Its really sad if you think of it, Nerevar the hero who only wanted peace and good was betrayed by those he saved. And Dagoth the most loyal and great friend of Nerevar was corrupted by the power, and lost his loyalty. And Nerevar was forced to hurt him and only Nerevar's soul himself could kill him. (The Nerevarine)
I see things this way: 1. Dagoth Ur used tools on heart after the battle, otherwise he would be dead, but he was resurrected. He did it by some kind of accident, if he done it right, Tribunal/Nerevar would not be able to defeat him beneath Red Mountain. After using tools he lost his mind, or at least part of it. 2. I think Nerevar died from wounds inflicted by , either dwemer (battle sure was fierce enough, remember Trueflame shattered in dwemer shield) or/and Dagoth Ur. I dont think Tribunal killed Nerevar. I think members of the Tribunal were good (back then) and they wanted to do good things with divine powers, for their country and their people. There is propaganda to it for sure, but remember that all accounts speak of Tribunal doing great and heroic things for the people with their divine power (Salas Valor basically confirms this, Almalexia stop being good is the very reason he rebels),also remember that Tribunal Gods didnt went on berserk mode and start conquering the rest of the Tamriel. So it was not about the power for the sake of power (at the begging at least). I think many people miss the point of the story of Morrowind. The way i see it, its not about revenge, its about "the path to evil being paved with good intentions" and about mortality and godhood. As Vivec said himself, its a sad thing being mortal, beaten by life,fate,gods... but at the end being God is also difficult (responsibility),lonely and so on. Tribunal wanted to do good things and they did, they wanted to free mortal races from Daedric influences and they did (to some extent). But, even without Dagoth Ur, they were losing what was left of their humanity (Dagoth Urs awakening only speeded up the process) and it is the key problem, they become more and more like Daedra (that they despise) and less "human". They forget about the people and only cared about themselves, Almalexia especially. Thanks for reading and sorry for bad English :D
@@MeepChangeling You use word "objectively" wrong. Vivec denies killing Nerevar when you ask him about it in his temple-palace, but claims hi did betray him by using tools. There are many books and notes in Morrowind, not only Vivec poems, that state false facts. Vivec killing him is more in line of him betraying Nerevars wishes... his dying friend. Not actually stabbing him with knife or something. Azura also never accused Tribunal of killing Nerevar, but rather of them betraying him and her and using tools on the heart. That was their crime. Dagoth Ur himself claims he and Nerevar fought beneath Red Mountain. And there is only one game that matters on the subject and thats Morrowind and its expansions.

Almalexia only needed to convince Vivec who was reluctant at the beggining, anyway, it WAS Sotha Sils idea, shame you never get to meet him during the tribunal expansion since Almalexia had alredy secretly killed him.
No, not really. There are no books that really mention it being Sotha Sil's idea, just his genius. Not to mention there's not many books about him to begin with. The idea that Sotha Sil also went mad isn't true, that's what Almalexia tells people (at a point when she's already mad), hell I don't think Sotha Sil cares enough to go mad.
Oh Azura, this is so inaccurate. I barely know where to begin. 01:38 His name was Nerevar.. not Indoril, not *the* Nerevar. He IS remembered today, his face is on the ordinator armors in Morrowind. He is loved by the Tribunal, even though they murdered him. 2:45 Arguable on that friendship part. Almalexia is Nerevar's Wife. 3:00 Their names before godhood were Ayem, Seht, and Vehk respectively. 3:25 Kagrenac wasn't evil. Also, the Numidium wasn't intended to be THEIR god, it was meant to be a way to broadcast the Heart of Lorkhan's power into the entire race of Dwemer, so they could ascend to godhood as a whole. They wouldn't worship it, they already had gods. 04:12 Where did you get that from? Dagoth told Nerevar that, as Dagoth was suspicious of the dwemer. Nerevar went to Dumac to clear it up but Dumac told him not to meddle in the affairs of the Dwemer. Then he became suspicious. 5:40 Automatons AND dwemer themselves fought. 6:11 He rallied all Chimer together through their Velothi religion and became the Hortator, basically a Warlord. 7:35. They fused to the Skin of Numidium. That's what happened. They became part of the Numidium. 8:00 **THIS PART IS THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL AND ACTUALLY HAS LITTLE ESTABLISHED CANON, AS WELL A ME BEING RUSTY WITH THIS EVENT.** but god man, even I can do better. After what happened to Dagoth, (He was made to guard the tools, and so was corrupted by his proximity to the heart of lorkhan, driving him insane and making him into the Sharmat) he was cautious about destroying them and wanted to get counsel from Azura. Unfortunately, The tribunal were seduced by the power and poisoned his robes, insence and verses of prayer. They killed him and then stole the power of the heart using the tools of Kagrenac.
