Wife Bought the starter bundle on elgato...Dx mic, wave Xlr and boom arm...for just $250, so far I luv it, I have the Rode usb and an old AT2035 on my Focusrite...but the ease of everything is what I was looking for. coming from Protools and Mboxes smh. found your vid looking for insight...appreciation

Good video. In fact it's an infomercial, however, there is a lot of good information about this product. About the fan noise: Remember, you don't really need an electronic solution. Just put the fan on the floor.
What are your thoughts on the new device that plugs into the streamdeck + to make an XLR connection.. Would you use that over something like a rodecaster?
Probably need to move the mic closer, make sure you are talking into the top of it directly, and check your noise gate or noise removal plugins if you use either likely needs adjustment
I'm getting this mic, just curious my girlfriend is putting her gaming setup next to me, is it likely her voice will be picked up in my mic if we played and recorded a op game?
Remember the filters I was using were an unreleased version so I could get the video out in time. It’s not perfect when it’s full blast but when you turn the noise suppression down a bit it’s much nicer and if you don’t have a crazy situation with a fan blowing right into it
You keep saying that the Wave XLR interface comes with the Elgato software, like that's a reason to buy the Elgato interface. But I'm pretty sure (someone please tell me if I'm wrong) the Elgato software can always be used with the Wave DX microphone, no matter what interface you're using. I know that is certainly true of the Elgato Wave 3 condenser microphone. In fact, as long as you have the Wave 3 mic hooked up, you can use the Elgato software with any other microphone or interface, and I assume the same is true of their new dynamic mic, the DX.
So the only way to be able to have the Elgato wave link software up and running on your computer is to have a wave 1, 3 or wave xlr. You will not be able to install wave link properly if you do not have one of those 3
Great video man. Between Elgato Noise Removal and Nvidia Noise Removal, which one would you recommend? I'm not sure if there is a significant difference between the two. I have only used Elgato Noise Removal so far. I'll get a RTX 3060ti soon.
So the RTX is much better as of right now especially since you can control how strong you want it. Elgato noise removal is great but no way of choosing how strong you want it BUT Elgato is working on updating that.
It’s probably also worth mentioning that RTX is glitching at the moment for some people. With the filter on, some audio clutches in and out every 10 sec or so. Elgato is working on fixing that too
Well, the shure mv7 is a super nice mic. Personally you can’t really go wrong with most xlr mics $100 or more. It boils down to you. Will selling your mic help you? What do you need that extra bit of money for? You could get the Wave DX and have a little left over to invest into something else. That’s up to you
You will need some sort of XLR preamp meaning that the Wave XLR or any other mixer like the goxlr, focusrite scarlet, or anything else is needed. The Wave DX is an xlr mic and you need to be able to convert that xlr signal into usb. The Wave XLR is a great solution to that.

No joke, this would literally be the only thing I would need in order to make my setup an Elgato-only streaming setup.
I did it. I bought the Wave DX and sold my Shure SM7B.
