she just likes to graze. Sometimes she takes forever to finish her bottle except this week she turned 3 mos so she's been downed them this weekend. I see other babies breastfed online taking in 4 to 6 oz a feeding? She is ebf and only gets about 1 pumped bottle a day except on the weekend she gets 2 so I have no idea how much she takes in breastfeeding.
@@marycahillclc Also, sometimes she hates taking a bottle I have slow flow ones but since I have a overactive letdown I think she feels they are too slow and she gets frustrated. Should I switch bottle or no incase at some point my flow slows a bit ?
@@rebeccaschadt7136 6 ounce gain a week is great. Her weight gain will probably drop in the next few weeks. Baby weight gain should be; 0-4 months 5.5 to 8.5 ounces a week 4-6 months 3.25 to 4.5 ounces a week 6 to 12 months 1.75 to 2.75 ounces a week. I know that the internet shows babies drinking huge amounts from a bottle but that’s not the norm for babies feeding from the breast. If we could all just feed from the breast and not compare our baby’s intake to others, it would be less stress and usually better for baby. You can definitely get some babies to take in that much breastmilk but it can cause tummy issues for baby. For moms with an average supply, that’s really hard to pump that much so moms see that 4 to 6 ounce bottle and wrongly believe that their supply is low 😢 so they stop breastfeeding. I usually recommend staying with a slow flow nipple and Pace Feeding but some babies to pace themselves and take in a more average amount. So you can try a faster flow and see if she likes it better but I wouldn’t make the goal to get more into her. She’s probably having lots of heavy wet diapers. Right? I know that lack of sleep is a bummer but truly, most breastfed babies don’t sleep through the night until about six months old. And six hours of sleep is considered “sleeping through the night”. One of the reasons that breast-fed babies have lower cases of SIDS is because they wake often to eat. This keeps baby’s breathing regular. For most moms, needing baby to sleep a little longer, I recommend that Mom offer the breast every hour for several hours before bed but for short feeds. This will give a slightly higher amount of fat to help them sleep longer. Though if a mom has a forceful letdown/over supply, this can have the opposite effect because it will put mom’s milk supply in overdrive. But if you feel like your condition isn’t out of control and it’s regulated Well, you can try. 😴❤️

