Did you not find the stuff about women and girls being raped, little Trojan boys snatched from their mothers arms to be killed by the Greeks, rats and urine in the Greek camp etc. disturbing?

I saw Women of Troy at the library where I work. It looked interesting and I'm glad to hear your review.

If an event occurred in 100 BCE how much later can a source be written by an anonymous author and still be considered a primary source (if it is the earliest extant source for the event in 100 BCE)? Or can an anonymous, non-contemporaneous source ever be considered a primary source? Who can I read to understand more specifically about ancient source quality, source nature / source evaluation?

hi! I've been researching a figure of ancient history/mythology recently who's first told by an anonymous summary of a source written 400 years after the fact, and is still generally considered a primary source because the historian who was anonymously summarised may have used records from the civilisation that the person was from. all that is to say, I don't think there's necessarily a hard cut-off for primary sources - it likely depends what specifically you're researching towards, and what the specific source is. in a high-school setting, I've been encouraged to refer to ancient rather than primary sources for the ones you're referring to - it seems to be a safe option in the unsure instances. even though I'm a year late, I hope this helps!

How many chapter does The women of Troy had? I just read it on my kobo but I feel like I’m missing some chapter, like the end of the book was strange. Also, according to internet, the French book (because I read in French) was 384 pages but I only had like 284… So how many chapter did you have? I tried looking on internet but I couldn’t find the info… thanks you so much! Because I’m not sure if I really like it if it was the “real” ending of the book that I had 😅
