    I wish you would do a video about actual low milk supply. I find that no one ever wants to talk about this so if you are one of the women that truly falls into this category it is frustrating because there is no information or help other than triple feed forever or it is your fault for [insert dumb reason].

      This is top comment especially for me. Cz i did very all thing that everyone said to increasing milk supply. But i realize something wrong with my body cz the supply is stuck although i did alot of demand. And now i think i have low milk supply. Anybody can help me how to treatment low milk supply? Or i just accept and go with formula and breast milk also. 😄

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are so many reasons for low supply, or perceived low supply, there’s a reason IBCLS’s are trades in this. You would be better off meeting with a professional who can help you figure out your unique situation, and come up with a plan that will fix the underlying problem.
      Trust me, if there was a secret magic formula that would just work for everyone I would tell you! 💕

      Agreed, my son got dehydrated and then stalled weight gain for a whole week, but when I try to look things up, everything just says, "it's rare, and you're probably fine. " very annoying

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they mean the “actual inability to make milk” is uncommon, low milk supply caused by feeding and expression issues are definitely quite common and what IBCLCs help often with.

    Thank you SOOOO much for this! I’m an exclusive pumper and I noticed a slight decrease in my milk supply. So of course the first thing I did was panic. I was sooo used to certain ounces of milk for baby. Looking at other moms and their milk amounts becomes discouraging as if I don’t make enough. So thanks again!!!

    I nurse during the day and pump twice (morning and night) and typically get 8-12 oz at a time and I never leak. I didn't start feeling letdown until 3ish months. My baby also eats every 1.5 hrs during the day 🥴. I've had an oversupply with a 3 babies and fit into a few of these categories 😂 so definitely agree they don't always mean low milk supply.

My baby is two months old..and sometimes gets fussy while breastfeeding and holds the nipple in his mouth and instantly removes the nipple and cries, when I press a little and check the milk secretion..I get drops of milk oozing out, but my baby keeps on holding and getting away from nipple, my family assumes it's coz of low milk and eventually end up giving bottle..what to do

      I know this comment is a year old but I’m replying in case there are others reading this comment in a similar situation as you.
      Sometimes babies get fussy at the breast over a strong let down. It doesn’t sound like low milk supply at all since you’re able to hand express milk. But if your family keeps giving them a bottle and not letting you empty your breasts for your baby, they may create a low milk supply for you.

    Our pediatrician told us not to feed longer than 30 min, because if he’s sucking long times he’s burning off all the calories he ate by sucking, and won’t gain the weight he should be. I don’t get that, cause stopping sucking on my breast just to suck a bottle or pacifier seems to me would burn the same amount.

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes we hear this recommendation with very small babies or those who are really struggling with weight gain. If they aren’t efficient at removing milk, it can be a tricky balance.

    Thanks so much for this vedio!! I was told that a milk supply doesn't regulate for 8 weeks which made me worried that I'm drying up. I have now been reassured that my supply is fine. I'm 4 weeks postpartum and I exclusively breastfeed my breasts are now soft and when I used my silicone pump my milk seemed really low, but it makes sense that I wouldn't drain as much as someone who pumps exclusively. My daughter also seems very full and satisfied after feeding she sleeps so long I have to wake her up lol also my let downs are very strong still so I guess it's me just being a worried momma when it's nothing to really worry about at the moment.

    Question- how would you recommend moms using a haakaa make sure they are getting some of the hindmilk too? Should it be mixed with other pumped milk from that day to make sure it isn't all foremilk? Thank you!

This was my first baby so I just trusted the pediatrician when they said there was an issue but after doing tons and tons of research I found out the only issue was just my sons latch and if I’d had help and support everything would have fixed itself but they pushed and pushed and pushed formula and stretching my preemies tummy and he was spiting up and projectile vomiting his bottles often 😞 I feel like an awful mom for not trusting my own body and instincts 🤦🏻‍♀️

    My baby’s pediatrician told me I didn’t produce enough milk because my baby is never satisfied when he breastfeeds. He feeds for HOURS at a time and when I remove him he eats his hand and shows signs of hunger. If I skip a feeding I only pump 1-1.5oz. I do have the right flange sizes and have learned to pump correctly. So now I’m being to told I have to supplement. My baby is 5 weeks old. 😖

      I am going Through same phase. Did your baby had 6 wet diapers each day? Did you start supplementing?

    • @mikamika121
      @mikamika121 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny thing is, my baby is 7 weeks old. When I was discharged from hospital, I was told I had enough milk to supplement my baby. After 2 days we were back to NICU to treat his Jaundice, because I wasn't getting enough milk. My baby wasn't having enough wet diapers. For 2 days that we have been home, I was breastfeeding him, so thinking he is getting that colostrum since he was on my breast for hours. And of course, when we get to NICU they start supplementing him with formula. And I was pumping at the same time. When I see that he had 20oz in 24 hours. And I am producing 8 oz in 24 hours. What a difference? I have been told and done a lot of things do increase my milk supply. But, still producing 12 oz despite pumping 8 times in 24 hours. And last 2 days pumping only 5-6 times still the same amount. I do not understand, should I just formula fed him and drop the idea of breastfeeding since clearly I don't produce enough to meet my childs needs. And another thing is, how one can handle babies cry for food, just to keep them on the breast? Shouldn't be the main goal to keep them full and satisfied? And keep them healthy? Either breastfed or formula fed baby.
