Mine had stalling issues, when riding short distance the engine stall had taken out the fuel pump change strainer fitted back in place, got a new battery, start yes, goes for spin then the issues revealed that it's the stator not charging battery, gonna wait for spare parts from shopper.

Good morning.Just a question.I have a problem of alternator with my versys 2008, same motor. It's my daily bike to go to my work on the highways near Paris. I put a new alternator after an electric leak 2 years ago after the covid and today, same problem, my battery is weak...
So, i decided to open the carter of the alternator and , surprise, 0.5 liter of oil failed from it.
Do you have an idea of the cause, a bad seal?...I didn't chute with my bike...I think the problem is not only the alternator now..Thanks for your response.
    Have a nice day

Hi there. Just so you know, there is supposed to be oil in the alternator. I'm not sure if you have used a translator - but I'm a bit unsure if I have the correct information. Anyway, the stator is probably causing the issue if you are sure your battery is ok. It could also possibly be the regulator/rectifier. Usually in these situations, the battery is the most common fault, followed by the stator, the. Possible wiring issue or regulator/rectifier...

You probably want to as you'll need to put silicone on the gasket to seal it.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your comment! It keeps me motivated to keep making vids. I would definitely use a fuel /sensor safe silicone silicone sealant as stated in the workshop manual. 👍

@TheDeepPlanet I fought it for about 30 min then followed how you put the gears in first. Slipped right in. Great video
