    I want to thank you for this very simple video. It was a great job and it was very well done by using step by step. The only issue I had and it was my mistake was when I went into the can mode I messed up the first time by using an extra space in the command line. I use the following line: " setup / product server" instead of " setup /product server" . Once I figured it out it was so smoothly. So, it was my mistakes. It is working awesome now I have windows eleven and I am really excited. Thank you once again. I have already subscribed and hit my reminder bell. I look forward to other videos from you.

    Thanx . Yes that worked fine. I was doing it as I watched your video. The only issue I had was a number of duplicate desktop icons with a digit 1 after their name. I wonder how long before Microsloth kills this method of updating . I did this update from 23h2 to 24h2 on a i5 - 2500 CPU, 16 Gig ram and SSD. Now to see if the updates still work.

    • @jensdbe
      @jensdbe  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So far, as has been the case with all previous releases of Windows 11 as well, updates seem to come in fine. Only a large feature update (like 23H2, 22H2, and so on) required some manual actions in the past. Let's hope it stays this way :)

    • @jensdbe
      @jensdbe  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@shawn2071 Afraid it's not that simple. Without support for that instruction, the code simple does not run on a CPU without SSE4.2. The only way around that would be to change the source code and recompile the kernel but only Microsoft can really do that. Or to emulate the instruction somehow but that would require a low-level hypervisor. I don't expect there will be a fix/workaround this for a bare-metal installation unfortunately.

      Unfortunately if your CPU is missing that specific instruction that is part of SSE4.2, I'm pretty sure that it will not be possible in the future as well as this is a real hardware requirement. It would involve changes in the source code to not use that instruction or some kind of emulation. I would not count on bypassing this so I think you will need to stay on 23H2 if you have an CPU that is >15 years old.

    My only issue I have now since getting windows 11 24H2 in my unsupported Dell micro optiplex 7050 i7- 7th gen T , is that I can’t remove 8.63 gb of windows clean up files from disk utility or run a clean sfc scan in command prompt ( both instances as admin of course ) . I do not know what to do . I reinstalled windows 11 clean about 4 times and tried checking cbs logs to see where any errors lie and still no use , even after yesterdays ( Tuesday’s ) week patch updates . Still no luck . I guess I’m stuck with a lingering 10gb on my OS drive that will not clean up in command prompt sfc scans or dism commands anymore ?

      Was doing more research and AMD processors running SSE4A can run 24H2. I also ran the utility Coreinfo than runs in Windows Powershell and confirms I have SSE4A and it even showed SSE4.2 and that popcnt was supported. Sadly, I've seemed to have hit a real problem created by Microsoft. They've somehow managed to insert logic that will brick your system if your cpu was produced prior to 2008. Planned obsolescence is alive and well in the Microsoft world.

    my Question is ........ *WHY would you want to "upgrade" to Windows 11 ?*
    #1 the Software maker ( Microsoft ) is telling you which Hardware you have to have
    #2 they put all kinds of stuff in it, that you may not want on your computer
    #3 they pretty much monitor how you use your computer and
    #4 you got to "register" with them or else you can't use it !
    plus every Hacker in the world is going to jump on the new System to explore weaknesses !
