The fully edited runs are so awesome. Thank you to whoever does this charity work. I still watch the other videos too but haveing it all together and be edited is so good.
I'm almost always a vod type of guy. The edited runs are fantastic but I usually prefer to see the raw uncut version. This is one instance where I'd go against that. I watched a good chunk of this live and it looked torturous. Kudos for putting yourself through it Adam, can't wait to watch you do it again in 4 years haha.
I love these edited runs! It is very hard for me to keep interest during streams or the VODs, but these concise edited videos that mainly show the highlights are very easy for me to sit through. Thank you for playing the game and thank you to the editor for stitching everything together!
1:56:50 I made this mistake often in my playthroughs. My favorite game was to play in the ice tundra with a mandatory cold wave every 10 days. I didn't even know how good I had it. The map was actually the second largest map. 30% to the bottom was a small clearing in which I spawned with a bottleneck. The other 70% of the map above was a twisting path towards me. I couldn't have picked a better map if I drew it by hand. I played for like 500 hours in real life on that one map because I had disabled mechs due to me not being able to ever face them. I guess when I first encountered them, charge lances were OP and then 17 lancers would spawn because I had no idea about wealth-management and instead after a while I'd just do an upgrade and all of a sudden these tons of enemies would come and I'd just curse at randy--- but meanwhile I'd just accidently multiplied my wealth by like 15x just by adding sterille tiles and ... uhh, golden walls, and jade statues, and of course 10 megascreen TVs for the common room, because what else are our 5 thrumbo trainers going to do in their off-time?! They can't just be drinking beer, smoking smokeleaf, doing ya-yo and drinking psychite tea all while trying to recover from only doing 2 luciferium perday?! Anyways, they didn't play well with others. Anyways tl;dr: I accidently edited the scenario into making everyone superhuman but also a psychopath or sociopath or whatever so any time I encountered a corpse I wouldn't have to deal with the debuff. Sure, but they all hated each other. I had them all work directly next to each other so they could gain affection. Nope. Every day they hated each other more and more. It came to the point where they couldn't even eat meals in the same room as each other. I had to make essentially seperate compounds for each of the 13 colonists and neither was allowed into the others zone or else they would instantly call the other guy fat and they'd start a fight. 13 different kitchens, 13 different dining rooms, 13 different fridges. Then I decided, screw that. Put them all in a room and whoever survives is the new sole king. One guy went down almost instantly and then the other guys had a valiant fight, but the last guy was the victor. As he had no medical skill though, he bled out while self-tending. It was a fun run though. tl;dr;dr Put 3 psychos in a room and they'll kill each other eventually.
I know you probably don't make a lot of money from these edited videos, but I just want to express my gratitude for uploading them. I often have them on my phone when I drive to work! I learn English and watch a game I love. Hi from Russia! :D
i wouldnt quit my job to make what u make and do this just because the sheer number of people u have to deal with every day and do so with as much grace as you can muster lol props
Yess was watching the dirtmole vid last night and heard that this was coming out!! I love the edited down run and makes rimworld content a lot easier to water ❤
Really loving the edited runs, life is busy atm and these allow me to actually watch the runs, wish i had time to watch the full unedited runs but alas
~3:10:15 I'd like to request to not use a high pitched sound like this, please. I recognize it was quite fitting, but unfortunately this triggers my tinnitus (and I imagine I might not be the only one) On a more positive note: I absolutely love how you explain so many things, and include them in the video as well. As someone who hasn't played Rimmworld past the Royalty Expansion, it's really nice to get insight on stuff like "Unstoppable" and such. Thank you :)
Very spicy run, very well edited- these runs normally have a LOT of pretty lackluster downtime if played or watch live. That being said, I've done this challenge too, and there is one optimisation that doesn't break you might be able to make. When buying bulk materials (namely wood, steel and plasteel*) from settlements in time-sensitive situations, buy it in other forms, namely sleeping boxes, clubs, knives and statues. These are WAY more weight efficient (albeit definitely less cost efficient, unless you luck out and buy awful-quality items) allowing your colonists to carry more steel; you can then 'unpack' those items into more steel via deconstructing or smelting them when you get home.