@@kimrenthlei8746 just to be sure that I understand: Baby us 2 weeks old. Baby is exclusively breastfed. Baby only nurses for 5 minutes at each feeding. All correct? Is baby fussy at every feeding? Morning feedings fussy too? How many wet diapers is baby having every 24 hours? You definitely can pump after every feeding but having baby at the breast more if more effective but if baby won’t stay latched, then that’s a problem. After feeding should have baby on both breasts each feeding if possible. Feed on the first side for as long as possible then offer the 2nd side. Baby may be on for just a few seconds or a few minutes. Baby may not latch at all on the 2nd side and that’s ok. I would nurse baby then spend at least 5 minutes massaging your breasts, then pump. The massaging part is very important when pumping for stimulation. A pump cannot stimulate like baby can. Pumping needs to be at the same time every day. You can pump after every feeding or pick a couple of times a day. When you start adding massage and extra pumping, you may only see drops in the beginning. After about 3 to 5 days, you should start to see a little bit more every 3 to 5 days. It will increase slightly more if you are consistent. If your baby is not having six or more wet diapers, every 24 hours, it’s important to get baby fed. This would temporarily include adding donor milk or formula. I’ll try to watch for your reply. ❤️
@@marycahillclc No my baby is 6weeks, he is fussing early afternoon till night..he have 6 or more wet diapers every 24 hrs..i think he may want more milk so im frustrated.
@@kimrenthlei8746 I think that you’re doing way better thank you realize. There is a big growth spurt at around 6 weeks. During a growth spurt, baby is usually not fussy in the morning but extra fussy in the afternoon and evening. A growth spurt does not mean that baby wants or needs more to eat, but it hurts to grow so quickly. During a growth spurt baby will be extra fussy and he might be hard to calm baby down. Baby will usually want to eat more often but pop off the breast crying. This may look like baby is not getting enough to eat, but you can be sure that baby is getting enough to eat when you always see six or more wet diapers every 24 hours. A growth spurt is very frustrating for mom and baby, but it usually gets better within a week. Most babies go through several growth spurts in the first year. Your baby should be gaining 5.5 to 8.5 ounces a week from 1 moth to 4 moths old.. (growth will slow way down after 4 months. 3.25 to 4.5 ounces a week) It you don’t have a scale at home, your doctors office and your lactation counselor will have scales to check his weight gain. It’s still ok to go that extra pumping but really doesn’t sound like you’re low.. just do what would make you have less stress. ❤️
hello! my 3 week old baby falls asleep on my breast while feeding, most of the time she would be fussy and tug my nipple, would cry very loud. Im worried she doesnt get enough milk from me, my milk supply is less in the afternoon, we tend to give her formula around 6pm to satisfy her but she would still ask for my breast even after being full from the formula.
You can always know for sure that baby is getting enough, if she has 6 or more wet diapers every 24 hours. It’s very normal to have less milk in the afternoon and evening. That milk has slightly more fat in it at this time. Think of it like dessert. That higher fat is also great for better brain development. In the afternoon/evening, baby will nurse much more often. Sometimes they nurse almost non stop for several hours. Babies tend to be extra fussy at this time of day. It can look like baby is hungry, but really they are overly tired, over stimulated, or hurting from growing pains. And if baby is going through a growth spurt, it could be even worse. A growth spurt tends to happen for a few days at a time and then get a little better. When baby is going through growth spurt, it does not mean that they need or want more to eat, but it hurts to grow so quickly so baby wants to be at the breast more. Breastmilk has natural painkillers in it plus mommy’s arms are comforting. You may need to stand and walk around with baby to help comfort them. If baby is gassy at this time of day, it can help to lay baby so their tummy is across your arm as you walk around with baby. Or hold baby up higher on your shoulder. If baby is having a hard time staying awake, you may need to strip baby down to just a diaper and no blanket wrapped around baby. Sometimes you need to stop and change, burp or play with baby for a few seconds to get them to wake up a little more. Also, when baby is falling asleep at one breast and seems done or fussy, this is when you want to switch baby to the second breast. Baby should always nurse on one breast for as long as possible, then switch to the second second side. They get another letdown on that side. That letdown won’t be as strong as the other side, but it will happen and that gets baby to eat a little more, sometimes babies don’t want the second side, and that’s OK. Just offer that side when possible. Just having baby on that second side for a few seconds helps increase your milk supply. When baby is a few months old they usually don’t need to nurse on both sides every feeding . If they won’t take the second side, that’s all right for a couple of feedings, but try harder to wake them up, for the next feeding for that side. Again, when they do wake up, they may only be on there for a few seconds so don’t let that worry you. ❤️
My son is 4 months old till 1.5 months he was on mix feed then he rejects top feed and he is now exclusively breastfeed till 2 months his daiper count wo too kuch after 2 month it decreases now he is 4 months his weight is 6 kg at birth it was 2.8 now he pees but not that heaver and sometimes its yellow color .
@marycahillclc 1.Yes, on 1st month, he was around 4kg 2 months vaccination he was 5 kg now on 4 months, and he is 6 kg. 2. I feed him on demand at night time. He takes 2 to 3 feedings after every 2 hours But day time there is no schedule he is cranky most of the time, so I have to settle him and feed. Mostly, he fed while sleeping, so whenever I put hum on breast, he drank Little and slept.
@@aroosahassan5409 That’s great that you are feeding baby on demand. My calculations have him at Birth 11 percentile 1 mo 21 percentile 2 mo 19 percentile 4 mo 8 percentile From birth to one month, we often see a drop in percentile, but he actually went up. Probably because of the formula feeding. Breast fed babies generally don’t gain weight as fast as formula fed babies. As they get a little older, they tend to level out with formula fed babies. This weight may be OK for him, but since there is a significant drop in percentile, it is important to see a lactation counselor in person. Having less than six wet diapers, every 24 hours does show that he’s probably not getting what he should. Baby’s weight gain will slow way down at around four months but they should stay close to the same percentile. It may take a few days to get into a lactation counselor. In the meantime, I would personally offer the breast more often. When he nurses you can wait 10 to 20 minutes and wake him up to nurse again. Sometimes you need to strip baby down to their diaper to get them to wake up for more of a feeding but letting baby stay on the breast when they are sleeping, gives baby even more milk and slightly more fat. It will take 2 to 5 days to start to see an increase in wet diapers. Are you feeding on both breasts each nursing session? Baby should be on one breast for as long as possible then try to wake up if they’re falling asleep and put baby on the second breast. Sometimes baby will stay latched on the second side through another letdown, but sometimes they fall asleep, and only stay latched for a few seconds. It’s OK if they don’t continue eating on the second side every time but it’s good to try. Plus having baby on both breast for as long as possible at each feeding session, increases your supply and gives baby more milk and more milk fat. Your lactation counselor will probably do weighted feeds. Baby well often taken anywhere from 1 to 4 ounces in a feeding in the morning but generally the afternoon feedings will stay around 1 to 1 1/2 ounces. Your afternoon milk has slightly more fat in it. ❤️

