I love when my TH-cam favorites cross connect, not even joking! Also sidenote, after watching you tear apart and remote control convert the flat deck crane, huge amounts of respect for your skills and ingenuity 😮
Dunkin Donuts home brewed coffee for me on weekends. Not a bad price at Costco. Time for cup number 2. Doc ratted me out to my Bebita Wife to cut back on my coffee drinking. 4 cups a day now. Gotta have a couple after my afternoon nap after all.
You got some work ethic Sam, a good guy helping out another good guy. 2 of my go to TH-cam channels crossing over. Seeing you with the C&C crew would probably be a riot.
It’s very pleasing to see You Tubers resourcing parts and information from each other, it’s definitely a win win for them and the subscribers. Thanks for the video, appreciated it and the your time.
Showed this to a buddy and I had to call him out and call him an idiot. His comment was “That looks pretty easy”. Apparently he doesn’t understand how much work and knowledge that is required to do this job without causing any damage or killing yourself! Impressively quick removal and install.
That ripper will sure be the final piece to make C and C s TD a monster. It sure will be a great machine for its next owner. I've been following their progress with the work they have been doing to it. Between them, You, Matt, Wes, and Warren at Western Truck and Equipment, and of course Area Diesel, its a turbocharged maintenance weekend for us here. Keep up the great content. Bill
The second channel I follow with a reference to Zippo today, love it! We live in Bradford, Pa, home of Zippo and my wife retired from there after 42 years. Those tape measures were/are neat, use one as well.
OMG! Using a heavy duty forklift to loosen a nut! I'm thinking those were tightened over-spec. 😉 You boys are dealing with some big tools. Thanks for posting this, Sam.
Looking like it's going to be fun finding where that water is getting into the tranny. Definitely can't wait to see some episodes popping up in my feed of you guys tearing into the tranny and clutch pack rebuilds.
You can bet that's not a Harbor Freight wrench you absolutely put to the test that's a good wrench my friend....you impress me with your creativity and thinking that you have to do working on this old stuff,.....wrench on Sam really enjoy your channel
I have struggle with an 115mm nut,i was heated, banged, svared, and several trys with all those things at the same time, but the solutions was to drill and tap in 3 flates and screw in grease nipples, heat it up and press in grease and an home made spanner from 2" steel plate with an excavator in the end...it come loose
The more I see of those dozers the more I am amazed of their build quality. I would have to say they were the best dozers for that era and would put them up against anything built today.🍻
I watched a video yesterday on clints channel and as soon as i saw your notification i thought you were doing the deal have a great day in the shop gonna be a wet one today from Ambridge PA!.
Hey Sam, I was kind of wondering if, after you heated the nuts, could you have soaked them down with some Kroil like Matt uses on Diesel Creek? Was just wondering. Not being critical, in the least!! Please don’t take it that way!!! Love watching your videos and watching you and Matt working together on projects!!! The camaraderie between you, Diesel Creek, and C&C Equipment !!! You ALL are some very talented people!!!
Nice work and as a bonus you did not destroy anything. Having 1.5" studs means its hard to twist one off however using a forklift as a wrench lever is one way to overcome even bolts this size. Who made (what Brand were the wrenches) the combi wrenches they are stout!! Again Congrats on a great outcome. Ray Stormont
Straining and heavy breathing seem to go hand in hand with anything bulldozer related. I find it interesting that the stud for attachments is related to draining the transmission I’d figure a dedicated drain plug.
The damage to the disks has been done as evidenced by what was found in the strainer. The oil change would cost over $1000 so I will wait until I am rebuilding
I drained about the same quality of oil from our 125e (IH/dresser) About 20 gallons from the 13gallon? rear Gearbox. No clue were the water was getting in - could just be years of condensation... (no clue when it was changed last)
This is why I leave Sam's videos for a day or two. I don't want to waste time watching something that doesn't require expending a lot of energy doing or un-doing sticky hardware. Sam as usual, you've blown the opposition out of the water (or was that gear oil?). Bet you were glad someone wanted something off the td25 that you were glad to part with. Clinton would not be someone I'd expect to want a ripper, but then again you never know with him. He has plans, just don't ask what!
Great video bro am looking forward to see what Clinton does with it but sounds like his TD25 is sold, he does have a backup sitting in his yard though. Safe travels. Ken.
My luck all that water would have froze and snapped the unit in half. Every dang winter something freezes and bust when I think everything has been winterized.
Hello. I know nothing about bulldozers but was that bolt the actual drain plug or did someone drill and tap a fixture hole through into the transmission sump???
As an old timer, I suspect that someone put water in that transmission. Probably had a hose break, fixed it and because it blew out all the hydraulic fluid, filled it with water 'just long enough' to move the machine. I've seen worse.
I enjoy the content of your videos. I am hoping you can help me out a little. I have a TD15B I am looking for parts for, Particularly a transmission. If you know where I might find one. Thank you.
Mate l am still puzzled by you not removing the water - oil mix , it's not good leaving it in the crankcase , have l got this right or am l Confused like everybody else 🥴🥴🥴🥴😮😮🙄
I agree it’s not great however it needs to be completely flushed and refilled and the water leak fixed. You’re looking at over $1,000 in oil to refill that case not counting what you flush it with. So if I tear down to rebuild it will be flushed and filled at that time
Greatly appreciate you getting that off for us!
Crappy weather for sure. Im also glad to see you got the hitch
Thanks again
Can't wait to see that bad boy on your td-25 Clint!
@@pmiller7886 well I may or may not of sold it already
But don’t worry I have a backup
@@C_CEQUIPMENToh hell no !!, after all that work???at least someone will get an ace machine 😢
No problem thank you! I hope it all works out in its new life
So at least the rain held off well done. 👍