I know this might not be feasible, but it would be cool if the editors stitched in a couple of the clips of your old runs when you bring up stories from those runs (maybe with a little banner at the bottom saying the video name). The chair killing your pawn at 4:42:30 and your old frail mascot pawn who moved so slowly she couldn’t make it to a table to eat (I think in the sanguophage run you brought her up) are the two stories I would have loved to have gotten a visual of. I’m sure this would be quite difficult with the literal years of playtime you have, but it could be a cool advert for some of your other videos.
Kudos Adam, you made a sea ice run fun to watch. I can see why you had been putting it off, though. Even the story generator AI didn't know what to send you out there.
Finally getting around to starting this! I’m super excited to watch it, I’ve been hoping you’d do one of these runs, but wouldn’t have blamed you if you didn’t given how torturous they are, so I’m looking forward to seeing how well the run goes.
I am on episode two right now of the VOD for this run but still wanted to comment here for the support Thank you for the awesome content for us Adam :)
It brings me peace to know even the best pĺayers have stressful playthroughs like mine. The ice biomes make me lose hair but I still prefer them. Never stop making rimworld videos my good sir. Such a good watch
Don't know if that was explained yet, but the reason why some colonists seemed to jump through - or out of - doors to melee attack enemies when not commanded to seems to be 'cause of the "fight"/"attack" designation assigned to them. I don't know why, but when you assign a colonist to attack on sight, they will walk a cell or two in order to melee attack aggressive pawns nearby when you don't tell them to shoot someone specific or if they aren't actively moving somewhere. Setting them to "ignore" or "flee" seems to make them drop that behavior tho.
Second full run i watch from you, really cool editing it really helps me learn without waisting time. You should add a mod or something with real time played
I have been watching your rimworld content for years now, and I kind of started a nightly routine where I lay in bed with my laptop and watch while my cat lays beside me. She would sometimes look up at the glowing screen for a while before tucking her nose into my arm and dozing off. Yesterday I had to say goodbye to her because she developed kidney issues and her health was deteriorating quickly. She was 20 years old and has been with me for 18 of those years. Last night I thought about watching some of this edit to distract me, but I couldn't do it.
The only issue I have had with the edited runs is since Anomoly I have been keeping up with the full VODs of the streams so I haven't had the need to rewatch the runs again via the edited versions since they are often still fresh to me.
1:41:46 That was cool... a fuller version would be such a cool/useful short video for RimWorld social media communities... "Not a Mod" is so you regarding this game. = )
12:30 I always forget about this, I've been using a mod to give it back its range and accuracy from 1.0 (37 tiles, 80% acc) for so long I thought that's how the weapon works vanilla. Oh well, the nerf was stupid and I stand by it. (Buffed) Charge Lance supremacy! 3:10:05 man that's a lot of fire
3:03:59 I experienced this and the worst part is, they weren't even beautiful. To make matters worse, they were a misogynist, and eventually it worked, which made the mood of the colony even worse somehow. My only comfort in that colony is that I somehow didn't die to all the mental breaks, but rather starvation during the last day of winter.
Great video Adam, really like those fully edited runs If I can make a question, do you think CAI 5000 would make a big difference to you record a run around it?

Bro, I keep falling asleep after watching like 10 minutes max each evening. Made it to the 3 hour mark, but in probably 2 weeks and tv keeps playing it to the end each time.

I do highly recommend the uncut version for all the extra "story time with Adam" and occasionally "infohazards with Adam"
Approx 43h of sea ice distilled into 5h of pure content, 10/10 can't believe I actually enjoyed a sea ice run
see ice is the purest way to play Rimworld ;)
@@hardkur Absolutely agree! Sea Ice starts are so challenging and exciting, I love the idea of nature being the biggest threat.

Well, they are paid so not exactly charity :P But glad you enjoy them.
they get paid and probably paid well as adam dont seem too greedy at all
huge props to adam and team, especially the editor/s! uploads are consistent in quality and timely. always looking forward to these series

i think adam pays the dude well for the efforts. so idk if i want the dude to have a break just yet XD