Seconded. Shoddycast usually sticks to the facts but this one is heavily interpreted and biased (couldn't be more anti-dwemer), on top of the many lore mistakes and omissions. Maybe they were trying to tell the story from the chimer point of view, but that's not a good thing seeing the purpose of these series is to initiate people into TES lore, better stick to hard facts. Indoril is the great house name, like a last name, Nerevar is his first name, his title was the Hortator. There is no desert in Resdayn (Yes it wasn't called morrowind at that time) but ashlands, Nerevar was the chieftain of the ashlanders not desert barbarians. "7:35. They fused to the Skin of Numidium. That's what happened. They became part of the Numidium." By that I guess you mean that they used Numidium (The brass god/Golem) as a catalyst, a means to an end, to reach Anumidum (The dwemers own sacred and divine plane, like their own Aetherius). The Dwemer vanished, period, there is no proof that they all literally died, or transcended the mortal plane into godhood, or that maybe, by messing with lorkhan's hearth, the Earth Bones (akatosh) flinged them in time, like what happened to alduin and thus the dwemer could come back at some point. It's just I doubt that all the dwemer souls are in the Brass Golem. But this is Tamriel's biggest mystery, so who knows, I like that Bethesda left this unanswered, leaves room for a lot personal interpretations of the event (much like Dark souls lore) and nice debates on the subject, keeps it fun and interesting. Dagoth Ur was killed by Nerevar, Ayem, Seht, and Vehk, but he resuscitated later on, unbeknownst to them. The whole House Dagoth was purged due to this incident. The last remaining dwemer, correct name is Yagrum Bagarn, found in Tel Fyr under the care of the Telvanni wizard lord Dyvath Fyr.
Frencho9 The great thing about Bethesda lore is there is no clear sides, and everyone interpenetrates their own story's from what is available the physical world. To anyone who wants the real story play morrowind Game of the year, and heavily modded. Use this video*** as more or less a reference because unless you played through it two or three times the plot can be a bit confusing. Read your books, pay attention to your thousands of pages of dialog and well just imagine the rest of the world. Facts are Facts, History is construed facts.
JasonDoe1000 Yes,Both Pariah's info and mine are better, and everything said is accurate. Don't criticise without an argument and something to defend said argument.
It's been over 8 years since this video was last uploaded. It's now the second year of the epidemic, and I'm rewatching one of my favorite TH-camrs. I hope you're having a wonderful time wherever you are.
This is the story the tribunal told the public but if you ever played morrowind then you would know that after Dagoth fled, The Nevera was going to call Azura and ask what to do with the tools, the other three knew that she would tell him to destroy them so they poisoned him and took the tools for themselves. Azura came and cursed them and said he would be reborn and avenge his murder. All the ashlanders knew this so the tribunal persecuted them hard, and dagoth ur tells you this when you meet him
Both are true. The dragon break caused by activating Numidium means multiple timelines take place, meaning both events and possibly more took place. Ayem, Seht and Vehk stood by their friend Nerevar as he succumbed to his wounds. Almalexia, Sotha Sil and Vivec murdered their Hortator Nerevar. Ayem Seht Vehk = Almalexia Sotha Sil Vivec = ALMSIVI. Everything is true, nothing is correct.