Well done Sam, it always takes longer than you think.
You can say that again lol
I rebuilt a TD15 trans with the exact same problem. Couldn't find where the water got in. Great videos.
That’s wild. And it didn’t get more water after the rebuild?
I sealed everything I could think of. Raised vents up with pipe nipples and all sorts of other fingers crossed stuff. @@ScrappyIndustries

Cool video Sam. I have a lotta time in the seat of those 25s. Loved that KT making power . Glad to hear you are still wanting to go thru the trans .
They sound so good
That is the largest and heaviest paint swatch ive ever seen.now you can match Clints dozer perfectly. great job on the removal!
Ooo 1st look at Clints finished old iron in the paint.
Great video mate thanks again hope you all are doing well and your family and friends too

Like hell that was tight, we see alot of corrroded nuts bolts here in England, oxy gun only way , thanks for sharing Sam,
That was some serious work! Glad it was you and not me doing it. Thanks a bunch.
Sam you work very hard for Living Thats why like your channel .
I appreciate that!
Dude!
That intro was classic!!
Nice work, Sam! I ran a Dresser TD8H for several years as a wildfire dozer operator. Most dependable machine I've ever ran.
Thank you for the ride👍👍👍👍
I like watching you and Diesel Creek
Another job done well Sam, your a good Man , that knows what he’s doing 👍👍👍😎😎😎🍮🍮🍮❤️
you know its tight when torque multiplier won't shift it!
Good to See You Scrappy Sam
That must be one hell of a wrench to stand that kind of torque. I bet they dont make them anymore. Love the content, wish you could post more often.

Sure is nice to have someone to share the grunts with... Looked like a pretty good fork lift driver.... Go Go Go!!!
Morning Sam watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧 👏 👍 Great Video Sam 📹 👍
I had one of those Zippo tape measures
it came with our caddy back in the 70's (it had the Cadillac emblem on it)

Good morning to you
Sam ebay has lots of those zippo tape measures 😊
Guess you figured out, need more Uga-Duga’s and big air if you gonna tackle things like that.😉
Fence post brother. Works everytime ❤❤
Did you consider draining the contaminated fluid and replacing with fresh oil to see if anything improves?

No that is definitely not transmission fluid but definitely milkshake.
I love trying to.work on stuff outside in PA...😂
It’s a fun time!
Tough rusted nuts and bolts, spray first with Liquid Wrench. If no go, use heat too.
Heat those bolts/nuts red hot and quench with cold water. Works more times than not. Work smarter, not harder.
Good content. 👍
I was thinking liquid wrench cant be tight if its liquid

Did u break the oil dipstick?
Hmm it didn’t seem bad but I will recheck it
I would have to guess that you own the only DJI Pocket 3 in the world that has been inside a transmission housing 😂
