Good way to cheese melee is to imprison someone forever. Every time they prison break, you beat the crap out of them. Keep your other pawns on stand-by in case you lose, and always melee bare-handed.
I dont even play rimworld, but I've been bingeing these videos before bed every night and it helps a ton. Some things are hard to understand, but you do such a good job of getting the gist across. Calming and relaxing, hopefully I'm able to catch the stream at some point! Thank you for what you do!

Every once in a while I go back to one of your older videos... and on this one, around the 1hr20min mark you're talking about the mispronounciation of names and I am struck fully by some of the main reasons why I love your streaming videos 🙂 First off there is the fact that you're 100% able to not take yourself seriously and even make yourself the butt of a joke. I LOVE that about you :-) Secondly, the way chat responds to that. You have an awesome community. And I am quite certain you cherish that.
Yeah I'll probably have the same problem. I keep restarting the game when I things don't go exactly my way but I figured, shit happens in the game hahaha

Before the days of DVRs, which was before the days of streaming. Nowadays, pretty much everything is a VOD :P
It is a very neat concept to play standard games in ways that maximize exploiting it without cheat codes or mods. It speaks to a form of mastery I think.

Ps5 player here, for the first time I am playing on losing is fun, it’s so tough, I am on Randy as well. The toughest thing is their mood, eat with no table? Bang! Shout at everyone one and bring their mood down as well! I got 7 people, they spam 22 at a time in raids, still injured, they spam another wave, 2 guys down in the first month. So thanks for this video and all the other informative videos.

Yeah, it does seem to go that way. In my 20 year run on this channel we had a 2 year period of basically no attacks, and then 7 max raid point raids in 2 days, lol. What a jerk.

I don't know if you consider this cheese or if you already know this, but you can kinda cheese melee by beating up prisoners. Imprison a raider that has a shield and give your pawn shield as well. Gets you to level 20 really quickly.
@@skankhunt42_0 I was talking about melee shields. I forgot they come from CE because I haven't played without it for such a long time. But beating up prisoners also works without a shield, you just need like 2 prisoners instead of 1.
No shields in base game. Can still melee prisoner in general for xp, but if I was going to mod an item in for melee experience I might as well just mod in one of the training dummy mods or such :P
I had a semi cheese in melee in which I permenantly held open my prison door accidentally and the wounded,but patched up prisoner as soon as he was able to walk tried to escape and was downed with a single punch brought back to the prison patched up and repeat until my medics became Godly after patching him up so much and half of my colony became martial artists just punching the poor prisoner again and again
i noticed the door exploit 2 hours in, 1 adjacent door for room status, but a open diagonal door for pawn pathing allowing the main room to act as reliable killbox bait

I kept getting fence destroyed by lightning and animals running off to all sides of the compass. I got f*cked off with this bullsh*t after it happened for the fifth time. Now my animals live underground in the dark, sleep on concrete and eat only kibble.
Best burger I have tried so far was in Slovakia's city Stary Smokovec next to Tatra mountain, burger with gorgonzola cheese and sweat pear. That was amazing.
Big thing I do is farm tortoises for shooting experience theyre slow and pretty low risk while taking plenty of shots. Super recommend doing that if you have them on your map.
Hey Adam, I was wonderin if you played a Planetkiller Scenario before? As an idea for a new Rimworld series. The race against time could be very interesting, if you challenge yourself properly. :)
Is there a mod that fixed diagonal wall gap exploit? Suggestion: Pawns would be able to see and shoot each other diagonally through diagonal wall gap, but they are still too tight to go through (impassible). Visible range angle will be small as to avoid people using diagonal walls for killboxes.
The super quick losses will be compiled in a highlight video. This is the first episode of the long attempts. The others weren't really worth putting out as full episodes.