Please don't shorten the opening like you did with this video, it gets me so pumped up and ready for what's to come. And we only get new videos every other week, so I don't feel as though it's getting old or anything.
There is a side quest in the collage of Winterhold that is called Arniel's Endeavor. For those who have not heard or finished this quest. The quest starts off as most do gathering what is to be thought useless gears for this mage to study. In fact it's more of a test for him to trust you with an even greater task. He wants to find out why the Dwemer disappeared by recreating what they did. The gears were used to make a dwarven convector which he broke in his last attempt. This causes the player to find ones that are all over Skyrim. After completing this he asks you to find him the artifact call Keening(as seen in this video), a dagger used to harness power from the heart of lorkan. With this dagger and the wrapped gem he 'successfully' recreates what he believed happened to the Dwemer and disappears forever. The Keening along with Sunder and Wraithguard are the 3 devices used to harness the heart. Arniel even talked about the gem not being equivalent to a dead god's heart but the purified soul gem should work just as well. I'm only trying to explain more on what this series has explained thus far of the Dwemer. I'm not trying to say that Arniel did what the Dwemer did as he lacked the the heart, Sunder and Wraithgaurd but I'm just explaining an adding more information.
Awesome video! It's really great to see this illustrated with such great visuals. The Dwemer are by far my favorite race in all of fiction and the Battle of Red Mountain is my favorite event in Elder Scrolls history!
It's still great storytelling, and I wouldn't be surprised if the dwemer's disappearance came up in another video, but I thought I might as well inform others
Josh Cottle I agree with that. When you are making an entire series, with each episode covering a specific subject, you have to avoid the temptation of rambling off topic. I give him props for staying on target.
+General Decianus Ya but towards end-game u can become a literal god. U can enchant sumthing to just make urself be able to fly all over the map. It gets crazy once u learn all of the mechanics and shit and learn how to break the game once ur rich and powerful. Its amazing.
Vahvòòk, vehvàk, vavàk, vavèk, vyuvjoyk, vehvèhk, vjuçìniç. Meh. I love the ability of this voice actor to achieve thousands of wrong pronunciations on a single word. This is pure dedication! Btw, love your work :)
There are some major flaws in this 1 - There was a single Dwemer left, Yagrum Bagarn, he was in a different dimension (Oblivion) at the time and was spared 2 - Dagoth Ur convinced Almalexia who then persuaded Sotha Sil to create a way to use the Heart 3 - Sotha Sil, Almalexia and Vivec poisoned Nerevar, with poisoned Robes, Candles and poems, respectively. 4 - Dagoth went mad with power and tried to undo what the others had done and that's why he kept the Heart and tools
I think you mean appreciate, and I do, but if they are going to make a lore video, it should at least be accurate, it's like if I made a game about CoD and said Captain price was Canadian
Dagoth didn't convince anybody, nor did Almalexia or any of the Tribunal. Dagoth may have went mad, but he kept his oath to Nerevar much better than the others did.
1. The existence of a last remaining dwemer is not widely known, and I know they tend to write each video from a particular viewpoint, usually one that greatly involves the subject matter (so from the Tribunal themselves perhaps?) 2. I'm a bit rusty, but didn't Dagoth Ur go nuts trying to stay loyal to Nerevar (hence he didn't want to give up the tools?) He ended up with godhood inadvertently? 3. The poisoning is up for some debate...it's said both ways many times in the games, and since we never hear an official firsthand account (the Tribunal would never admit they did it) we can't say for sure. I personally think they did, too, but no solid evidence in-game. I do wish they would've at least mentioned this possibility, but oh well. 4. Again, I think the power of the Heart drove him mad, but it made him mad with purpose: to continue protecting these tools as instructed by Lord Nerevar.
That was beautiful! The ascendance of the Tribunal and the Battle of Red Mountain is shrouded in mystery. There are many different interpretations of this event, but I like this story. Plus the art amazing; presenting unique attire foreign to any of the games. Great Job!
