WOW you guys are keeping me on my toes, I didn't think we'd get there this quick! Here is the project. I've provided a STEMS project for those that don't have the VSTS, as well as a full project with the VST's. Have fun and let me know what you think! tinyurl.com/stranjah-minimal-dnb-pt1
Yo Bro, big up from the UK for you're work!! Please could you email me I would to talk to you about a few subjects regarding synthesis and production. mr.djcharlie@gmail.com
Damn, dude, this is the best arrangement tutorial I've seen in years. Excellent work on keeping on topic and not straying into composition or sound design.
Something I did while learning was to load or record a track into my daw , mute it , then build your track using the recorded track as a frame work for my track. It helped me loads
I’ve only just started to learn how to produce since being on lockdown. Your videos have easily been the best source to help me get going. I couldn’t thank you enough 👍🏻
I've been mucking around with production for years and have always struggled with my arrangements (Big fan of sound design) and this video has explained it nice and clearly without over complicating it. This is how i've tried to view production i just haven't been able to put 2 and 2 together. Big ups
this guy knows the formula to make a heater in every genre its very impressive, bet alot of young new DnB djs that have been recognized in the uk recently owe alot to your videos
its rare i comment on youtube videos but I've recently started learning about dnb production and your videos are some of the best ive watched, super in depth and you explain your reasoning behind what you do too
I just got back into producing dnb after a 10 year break . I've always understood the layout of a song but this is the BEST way I've ever seen it explained . I'm hooked I am eager to learn more !
Gotta Thank you for sharing all your knowledge dude!!! been a DnB head since day but never thought I had the ability to produce.... I have learned a hell of a lot from watching how you do things and its given me the confidence to invest in a DAW and have a go.... Thank you!! I was able to create my first full length composition last week after arriving home form my mother's funeral. I just felt it.... I spent a solid 20 hours on it (all OG sounds, apart from the vocal and the drum hits). and am thoroughly proud of it. I was just wandering, as somebody that was a huge influence and inspiration for me, you would mind giving it a listen through and some feedback? Way more than happy to talk about how it was put together too.... Thanks again!
Mate these tutorials are literally gold ive been learning to produce for about 5 months and always though oh i know its something like 32-64-32-64-16 and not paid any more attention to it but ive realised ive been overlooking sooooo much it’s ridiculous
yo man thankyou for the vid, i feel like this is a very important topic to cover as turning your loops into full songs can be quite daunting. very exited for the next part :)
I mainly produced techno in the past, and always admired dnb producers for being so precise and devoted, but such a complex arrangement seemed too hard to result in fun. Your videos are changing my mind, that's exactly the kind of content map i needed to score the structure of a track without worring about getting lost in details. Done that, I can finally proceed to the steps I love more, like bass design and mixing. Thank you very much, you're such a good educator and you deserve tons of exposure.
Hey Stranjah, this video series is fantastic. I've had to clobber this knowledge together for years from dozens of different sources, but you put it all together in one single tutorial. I don't think people fully understand how many goodies there are in there. Thank you for making this kind of knowledge available to the public.
Dude you are a legend. Been watching your channel for ages. Spiritual awakening brought me here to make some dutty bass on some dutty big speakers 😊. Cheers man everything you put up expands my work flow in the sickest ways. Keep it up
Oh, my gosh! I was looking for this! Im just starting music production, and I mentioned in another comment that this helps me learn the TR8s. BIG ups, Stranjah!
Most of this video is such common knowledge to me but I really enjoy going back and watching this series more specifically. I would love to know more about your theory on "Call and response". I think my music is missing so much of it and you really hone in on how powerful and necessary it is to music and making that " tension and release". thanks again man!
Ignore this :) Call and response: Main bass and gnarly and noise bass Reese at the end of 4 bars + remove perc shaker introduce rides for emphasis, at the end, add riser with no ride Add variation: gnarly 1 and 2 goal: making a 16 bar block to arrange a whole song
Thank you for this , I have a back ground in music and know this isnt easy if you dont but you make it easily digestible and explain it well. thanks mate biggups
Hi man just a message from a french dnb producer...i would like to thank you. I discovered a lot of tricks and motivation with your channel . I saw many of tutorials and i would say that your my favorite one of all. Man thanks a lot once again. Ps: i have bought your jungle pack my gosh it s fucking amazing.
This is super helpful on arrangement! I'm currently integrating ableton with my machines, and this is the tutorial I needed. Thank you! - Sari (amen alice)
Another steller vid! I'm basically combining elements from all your videos together now. Used the drums from your jungle production kit for this one. Taking lots of time to experiment, make changes and apply techniques I've learned elsewhere to make things sound more my own. The amount of progress I've made since starting out a month ago is not at all what I imagined. Bless you, kind sir!

Thanks again Stranjah!

Would make my day if you could do a tutorial on creating something similar to Dominator's sort of 'womp' noise.
You really have a talent for explaining this kind of stuff. So clear und logical! No unnecessary fluff... Thanks!
most welcome!
Maan, you are giving best free dnb tutorials. Love and respect!
The fact this is free is insane man, thanks so much.