@@jenifferalberto2363 yes, you can increase supply but if she’s only getting breastmilk and has 6 or more wet diapers every 24 hours then you know your supply is good. Is she having plenty of wet diapers? How’s her weight gain? Does she seem satisfied in the morning? But then seems like she’s not getting enough milk in the afternoon or evening?
Thank you for replying, she was 7.2kg and now she is 6.9kg. Probably 5-6 nappies 24 hours, I have a nappie with 6 tablespoons of water to measure the nappies. She doesn’t sleep properly I think she is hungry put her in my breast but she falls sleep and wakes up again after 20 minutes. She looks satisfied in the morning but afternoons I feel frustrated she looks starving.
@@jenifferalberto2363 So she has lost some weight recently? With her diaper count being a little low, I think it would be best to find a lactation counselor. She will help you by doing weighted feeds to see how much milk baby is getting. Babies who are exclusively fed from to breast will usually keep moms supply up. There are some things that could cause a loss in supply. If you are pregnant, taking medication like allergy/cold medicine or taking birth control pills with estrogen. Could any of those be possible? Many babies are satisfied in the morning but seem like they’re starving in the evening. Baby can be crying for other reasons than being hungry but it’s a good idea to meet with a lactation counselor to be sure. The afternoon crying is usually because baby is over stimulated, extra tired, teething or just uncomfortable from growing so quickly. 🥲
I discovered you on TH-cam the other day and I just wanna say that I love your channel! You have so much useful information and you deliver it in such a calming and uplifting way. ☺️ Thank you for taking the time and energy to make such high quality (and free) content!
I’m so glad that you are enjoying it. Thank you!

Having him at the breast longer, increasing your milk supply too ❤️
He is gaining but not by much.

My questions are
1) how to get 24 oz per day with 5 times oumping per day?

Is he feeding exclusively from the breast?
Do you supplement?
How many wet diapers does he have every 24 hours?
Yes Mary, he is exclusively breastfeeding. And he 5 wet diapers in 24hours. I have started and currently having the supplement to increase breast milk. He is more active and ask for breast more in evening time.
He won't take any milk (expressed Or formula) from outside. He crys alot and split out every thing if feed.
Can you please do a video on relactation?
I do need to do that one soon. 🥰
Tell me about your situation?
I’m so glad that you’re doing well now❤️
It sounds like baby is latching well at the breast, correct?
Increasing Your Milk Supply and Weaning off of Formula
th-cam.com/video/S3DSN2Dwf5M/w-d-xo.html
thank you so much for replying to my comment!

Hello!

I have a oversupply and also I have an overactive letdown.
@@marycahillclc
Also, sometimes she hates taking a bottle I have slow flow ones but since I have a overactive letdown I think she feels they are too slow and she gets frustrated. Should I switch bottle or no incase at some point my flow slows a bit ?
@@rebeccaschadt7136 6 ounce gain a week is great. Her weight gain will probably drop in the next few weeks.
Baby weight gain should be;
0-4 months 5.5 to 8.5 ounces a week
4-6 months 3.25 to 4.5 ounces a week
6 to 12 months 1.75 to 2.75 ounces a week.

@@marycahillclc thank you for your response.. im exclusive breastfeeding and when i feed he is fussy and crying and he only want to feed 5 minutes !when i express my milk only few drops come out... i offer my breast every 2 or3 hours can i pump my breast after breastfeeding to increase my supply?
3.25 to 4.5 ounces a week)
It you don’t have a scale at home, your doctors office and your lactation counselor will have scales to check his weight gain.

Do you have his weights at 1 mo, 2 mo or 3 mo?
Do you feed on demand or a schedule?
@marycahillclc
1.Yes, on 1st month, he was around 4kg 2 months vaccination he was 5 kg now on 4 months, and he is 6 kg.
2. I feed him on demand at night time. He takes 2 to 3 feedings after every 2 hours
But day time there is no schedule he is cranky most of the time, so I have to settle him and feed. Mostly, he fed while sleeping, so whenever I put hum on breast, he drank Little and slept.

That’s great that you are feeding baby on demand.
My calculations have him at
Birth 11 percentile
1 mo 21 percentile
2 mo 19 percentile
4 mo 8 percentile
From birth to one month, we often see a drop in percentile, but he actually went up.
I wish to have watched your videos before having my baby. My baby is 6 months old and she was combined formula and breastmilk. We had bad experiences with formula and feeling frustrated no produce more breastmilk. Now she refuses bottles she just wants breast milk, I’m stressed she is not having enough, can I increase my supply at 6 months old baby?
When she is breastfeeding she drinks the letdown and then she stops drinking, she doesn’t continue stimulating
@@jenifferalberto2363 if it’s a heavy letdown, she could be full by then. Do you offer the other breast for her to have another letdown?
