Good show with the mask chad. I hope joliene is wearing one as well. Your followers are very concerned about your health and safety. We love you guys. ❤
watching you from ohio everyday Chad my dad my brother and i watch you all the time my dad has frontal lobe dementia and watching you work on cars makes the old him come around to visit cause its something he understands thank you for sharing your trade with the world
Glad to see your wearing a dust mask buddy. I'm 70 yrs old with COPD from not protecting my lungs years ago. Now i can't do anything, it gets worse every year so keep wearing it dude. Jolene don't you stand there filming if the air in the room is full of dust. Set up fans to suck it out of the room or you wear one also! Thats the Hiltz safety meeting for the day!
In response to Allan Rose, I believe Chad's approach is borne out of his Discovery Channel experience, where he had 30 days to complete whatever he started. I also believe that everything will eventually be completed. But in the meantime, he's interested in teaching and sharing how he does things. Completely finishing a project is not his goal in my belly button opinion. It's not the destination. It's the journey. And we're all along for the ride.
Opinions are like belly buttons everyone has one ! I appreciate everything Chad does not every car builder takes the time to teach people how to do this and all the tips and advice is FREE ! WELL IM ALL IN when it's free and I'm watching every day ! Thumbs-up Jolene and Chad !
To Wine Dave. Please don't say "You're exactly right" referencing my comment, and then go on to trash Chad. You are entitled to your opinion. But it's not one I share.
Back in '78, I worked for a guy in a body shop. I learned how to block sand. That was it. I've learned more from your videos in a couple weeks than I did from that sketchy dude in 6 months! Good stuff!
Hi chad and Jolene, I'm currently working on a 1980 Ford mark 5 cortina with two doors. I'm from the UK, and love to follow your 1958 Ford thunderbird and I absolutely adore it, absolutely brilliant I must say. Your knowledge is second to none and all your skills, including your attitude. You explain everything in detail and how it is; straight to the point. Honestly I've learnt more than I ever have before especially on body filling and preparation. I watch your videos everyday, it's become part of my routine. I have to say, Jolene's welding is fantastic. What a brilliant woman. God bless.
I never thought about the fillers having variances in hardness🤔. I had found going back and filling small areas never worked well on fenders with compound curves and reverse curves. 1960-64 Corvairs I found cut best using airfile with standard blocking crisscross pattern working in the body lip all around the car. Great episode, thank you! hance
This is great. it's so helpful to see in real-time how long this process takes. So often we watch stuff on TH-cam and think "that looks like fun, I could do that" then when we try to do it ourselves we find out, "wow, this takes a long time". I remember watching "This Old House" back in the day and thinking "Home remodeling looks like fun" But Bob Villa had Norm doing all the actual work off camera. I don't have a Norm to do my work.
Looks great! 1940 Plymouth coupe here in SE PA. I think the 55 to 57 T-Bird rear window would be just small enough to give a nice metal border around the glass. Great video Jolene!
Thanks again for the lessons. I've been told that if you don't learn something new every day, you've wasted a day. The little jig with your ditty gave more than just Jolene a giggle. I think its healthy for an adult to be a little silly by times. Keeps your inner child smiling. I'm working on a trike and these body work tips are invaluable. I hope it turns out as good as the picture in my head!! I think you are keeping Fina out of the shop because of the dust, that stuff isn't good for lungs, good on you for masking up, I hope Jolene did as well. I'll be looking for you tomorrow.
You're a great teacher Chaddy, I really like how you explain things over and over again. sometimes it takes a few times for it all to sink in the old brain. Or there are now watchers on your channel that has not seen your work being done, and they appreciate your explanations more than a couple times. In the end it all make perfect sence and easy to follow your guidence. Thank you both for sharing all the awesome learning experiences.
Watching from the Finger Lakes region of NY. My current project is the restoration of a Jersey Speed Skiff. Fabrication and bodywork skills are needed in boat repair as well so I always learn something new watching Bad Chad.
Your treatment of the body rr deck dip in the center to avoid a dip in the glass by adding a U-turn in the deck drop is BRILLIANT. Looks beautiful, and looks factory, too.
Videos are getting better. Good on ya sharing this knowledge. I used to do body work for 13 years. Still do on my own projects and teaching my son. Very important to pass these trades on.
Great job Chad I really appreciate with the extra skills you show us. A small rear window out of a 48 to 53 chevy pickup would be perfect for the bird !!!!
Chad. Consider using a vacuum with a hepa filter. It removes the dust rather than moving it around by brushing. Also keeps dust down from the air....your being, lungs and all your shop space. We do this in my construction business. Vac all the time sweep very little. Ends up saving time overall and makes for a nicer work space.
Hi Chad and Jolene my wife and I watch you all the time. You were asking for ideas on the back window for the thunderbird. I was thinking a window from a 1960 to a 1965 Ranchero or maybe a 1964 -1974 el Camino would work. Oh yeah forgot to say where we’re from. We’re from Deary Idaho, my project is a 1938 Alis Chamler model B Tractor. Thank you for what you do. You two are wonderful. And fun to watch.
Hey Chad and Jolene! I watch every day and I’m from the ozark’s in Missouri. My projects consists of a 1958 f-100 step side a 1979 international scout II and a 1969 VW bus I would like to see you put an oval back window in the bird just my belly button!! Thanks for all your guys hard work and daily inspirations!!
Glad to see you put on a mask Chad, hope Jolene got one on too. I ruined my back at work and I'd do anything to recover what I've lost but it's not too late for you bud. So keep playing it smart, we all, want to see you enjoy your success. btw " I say, square window because of the square look of the outline of the back roof. " Enjoyed this lesson on sanding Chad, it clicked when you showed the chalkboard illustration.
Hi Chad and Jolene, I was so glad to see you wearing the mask today. I know it’s an encumbrance especially when you have to put glasses on as well. A really big thank you. Live long and prosper my friend. Lawrence, Bournemouth, England.
Chad I know you will getter done and it will be righ and I watch you everyday at 5 pm in Louisville KY and I've have learned alot watching you todo and not what todo and I thank you for the time to explain what you do. No Jolene I haven't forgotten you so I will say hi to you and say thank you for keeping the camera and doing a great job. God bless you and Chad and have a blessed evening and night
Just a tip for everybody if your air tools are running slow take some brake cleaner and spray it in the air inlet to clean it out then re oil it there are veins in there and if they are sticking it will run slow and they have a muffler on them that plug up looks like a filter clean or replace it. I was a maintenance man for a boat manufacturer and rebuilt a lot of air tools and fiber glass chop guns and pumps.
I think that later on ,in Chads journey , he will be able to do the finishing of all his creations. That’s the gravey, those videos in a few years will be even better! Thxs Joelen your a good team together 🇨🇦🍺🥓👍😎
Well here we are and again your on it I’ve always done the 40 to 80 we’ve started going to far my paint generally comes out nice, bottom line you rock and we love watching ya ever day! Les 37 Chevy pro street, Sacto Ca
I’m in Oakville, Ontario. Seeing this car in bare metal makes me think it came from a custom shop, not a standard automobile maker. It must have been a challenge for the original production team to pull off. Today, all cars in a classification have a similar wheelbase, sight lines, passenger compartment, Etc. Plus, when the shape is tested to get a certain coefficient of drag, it’s easy to see why we all get the same thing! Anyway,, this ‘T-4-2’ is a beauty. Cheers, guys.
I hate to be a pain in the butt but the single elastic masks is about the same as wearing no mask. The 3M N95 double elastic masks are the ones to use. You guys are great! I enjoy your videos and watch them almost every day. Keep up the good work.
Just a 3m respirator is easier to get on and off than pulling rubber bands over your head. And filters most 99 of the particulate. We use them in our construction co. The thin pink filters work well. Also filter some of the vapors from the chemicals. And the weld fumes. Great units
I enjoy watching you daily chad an Jolene,,I don’t do my own stuff anymore because of my age but I don’t miss any of your programs,,thank you guys for being here like you are,,hi to fina too, luv ya’s,,👍👍😀