I have a theory on the disappearance of the Dwarves. What if they just got lost in time, either in the past or future, Think about it, an entire race just vanishing without a trace or even one body being found. Isn't it possible that when the heart was stabbed somehow they ruptured the fabric of space and time with it only affecting their race sense they dwelled in that sort of thing. Also, remember they were the most technologically advanced race in all of Tamrial. Perhaps they could be brought back like Alduin but it would have too be the same place where they vanished which is Red Mountain.
+Kirā Senju u can meet another Dwemer still alive in morrowind but he has no idea what happened to his people he doesn't even know thay his people disapeared LOL
LittleBoss (JyAP) wait wait WAIT nervarin mark have have a half moon which looks like a bannana and a star but the islam sign also is neravarines sign.............WTF HOLY SHIT!!!!
Quick question: I thought the gigantic pulsating structure at the end of Morrowind was the heart of Lorkhan- grantedI never played through the game myself, I watched my dad play it because I was way too young and stupid to get how to play the game properly, so am I mistaken? I just thought it was a lot bigger than how it was portrayed in this video.
No, you're right. That was the heart at the end of the game. I know the ShoddyCast hasen't really played Morrowind that much so I believe that's why they don't use images or anything from it.
SirAdsew they didnt use that heart because they didnt have the model of it in skyrim and since neither of can/have the time to code it in they used a substitute
***** Yeah but isn't there like.. console commands that can make the heart they used massive? Always had a fun time doing that with horses in Oblivion- tiny ass hero on a tiny ass horse.
No mention of Trueflame shattering? Nerevar wasn't even wielding Trueflame in the pictures. There is a mod for Trueflame as well as Hopesfire: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47249/?
Yismir had a considerable role in this history between Dwemer and Chimer, according with the Wiki statements, he was not mentioned here neither in the Talos saga, somehow I think that Yismir was avoided here to prevent lore conflicts, but the games quotes him and there are other versions of the tales that is said here.
It seems odd that the Dwemer are always shown in armor, even when working inside a work shop. Is it because "dwarven" armor is the only type of apparel associated with them that exists in Skyrim?
Yup. There are not existing models of Dwemer that do them justice. A proper Dwemer should be an elf with grey skin and a beard that reaches to his belt.
Uhhh, what? No. The Tribunal, those three, they killed Nerevar. Assassinated him. Nerevar did not die through his wounds in battle of the Red Mountain, it was due to the three.
REACH464 The Falmer and the dwemer fight against each other in the "War of the Crag", this war took place in Skyrim, the Falmer were slaves of the "Skyrim-Dwemer", the Dwemer of Morrowind fight against the Chimer in the "War of the first Council", so both wars happened at the same time, but at other places
Sanguine I disagree. Based on what I am reading their main point seems to be recovering relics and not destroying evil. Besides as of Skyrim that order does not exist anymore. Edit: Scratch that last part. I'm not sure if they exist or not atm. Still disagree though.
Sanguine No their dead if I believe since the commander of the nine been dead since 200 years ago, unless he promoted one of his knights to be the next commander
Hail and Praises for the amount of work you guys put into this series. After you having gone for to long, i can breath again, Thank you, thank you, thank you so Much!!!, Really, really.
Nerevar was his name. Indoril is the title of the House he founded/belonged to/married into via Almalexia. His full name would have been Serjo Indoril Nerevar Mora. Serjo (title of respect) Indoril (House) Nerevar (name) Mora (House)
It is no longer known what was the cause of Nerevar's death, the most popular tale is the one mentioned in the video. However another texts suggest that he died from wounds Dagoth inflicted, and ashlander texts say that his advisers killed him in order to gain power. Great video looking forwards to the next :)
It blows my mind how much lore is in the Elder Scrolls...and people think that gamers are stupid, when in turn they are some of the greatest thinkers and dreamers to every live...
I believe the intent by the end of the series is to cover the history of Nirn itself including all the other continents, though the entire ES series will have to finish up haha.
