The Elgato Wave Mic Arm is a robust boom arm designed to hold any microphone you have. Compatible with 1/4, 3/8, and 5/8-inch mic mounts, Wave Mic Arm works right out the box with microphones weighing between 250 g / 0.55 lbs and 1,000 g / 2.2 lbs. It works great with my SHURE SM7B!

The big and long intro actually sold me. That exactly what I wanted to know since I have a fairly wide desk. Thank you!
aye. glad it helped man!
@@MurrayFrost I’ve been using it in my streams for the past week, absolutely love it! I have big desk so I can reach far and close places
at 3:11 I believe you accidentally said "Rode" Wave mic arm instead of Elgato. Dunno why i caught that lol keep up the good work!
Lol. Elgato themselves also pointed this out. Quite embarrassing but at least I know you were paying attention 👍😉
Very helpful video. I really liked that you covered pretty much everything to do with the mic, gave multiple options for how to set it up, and even lesser priced options to consider if your budget doesn’t allow you to buy this one.
Can it go perfectly parallel?
3:51 Buy an 'Extension Tube for Desk Stands'. It extends that part a few inches so you can twist it around 360. Yes, I know you shouldn't have to buy it but it's the solution you're looking for. (Old video I know but my answer is relavant for anyone thinking of buy this mic arm.)
Is fantastic I will buy one thanks for the review 😊😊
Nice video brother. How has that mic arm held up over the years?
Just bought one, your review was very helpful. Especially showing the adapters.....
Nice! Glad it helped!
Is the pin that fits into the holder on the countertop made of plastic? O_O
I actually got the low profile a few months ago and hated it. But had given my other boom arm to a friend.
Bought the Blue compass and found out the Wave:3 was too light for it.
Returned it and ordered this one. I’m really excited to use it.
My only complaint about the arm is the packaging, there's nothing to protect the arm from the side you open it up from and I had a few scuffs on mine that didn't buff out but still an amazing product and arm very happy with my purchase!
yeah would get the low profile but its not available so its been out for about 4 months now but this does look cool and since you can remove the extender i might just get this now and its the same price. thank you!
I have a samson g track pro, it is a 780g bulky boy, this bulky should support it no problem, right?
Which do you think is better the high profile or low profile arm?
I ordered it today because the innogear didn't fit in my desk.... and I also loved the wave arm design and I have a shure mv7 so being lightweight, it was a concern for me
You won’t be disappointed
Thanks. I'm interested in the low profile.
that video will be coming next week if I am on time
I just received mine today. I like it a lot. I'm going to use it with 600-750gr microphones. Some time ago I bought another much cheaper brand and it was really bad.
But I wanted to ask if it is normal for the first part of the arm to be so hard. In your video I see that you move it very easily. And mine is too hard to extend horizontally. Thanks.
You should be able to loosen it but it should extend all the way
Hi I've Been watching this video so many times too just understand something so in the intro there is the microphone arm and a black microphone I have to buy the microphone arm but the microphone doesn't come with the Microphone arm package or does it?
What mic is that one on the arm I would like to have that one could you please tell me:)
Czy to ramie ma trzpienie, ktore wklada sie w uchwyt na biurku w calosci z litego metalu, czy jest to rurka?
Hi, is the mount clamp totally metal? Looks like the part above the base is plastic. Thanks!
It’s all metal but the sleeve on top of the clamp where the mic arm slides in is a hard premium plastic
Comment on regle la rigidité du bras svp?
I have the Q2U Samson mic which weighs 318g. Can I use the Elgato mic arm, or will it not be suitable? Do I really have to use the counterweight on the Elgato?
The mic arm will do fine with that mic. If it is not heavy enough, the counter weight helps a lot and it's not in the way. Super streamlined and slim weight. You can't really tell its there if you have that on.
Good video. Can you tighten the middle joint as mine seems a bit loose. Thanks
Yes. You can make them tighter if you want
@@MurrayFrost do you know how? I can’t see any screws or anything? Thanks
@@lambo7 I kinda of would like to know this too.
@@macmovieman1 you can’t tighten it. I sent mine back in the end.
@@lambo7 You can tighten the horizontal rotation by using the allen wrench they provided on the sides
Bad English incoming:
I just bought a Blue Compass. But I'm using the "Roccat Torch" mic, in comes in with a weight of around 300 gram.
So the Blue Compass right now, can't hold it, it just go straight up all the time, with a small force. it takes 1-3 sec before it pull ups about 5-10 cm.
I can see it can take 250 grams, because of the counter weight. Can you please confirm for me, that is real.
Like it works, and you can completely free move it around, and every time it also stays after you release the hand from it?
The Elgato Mic arm will support it. It is a very good mic arm and can move anywhere. Best mic arm out there
What DSLR camera desk mount is that?
This one amzn.to/3AyGumf
I’m curious, what XLR cable are you using?
Just a normal white one. amzn.to/3lXTxr1
@@MurrayFrost Thank you! Great video.
does anyone how large the clamp mouth is? unfortunately my desk is pretty thick at about 4.5 inches
2:53 Plastic too ?! wow thats a no go thats the main thing wehre you pull always over time it will snap D:
It’s metal inside. Plastic cover for looks.
Still happy with it?
Also, any chance you know the stem diameter? Hoping it would work in different mounts as I don't want to use a desk clamp.
I love it. By far my favorite mic arm ever. It can go on some pretty thick desks
@@MurrayFrost Hi, good to hear. Sorry, by stem, I mean the pole bit that goes into the clamp. I want to know if it is the standard 12.7mm diameter and so will be able to fit other mounts (like the Heil drilled desk or wall mounts).
@@Tephnos Stem diameter is 1.5cm so slightly larger than what you're expecting.
@@pcummins well shit. They really need more mounting options than just a desk clamp.
Is it good with blue Yeti mic ?
It’s good with any mic
@@MurrayFrost thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Hello, i want to use this arm with shure sm7b and shock mount, but i heard the max load capacity of this arm is 1kg but the shure sm7b with the shockmount from the rode the load is about 1.4/1.5kg. Idk if with this setup the arm can support everything. Can you help me?
I don’t know what shock mount you want to use with this but it’s not really needed
@@MurrayFrost thank you
does it come with the raiser, anyone know?
It comes with an extension for hight, yes.
@@MurrayFrost Yas, thank you!!!
how'd you get the SM7B on there? mine won't screw on
The mic arm came with adapters. It will fit on just fine. I did not need any additional purchases.
@@MurrayFrost is there a way you could possibly show me how? ive tried using the adapters
Made the mistake of ordering mine on Amazon I ordered it last month and it won't be here till February 6th
Hopefully it arrived by now. :)
can this boom arm hold a hyper x quadcast?
yes. any mic
So far mine has been holding my Hyper X Quadcast S very very well without any problems
$50 more and you get the gator frameworks deluxe, it's SUPER sturdy & comes with an integrated cable
Never knew about it
The gator frameworks deluxe also comes with unreplaceable cables that will malfunction in 2 weeks and will make the product unusable.
