I have flat feet, when I get shoes for walking or running, I go to a shoe store that is specific for runners. They will look at you walk without shoes and even put you on a treadmill if necessary. They will recommend the correct shoes for your activity. Normally, it is at no extra cost to you. This way of purchasing shoes is very helpful, I find them more comfortable and healthier for my foot in the long run (pun not intended but still fun). :)
I average just over 10,000 steps a day for the last 6 months.. while on Carnivore.. sometimes breaking into a run. Male, 62. Great after a good meaty breakfast.
Buy running/walking shoes at a running store- the owners are typically “runners” as well as the employees. They are far better at getting you in the correct show- even for walkers. Good video- I love walking too. Usually you’ll pay Full retail for the shoes, but you’ll get professional service and into the correct shoe based on your foot and walk profile. Hint: use the work Hike instead of Walk- it sounds way more impressive. You can even log it in Strava as a hike too. Hahahahaha One more tip- consider Merrel (model: Moab 3) or Saloman trail running/hiking shoes. They are really good for walking too (and do a good job as daily wear shoes). I’ve owned the Moabs.. they were fantastic - even for long walks (hikes). But be sure to have a pro examine your feet and walking characteristics first- if at all possible.
I was a big walker in the past. Then back surgery put a stop to it in 2014. I have trying to re-incorporate in my day, but did something to left leg. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to go back to it, but want to try. I think it will help me lose the last 15 pounds and tone up a bit.
I hope you are able to get back out there, Karen. I've really been enjoying it. Today I got in some cold therapy because it was 40 degrees and I walked in a tank top. I felt great!
@MeatingWellness me too Cristie. That is the one thing doctor took me off of because of my slipped vertebrae. I lost a ton of weight and really toned up. It was my top priority up to 2013.
I love walking. It’s so relaxing and rejuvenating. Think how much people use to walk before cars. I think our bodies were literally made to walk.
Thanks Heidi. I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it too!
I always feel better when I get out and take a walk.
Yes, I didn't know how much better I'd feel!
I really like my HOKA's for walking right now. Yay for getting out in the sunshine!😊
Thanks for watching and for the shoe advice. I've really been loving being out in the sun.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for listening.

That's awesome! Sprinting is great. I've been doing sprints since October of last year.
I walk backwards at the track! ❤
Nice! What benefits do you notice from that?