A word of warning for those interested in the Elder Scrolls lore. This video is full of holes. See the thread in the Bethesda TES Lore forums here to see how: forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1482352-shoddycasts-battle-of-red-mountain-video-is-obscene/ The people on Reddit caught wind of this episode, too. www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/1o1ni0/how_accurate_is_the_shoddycast_lore_series/ - That link just lists EVERY mistake. And the fact that one forum member posted comments saying that this was largely inaccurate and these comments were removed does little to help with Shoddycast's flimsy-at-best reputation amongst the TES community. These videos are fine to help get you interested, but I wouldn't accept them as fact.
+Jamihaus Not spider legged anymore. He is very much two legged nowadays. And his voice is surprisingly nasally, yet deep. There's a mod where you meet him.
It's fun when you say the dwemer's name because it resembles "Tabernacle" which in québécois french is a curse word. So not used to ear youswear, I almost fell out of my chair ahah.
It's an item of cult in the catholic church where the priests put the Chalice containing the blood of christ (Wine) and some flat bread (representing his body). We often pronounce it ta-Bar-nak and it's a common curse word here (pretty close to the F word) because of our catholic roots. I use it often and I'm atheist, just sayin. Cultural stuff.
For the last time the lore is given from the perspective of the subject. A video about the tribunal is going to show their view on things and there official version of the accounts. That is for all of you that are saying this episode got everything wrong just remember this is the tribunals version of history not an objectiv story telling. So stop saying the episode has it all wrong since this is the tribunals official version of the events.
Don't know if this is true or not but apparently it was the Almsivi that was responsible for the death of Nerevar by poisoning him whilst he was injured by his wounds. It is said that he would have lived otherwise and if he did it coulds have change everything.
Nice upload. If you're willing, one thing that I would like to see is a series on a timeline of historical battles, events, people, etc, in order to put all these events and dates that you mention into chronological perspective. These videos all do well, but its easy to get the dates all jumbled- some sort of visual, linear video would be much appreciated!
They couldn't be bothered getting a guar mod. The whole charm of the dunmer is in how different they are to more generic races like the Imperials and Nords, so giving them horses ruins it somewhat.
While I have watched and enjoyed a majority of your video,I have a feeling that your tendency of mingling the de jure story with the de facto lore is going to make a majority of lore-amateurs rather confused when ESO comes out. I can only dread the amounts of people who in honesty say "Foul Murder? Nerevar died of his wounds, that's canon! Why would they even mangle his feet and cut his face? That doesn't make any sense!" But I really do appreciate your effort in outlining the bulk of it all, and hopefully inspire some people to read in the Imperial Library.
What about Dragon Break that occurred during battle of Red Mountain? I mean, you are presenting in the video events of only one timelines, but due to the rip in spacetime there were a few of them at same time with different happenings. Dagoth Ur were slain and was not, Nerver were murdered and died in battle, Tribunal betrayed and were betrayed - all of this at the same time. What I find funny is that in one timeline version it was mentioned that Chimers and Dwemers fought together and not aggainst. You should at least mention this. :)
Ive always loved your lore videos but always wondered how they were made. Did you take screenshots in game? how did you change it to look like a storybook?
I love the series. :D *Spoilers if you haven't played morrowind* Wondering if the next episode is going to cover the book "Nerevar at Red Mountain" in the Council's secret library, where the Council was revealed to have been lord Nerevar's murderer. "Amalexia used poisoned candles, Sotha Sil used poisoned robes. and Vivec used poisoned incantations." I could be wrong, its been a while since I've played Morrowind... *sighs wistfully* I wonder where my old CD is, getting the urge to revist and old favorite!

But now that my labors are done, and the holiday season (I hope yours are merry and festive, Shoddy Bros) is upon us, I must wait for more and I'm not quite sure what to do with my life til you return. I've sepnt so many countless hours listening to you both, that you've become my best friends (j/k) & I will miss you. ;) Guess it's back to Morrowind for a couple of weeks. Love u guys. Have commented on almost every vid. Can't wait until they release some juicy confirmations on ESO. Until then, I bid you adieu. :*

The idea that Sotha Sil also went mad isn't true, that's what Almalexia tells people (at a point when she's already mad), hell I don't think Sotha Sil cares enough to go mad.
