On extinction, you can tame a morellatops in the desert dome to tame velonasaurs early in the game. Due to their speed, you can ride up to a velonasaur before it gets the chance to shoot you. The velonasaur will, after a second or two, switch to its weak melee attack. You can then easily tranq it out while still mounted. Make sure to level the morellatop's health.
the morellatops is honestly one of the first dinos you should tame on the first map youll encounter it on, the scorched earth, while i honestly doubt you(or anyone whos not into the grind if it) would play with official settings, scorched earth is a lot harder starting out then the island is. welcome to scorched earth, be ready to die, a lot
Only con of the Morellatops in my opinion is that they won't fit through regular dino gates only behemoth gates... feels a bit silly to me width wise it looks like they should just fit. Height wise of course. I would say at least have a mate boosted pair with saddles when going out in SE, because Raptors can start chewing at you from the sides making it hard to attack them with your turning radius... and even better yet your own raptor pack for escort. Great early on in the game.
south 3 i think If youre talking about the valley with water in it, you just have to spawn in south 3 and find a way down (in the direction of the tall rocks) It's an amazing spot to start off.
I'm rather confused about these guys. I got one down using boomerang after chasing around for long time. It wouldn't give me the option to put stuff in inventory and just gave a message "Put taming item in slot" like you do when doing passive tames. Am I getting a glitch or something?
Hey can u do a titan boa how to basics also can’t wait to learn about more creatures even tho I don’t have access to them also did u ever get the 50 narcotic season that u were owed from season 4 XD
@@randomgamers9128 Yeah, I think that's one reason. The kibble system has been reworked now so the you can use a tapejara or an argentavis egg just as effectively well , unless you have more titanboas around you, then I guess you have to tame one of those instead. The eggs for superior kibble are: Allosaurus Argentavis Mantis Megalania Megalosaurus Moschops Snow Owl Spinosaurus Tapejara Titanoboa
it doesn't show up on the island. it is on scorched earth and ragnarok maps only. so if you have been playing the base map, this might as well not exist as far as you're concerned.
SharkForce hahaha you got me friend. I’ve been playing for two months and i do t sit around for hours staring at this fucking thing. Im ok with taking my time. Plus if i start on the other maps on PvP i may as well just give up entirely. Id be extremely difficult to get anything done. Im still a noob and don’t plan on watching how to videos. I just wanted to see some of the creatures on the map i may not have seen yet. You’re so aggressive bro cut back on the Mountain Dew
Heh, when you got frustrated with trying to KO it and pulled out the shotgun before the longneck I got all like "Phlinger nooo! Dont Pachyrhino the Morey!" Morellatops is one of the dinos I constantly overlook on Ragnorok. Whats funny about Rag is that theres a lot of little things that arent screaming obvious. Like for the longest time I had no idea I could use SE engrams there without having the DLC. Was wondering what I could use sand, salt, sulfur, cactus sap, silk etc. for but never figured it out until recently.
@@absoluteprawn3805 tbh taming these things early (around level 15) is such a pain and this video did nothing to help with that, I was pretty much forced to build a pen to tame this thing.
Morellatops: Great against Raptors.👍
Also Morellatops: Tamed via a bent stick. 🤷♂️👍

Little side note, when knocking them out avoid hitting the hump cause it's like trike's head ;)
same with the tail but not as bad
And the hitting the head has no buffs. So just aim for it’s stomach/chest area.
I've only recently gotten the dlc for Ark, so I will keep this herbivore in mind when I start on these biomes.
: )

I lost my first morellatops to a pack of raptors. I must get another one (if I can find a decent level)
Phlinger, please can you do a tusoteuthis basics?
Nothing about that creature is basic
Easy early game tame. Just need a level 250+ Thyla.
3:50 Getting the other Morellotops to trap the one you're trying to knock out...
Gimli son of Glóin:
That was deliberate...!
Where’s soloing the ark?
Ahh, another great episode of Ark Basics Coffee

I think you have to drop a fertilised egg in front of an unaggroed titanboa to tame them. I'm not sure of their uses though.
Elektra Kosh Edwards the only. Reason I’d tame one is kibble

I tamed my first morellatops on scorched after beating the overseer recently so this is kind of coincidental
its time to test the ravager in the caves on this island.
Dude you don't need a thyla just stay on a high position and when he walk away just chase him