Love the T-Bird look, as far as the back window, no doubt in my mind, Chad will not be looking for any specific car's rear window, he will go to a junk yard and walk around and see something he thinks would look good. I don’t come to this channel for comedy or song and dance, I like the way he goes about showing us how to and why he’s doing it his way. Process people process, as Chad would say. 😂🤣👨🏭
Good evening jolene and chad hope your having a wonderful day today and thank you for sharing your videos I in joy coming home from work and watching a real show
Of all the car restoration shows I watch, including this one, I never see anyone using an air file. I was in the collision industry my whole career, and I used mine almost everyday.
The Ford Oval window would look amazing. No doing a project at the moment, but you sure have put the bug in my ear to get me inspired to do something. Obviously I would not do it as well as you do, but I can certainly use the same enthusiasm you do to do the best I can at my level.

Good Morning :) yeah, the fill the lows and then skim the whole area is the fastest and best way to get it spot on. I've tried filling small areas and just sanding and you end up wasting time for poor results. Is it too cold to open the roller door and put a fan over the area to reduce the dust? The fan method works the best because the gasses go away too.
Good show with the mask chad. I hope joliene is wearing one as well. Your followers are very concerned about your health and safety. We love you guys. ❤

These in depth videos are like getting master classes for free. Learning a lot. Thanks for the great work that you both do!
I don't even fix up cars, but I like to listen to this guy talk about stuff.
Great personality dude.

Probably the best explaination of sanding and filling ever . Great job dude.
Oval for the window would be awesome! With port holes on the sides. Good job Chad and Jolene!
I was thinking the same
I don't agree, I always thought that port hole windows looked tacky. It would ruin the clean straight lines of the car.
Excellent demonstration excellent teaching excellent job
TY Chad & Jolene, you do more effective teaching than i have ever seen
Always wanted to do body work, you have convinced me I can do this! Great Teacher!!!
Videos are getting better. Good on ya sharing this knowledge. I used to do body work for 13 years. Still do on my own projects and teaching my son. Very important to pass these trades on.
Love how you teach step by step Chad. Love Jolene on the camera!!! Watching every day from Pennsylvania!! 😎
Good episode Chad and Jolene..Love the lessons you are sharing..This car will be amazing..
You are a good teacher! Thank you!
Great job Chad I really appreciate with the extra skills you show us. A small rear window out of a 48 to 53 chevy pickup would be perfect for the bird !!!!
You could even add the corner windows to eliminate those blind spots too! Woopee!

You and Jolene are the best out there I watch you guys every day 👍
I like the way he explain the ocean floor makes a lot of sense to me I’m going to try and use that concept next time I do bodywork
On the window some patterns might be good for experimenting but I"d guess rectangular will be best. Thanks you two!!
Skvělá práce, těším se na krásné zadní okno a boční elipsovita okénka. Děkuji. Mějte se krásně. Bobes. Česká republika

T42 GOOD NAME! Dennis in VANCOUVER WA USA
Since the hood and trunk lid have been stripped . are we going to see this one all the way to paint? I"m hoping so.
Yeah that method works fine its been in use a long time, especially handy fixing hail damage on used cars, chunderburd is looking nice.
Looking super smooth, and I'm looking forward to seeing more sanding tomorrow or tonight if you decide to post another one tonight. Great job Bro.
That little rebate in the parcel shelf looks factory. Fantastic.
Great video thank you. I like these videos much better than the programs. Thanks again cheers to ya.
Thank you Chad, you taught this guy more about equal. Most important. Thank you.
Glad to see the masks enjoy your awesome vids just looking out for each other love tips and content craigger
Back window: 1966 Mercury, Monterey Breezeway... Love your work, Chad and Jolene.
Great video again showing it all, Jolene as always perfect filming the whole process, thanks for sharing
Thank you for caring about your fans by listening to our safty hints. Don't forget about Jolene too
dude you videos are re igniting my passion for body work
I hate to be a pain in the butt but the single elastic masks is about the same as wearing no mask.

Great tips. Thanks 👍
Chad is a good teacher.
Love the T-Bird look, as far as the back window, no doubt in my mind, Chad will not be looking for any specific car's rear window, he will go to a junk yard and walk around and see something he thinks would look good. And when he is done, it will end up looking good. My opinion is I don't like the idea of the porthole windows, as it will definitely change the look of the top. I also would not reinstall the chrome strips at the base of the side of the top. Love the daily videos, from Ohio.
From Indiana here...great work, watch daily
Watching from Arizona everyday! Thank you both for making my day...again!
Good evening, chad and Jolene. I enjoy every video in the evening. Don’t watch much television anymore more. You guys and girls are more entertaining and a lot more of You Tubers. I want to thank you .Steve from st.Stephen. N.B
Hello Chad and Jolene and Fina all the way from Florida working on a 1985 F150 and a 1995 chevy Tahoe 4x4 mud tires
I love this channel. I learn something new all the time. I'd go rectangle window..
A flat file air sander works wonders for sanding flat panels.
Hutchins for the win in my opinion.
Yes, 👍anyway to cut the long block n guide coat hours😰
She always looks amazing ❤
Excellent information. All great tips. I was looking for the ocean floor today. You have definitely help me. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Ron
Two thumbs up for wearing the mask bad Chad I think all of us as young Fellers growing up in the Annapolis Valley who caught chickens none of us wore a mask but that is not the right choice to do I know too many people that have caught chickens and worked in those chicken plants for many years that got cancer 20 years later
Thank you both for protecting by mask! I can hear you loud and clear...
Excellent tutorial young Chad.
Great tips , and most appreciated. One question : what do you use for a mixing board ? Thank you..
Great job today really explained well. Car is looking good keep up the amazing work 👏!!!!!
Thk you for the content glad to see you are wearing a mask today , excellent camera work Jolene as always

Just a thought and a idea for the rear window.
Try to find a rear safari window for a VW T1 / T2 to fit into the rear window sheet of metal.
A safari window is able to open as it is hinged.
Another idea would be to install a power window that is able to slide down just like the one in late 60´s and 70´s US station wagons.
Love to see your daily vids .
Cheers from Denmark
like your rear safari idea for a back window. but he will put in the window of his choice
Mercurys of the early 60's had an electric rear window, that would be sharp
thank you for sharing, great advice and great axplanation
Watching daily from Chenango Forks, New York. Project is a '35 Chevy 2dr sedan. Almost warm enough to get out to the garage and get back to it!
Good Morning :)
yeah, the fill the lows and then skim the whole area is the fastest and best way to get it spot on.
I've tried filling small areas and just sanding and you end up wasting time for poor results.
Is it too cold to open the roller door and put a fan over the area to reduce the dust?
The fan method works the best because the gasses go away too.
Its looking good
Thanks Chad you explained that will ,good job.
A++ explanation of the ocean floor Chad. Even I understood that lol. Great camera work again Jolene..Cheers
