The women are currently being put through a dry run of what their potential reign could be like and what kind of Miss Universe they could be. Miss Universe does not end when the stage lights go out, You must demonstrate your ability to maintain the crown for a year. You must show that you can handle the fans, charm the media, and sustain the intense schedule. If you cannot survive one week you cant be Miss Universe for one year. Coaches should ( most are) be in contact with contestants during their pre competition activities to be sure their head is in the game, outfits should be planned ahead of time. They are in a difficult competition and the longest JOB INTERVIEW of their lives. Diehard fans are well aware, many times women have been knocked out of competition for things that occurred long before prelims began. The organization and judges do pay attention to what happens off stage and it does have effects. In Miss Universe EVERYTHING MATTERS.

There are many queens, particularly the African ones, who do not have teams. They're given a gown and a plane ticket and that's it. Yet they do not arrive at MU looking like they're going to a picnic by the beach

You need to please them with whatever you say but at the same time create some space so that you wouldnt suffer if you say something that they wont tKe lightly.

Yeah, comparing how Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Latin America and some other pageant loving countries are preparing for the competition like practicing the walk vs. how it was shown in Asya’s video on how she prepares (looking at her walk on a mirror only) it really shows she doesn’t have a team on her back to help her, but she really is beautiful.

This is my first year actually paying attention to Miss Universe, but there's something I've been hearing about the USA for years, "Estados Unidos está becada" aka "USA has a scholarship on the pageant". I remember watching MU when I was younger and not really understanding why USA moved onto the next round while some other girls didn't. I hope this doesn't come off as offensive because it's not meant to be an attack on the contestants (I literally don't know them), but as a new pageant fan, I don't see USA as a powerhouse and this year has just cemented that idea. I truly do hope the new director takes charge and changes things up because I know that the US has the potential and some advantages (like English as 1st language, for example) that they could use in their favor and put out great queens.
When i saw again the performance of Miss USA Asya branch...at Miss USA 2020... i was so amaze... the walk was great and the Q and A were powerful and strong... she answered the questions perfectly and full of passion...

As far as I can remember, that is one of the Filipina queens issues wayback before they were given the freedom to choose the evening gowns, the dresses from day 1 to finals night and their national costumes. It's a war that they fought for years and eventually they've won that battle.
You mean the dresses from Madame's baul? Cumbia! Those dresses that Diana would wear in the 80's and do not forget those hideous gowns from Alfredo Bazzura! Garbage! Good thing is, our queens can wear sackcloth and still make it elegant. These women can walk and project.

Asya has the potential but the lack of support lowers her self esteem and confidence, honestly it shows from make up to outfits. I feel that asya needs a team that can bring out the best in her. Her pre arrival outfit is not a strategy ,its a total neglect from an institution that brought her there. Sending love from the 🇵🇭

Paula already stated that she is not looking for the glist and glamour, she is all about the girls that have substances and that have something to offer to the world. She said having the prettiest face or best dress won’t means that’s you’ll place at miss universe. Miss usa is in chill mode until prelims and finals. She have been looking great the last few days. A lot of those glamorous girls are going to clap anyways so let them have their moment.

I really feel your disappointment for the Miss USA organization for wasting beautiful and intelligent women. I just can't imagine how Miss USA feels by the embarrassment coming from the Pageant critics. It seems that Miss USA organization is uninterested with Miss Universe and they don't like to prove that they're one of the Power House when it comes to Pageant. I’ve too commented on other forums regarding this same thing. Maybe you’ve also seen Dani Walker’s post on here, YT. I commented on that post and she shared some of her frustrations in this regard. I’m a former pageant girl and when I competed I didn’t have money but I took the pennies from my local win to prepare to the umpteenth degree for my state pageant. It has been embarrassing the lack of support Team USA has provided or rather NOT provided to Asya. She also bears some responsibility as to how she was presented and wanted to be supportive. I’ve also paid money in votes for Asya in the hopes she makes it to the semifinals at least on votes. How embarrassing it would be if USA doesn’t even place even though the pageant is here in the US. Fingers crossed, I’m hoping for the best...but I’m preparing for the worst. Hey, you’re in good company with your frustrations.

The aftermath of the pageant will be extreme. If Miss USA wins, then all the dramas in the preparation will be considered a strategy - trying to hold the best card on one's chest. If she loses, then she'll have the entire team to be disheartened of

You are right, her Miss USA headshot seems like they did her a middle school make up. Her Mississippi headshot definitely is so much better, a Miss U worthy one. She is so beautiful and gorgeous, but this is an international & most sought after pageant competition. Support from her country and her team matters a lot, not just for the competition but for her. I know it's all about the contestant, but with what the contestant is giving to represent USA she deserves more support than what we are seeing.
As frustrated as I am for her part, USA this year will surely not place. There is just no way she will navigate through with all the ladies she's up against...