I agree. Like I mentioned in the description/etc, the super short losses will be edited together and released at some point. This just starts the longer surviving attempts :P
i tried the ""put a non-sowing grow zone over ambrosia so pawns will harvest it" a couple of days ago and it didn't work. i am on xbox so maybe they patched that for the port.
@@AdamVsEverything i checked the logs and it turns out a pawn binged it all while it was still waiting to be hauled into storage, lol. can't be too mad, the guy had just lost a lung in a raid. i LOVE this game. there are some features missing from the port and the max tile size you can have is 225 which sucks because 250 or 275 would be Goldilocks for me. unluckily for the pawn i don't seem to see any artificial respiratory organs in the tech tree, maybe i'll keep a lookout for a downed raider with a fresh natural one.
When I turn off mechs is usually after a playthrough where you only ever get mechs for the second half. The story tellers kind of get lazy. Like 3 mech drops or raids to one person one
It can get tiring, for sure. I don't fault anyone for playing however they want. I've just never really considered turning them off myself (and probably won't).
Do you have modlist? I mean a full modlist with links to workshop elements? 'Cause I really wanna try the random plus ( which is not listed in the mod list) and it requires harmony, but with harmony the game does not display the starting menu. turns out, that it is important to load the workshop elements in a certain order, not just in the game but in the workshop itself.
Good catch. I copy/pasted the mod list from a different playthrough and forgot to add that one. You can see the mod list on the initial loading screen (the timestamp where the ru begins then just hit left arrow once). I will update the list later as well, but there isn't much at all.
I struggled with the Avoid F.F mod so much i just turned it off, lol. Its very inconvenient when you're fighting with more than one pawn in the field. Though it would shine more in raids and stuff I guess
I changed my mind. I think the cheese run *is* for me. I just don't like slow Randy-starts. OK, I'm on board and happy about all the catching up I can do!

Best burger I have tried so far was in Slovakia's city Stary Smokovec next to Tatra mountain, burger with gorgonzola cheese and sweat pear. That was amazing.

Big thing I do is farm tortoises for shooting experience theyre slow and pretty low risk while taking plenty of shots. Super recommend doing that if you have them on your map.
Would you do mods that make things harder? Like the medieval overhaul, ate without a table=death, and Mechanoids expanded
I sometimes do these. I did a run against Igor late last year. Currently, on stream, I am battling Winston Waves, who makes Igor look like a joke :P
Hey Adam, I was wonderin if you played a Planetkiller Scenario before? As an idea for a new Rimworld series. The race against time could be very interesting, if you challenge yourself properly. :)

Is there a mod that fixed diagonal wall gap exploit?
Suggestion: Pawns would be able to see and shoot each other diagonally through diagonal wall gap, but they are still too tight to go through (impassible).
Visible range angle will be small as to avoid people using diagonal walls for killboxes.
Adam have you considered giving Dwarf Fortress a go now that it's coming to steam in a more accessable fashion?

i tried the ""put a non-sowing grow zone over ambrosia so pawns will harvest it" a couple of days ago and it didn't work. i am on xbox so maybe they patched that for the port.

@@AdamVsEverything i checked the logs and it turns out a pawn binged it all while it was still waiting to be hauled into storage, lol. can't be too mad, the guy had just lost a lung in a raid. i LOVE this game. there are some features missing from the port and the max tile size you can have is 225 which sucks because 250 or 275 would be Goldilocks for me. unluckily for the pawn i don't seem to see any artificial respiratory organs in the tech tree, maybe i'll keep a lookout for a downed raider with a fresh natural one.
When I turn off mechs is usually after a playthrough where you only ever get mechs for the second half. The story tellers kind of get lazy. Like 3 mech drops or raids to one person one
It can get tiring, for sure. I don't fault anyone for playing however they want. I've just never really considered turning them off myself (and probably won't).
Do you have modlist? I mean a full modlist with links to workshop elements? 'Cause I really wanna try the random plus ( which is not listed in the mod list) and it requires harmony, but with harmony the game does not display the starting menu.
turns out, that it is important to load the workshop elements in a certain order, not just in the game but in the workshop itself.
Good catch. I copy/pasted the mod list from a different playthrough and forgot to add that one. You can see the mod list on the initial loading screen (the timestamp where the ru begins then just hit left arrow once). I will update the list later as well, but there isn't much at all.
I struggled with the Avoid F.F mod so much i just turned it off, lol. Its very inconvenient when you're fighting with more than one pawn in the field. Though it would shine more in raids and stuff I guess

Adam how do u get a pawn in brutal start with natural meditation type? I legit rerolled 200+ times and never found one.. Only tribal seems to have them constantly...
