I decided to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro on my PC 2 days ago. The upgrade went well. No issues. Except for this one where Windows Security wouldn't load, work properly or it had an empty screen. Thank you so so much. Your video was super easy to follow. I followed all of the steps to download and replace the .dll file. I re-run the Windows 11 setup. Now everything is working fine. I upgraded win 11 on a computer that does not support win 11 and after the upgrade Windows security did not work. I did everything as you explained in your video and now Windows security works perfectly. Thank you
The steps in the video did not help. But this helped: 1. Download and run Process Monitor. 2. Set up the following two filters inside that program: a. ProcessName = SecurityHealthService.exe b. Result = ACCESS DENIED 3. Then try to start the SecurityHealthService from the Services menu. Then simply go to each of those registry keys and give FULL permission to the SYSTEM account. In my case, when I tried to give the SYSTEM account the FULL permission on those registry keys, I didn't have access. I had to first change the owner of the registry key by going to Advanced --> Change (located at the top next to Owner) -->Put my own account name into the box and select "Check Names". From there, I made mysef the owner (instead of the default TrustedInstaller), and then I was able to make SYSTEM account have FULL permission.

Jens thank you very much. This fixed it for me. I was getting a message that my computer did not meet minimum requirements when I started Microsoft Filight Simulator 2020 ... specifically. Apart from an icon in the Taskbar that my Security needed attention. Which of course was linked to the unresponsive Windows Security app as you described. The flight sim starts up nicely now. No more problems. Very strange that not even Microsoft is giving an option to re-install like this in stead of just giving a registry fix which doesn't have permission. Worked for me. Eseentially you're installing Windows 11 on top of itself. No data loss, configurations remain the same. But Defneder and Securituy both work afterwoard.
For me it's working the first example, I downloaded the ISO file and I put the file appriser and now it's a great ,defender it's work .Nice job man, and thank you very much.

On my PC, (only unsupported is the a12-9800e) WSS was running fine and I could open it. But when going to security / privacy settings and selecting WS, the entire folder would freeze up. Currently at 11% re-installing w11...fingers crossed. Appreciate the hard work...and subbed. EDIT: Fixed...works perfect!!
I do think that most security features were working and active in this state. Ping was for sure blocked by the firewall when I tested. Good luck wit the fix, keep us posted :)
@@jensdbe So far, I've noticed everything is working as it should with my defender, I even put myself at risk to test it, and sure enough, it warns me about potential threats...etc.

First method worked for me, already tried other methods as shown to no avail. Funny because this issue only affected one of two unsupported machines i upgraded, the other machine was fine and is very old. My more modern PC is the one that had this Defender issue.

Hi. Thank you. This is the best method, worked flawlessly. The other methods are just for some cases. I have done it for a HP - i5 intel, 2 cores processor, 6 years old laptop and for an Asus - i7 intel, 4 cores processor, 5 years old laptop, both considered not acceptable by the new windows 11 installation tool for regular update. Both laptops run the Win 11 on SSD hardware installed by me. As usual Windows releases unfinished versions on the market. It is nice to have fixes.

Not a single one worked for me, I know my cpu isn't supported however it did work when I first installed Windows 11 Edit: found out what it was, I had temporary used another antivirus and I guess I didn't restart after each program of it (comodo which installs other stuff too) and windows defender was thinking it was still installed. I had to reinstall and carefully uninstall the other antivirus. It took me two different times as well and not sure why but whatever.
@jensd_be i have prepared the folder with Windows11 as you did with the appraisals being overwritten with the Windows 10 Pro x64..... I see there are also issues with AMD Processors.. Ryzen etc.. i have the AMD Phenom ii x6 1090t Black Edition CPU.. Windows 10 Pro x64 worked absolutely fine with the same CPU.. so i can imagine Windows 11 will be now that you have gratefully fixed the issue with Windows Security... Many Thanks Jens_be

Many thanks for the guide. I previously upgraded my (unsupported) PC from Win10 to Win11 using the *.wim swap trick. All went well, but was left with the blank security centre. I tried all the fixes but they didn't help. I did the re-install over the top again (this time with the .dll swap) and its now working as per normal.

Did you update anything after reinstalling windows? My problems came after I began installing updates

Your probably the best youtuber like you fix everysingle problem that we go trough.
The steps in the video did not help.
But this helped:
1. Download and run Process Monitor.
2. Set up the following two filters inside that program:
