Will I have enough colostrum for my breastfed baby if I pump or nurse during pregnancy?

Love love your content! My husband shared your video with me and it helped me lot! I now regret why i got to watch your videos so late when I have my third baby. I was very frustrated and worried with my first two kids. I struggled a lot and I sensed they struggled too. I'm glad I know so much now because of the information you have given.

      🥰 awww thanks!
I’m so impressed at how many dads watch and share my videos with moms❤️
I know it’s sad that you didn’t have all of the information from the start but my hope is that you and other moms can be there to help future breastfeeding moms. ❤️

Could you please make a video on maintaining supply while fasting. Ramadhan is coming up which is the month that Muslims fast from sunrise till sunset. So for me that will be 13 hours of fasting. My baby will be 3 months old then. One option is to not fast which I can do as my baby is so small still but i would like to fast. Thanks again

Oh that would be a great video. I’ll have to research that more. I know that many moms will not fast when breastfeeding but I understand wanting to.
It’s usually not a problem for breastfeeding moms to fast occasionally if they’d like. People tend to think that breastmilk will dry up if mom doesn’t eat or drink enough but a mom would need to be extremely dehydrated or malnourished for it to lower supply. Milk is made from our white blood cells and not directly from the food we eat. So your body will make milk for baby. Our bodies have been wonderfully made ❤️

Hey I’m looking forward to some help.
My 3 months old has been refusing to latch all of a sudden. She is EBF and we never had this issue until the last 4 days.
She latches on sometimes but I need to keep a lot of patience. At night time she doesn’t give me any trouble and latches whenever she is hungry.
I am thinking to combo feed her because I don’t pump enough.. I don’t want to stop my breastfeeding journey so soon

Do you have any guesses as to why she’s refusing the breast? It may help to know why to fix it.
I have a couple of videos for you.
This first one is to get through a nursing strike. You can do it but it takes consistency and patience.
How Do I Get My Baby Through a Nursing Strike?

Then, once you get passed that, you can get your supply back up with this one.

How often are you pumping right now? About how much do you produce per pumping session? And how many ounces are you pumping every 24 hours?

Hi. I’m currently breastfeeding but 4wks pregnant. If by 20wks, my toddler is not yet weaned, will she get the colostrum? And in another case, if I have to express to relief to avoid clogged ducts (weaned but there is still milk), will i be expressing the colostrum out but still my body will make new one once placenta is out? Thanks!

Hi mommy! Yes, your toddler will be getting milk that is more like colostrum. Colostrum won’t hurt your toddler at all and she won’t be depleting your colostrum for your new baby.
If you wean your toddler but need to pump a bit for engorgement, it won’t deplete your colostrum.
Colostrum will be there for an amount of time after baby is born. The time is usually for about 3 to 5 days. During that time it’s transitioning to mature milk. Your mature milk is usually in by day 7 to 10.
      Did that help? 🥰
Incase you didn’t know: You can continue to breastfeed your toddler through pregnancy and after baby is born. This is called Tandem Nursing. For some moms, it’s easier to Tandem Nurse and let toddler self wean (that could be 5 years or older). For other moms, it’s stressful to breastfeed baby and toddler. You have to do what’s best for you. You’ve done an amazing job to be breastfeeding your toddler. You’re a great mom, no matter what you choose. ❤️