Pastaspace Sotha Sil discovered the means to use the Tools and the three took godhood of their own will, they weren't persuaded by the others.

ITS REAL TO ME DAMMIT
A lot of the history in the elder scrolls are based on history and myths in the real world.
@@n_crowe Are there magic, dragons and literal fucking gods blowing shit up?
Azura's logic: Damn all these Nords!! I'LL KILL ALL THE IMPERIALS! THAT'LL TEACH THEM! Lmao, what a comedy is her uncontrollable power!
Oh, and Yagarum Bagarum, the last remaining dwemer, is still alive during the Third Era.
They became part of the Numidium."
By that I guess you mean that they used Numidium (The brass god/Golem) as a catalyst, a means to an end, to reach Anumidum (The dwemers own sacred and divine plane, like their own Aetherius).
Frencho9
The great thing about Bethesda lore is there is no clear sides, and everyone interpenetrates their own story's from what is available the physical world.
And you really think, that your informations are better?
They are still inaccurate in some points
Almalexia, Sotha Sil and Vivec murdered their Hortator
Nerevar.
Kagranak created memes to create the Numidium?
What?!
+Enclave Commander NO.3-117 they actually met Means, but if so then Kagranak is tamriel's First Meme Master
+Eve Grey Yep the first dank memer ever.
+Enclave Commander NO.3-117 Indeed, he had memes for eons. Memes for eons? Memes for eons.
Still does too.
Make this series weekly please it is the best lore series ever
Just wanted to say thankyou for giving your own time into these Lores we have all loved. Thankyou!
Your pronunciation gave me corprus.

Awesome video! It's really great to see this illustrated with such great visuals. The Dwemer are by far my favorite race in all of fiction and the Battle of Red Mountain is my favorite event in Elder Scrolls history!
-no dwemer was seen, or heard of again
Except Yagrum, in Morrowind
I think he was playing it up for dramatic effect, but it IS a bit misleading. Still, makes for great storytelling.
It's still great storytelling, and I wouldn't be surprised if the dwemer's disappearance came up in another video, but I thought I might as well inform others
Josh Cottle
That's a fair point. I'm kind of surprised he didn't at least mention Yagrum offhandedly but I'm sure he had his reasons.
He probably did, I would expect it's scheduled for another video seeing as this is about the Tribunal, but that's just a guess.
Josh Cottle
I agree with that. When you are making an entire series, with each episode covering a specific subject, you have to avoid the temptation of rambling off topic. I give him props for staying on target.
happy christmas everybody
The old intro please. It always gives me goosebumps
There were six houses, not five: Indoril, Redoran, Dres, Hlallu, Telvanni, and Dagoth. Hence the "Sixth House" faction in TES3: Morrowind.
+General Decianus Ya but towards end-game u can become a literal god. U can enchant sumthing to just make urself be able to fly all over the map. It gets crazy once u learn all of the mechanics and shit and learn how to break the game once ur rich and powerful. Its amazing.
just stunning how you tell the story
Vahvòòk, vehvàk, vavàk, vavèk, vyuvjoyk, vehvèhk, vjuçìniç. Meh. I love the ability of this voice actor to achieve thousands of wrong pronunciations on a single word. This is pure dedication!
Btw, love your work :)
Thank you for all your work Kyle and Josh
There are some major flaws in this
1 - There was a single Dwemer left, Yagrum Bagarn, he was in a different dimension (Oblivion) at the time and was spared
2 - Dagoth Ur convinced Almalexia who then persuaded Sotha Sil to create a way to use the Heart
3 - Sotha Sil, Almalexia and Vivec poisoned Nerevar, with poisoned Robes, Candles and poems, respectively.
Tom Willard I agree....the research for this didn't seem as comprehensive
1. The existence of a last remaining dwemer is not widely known, and I know they tend to write each video from a particular viewpoint, usually one that greatly involves the subject matter (so from the Tribunal themselves perhaps?)
Well, Vehk did admit to it... (the murder I mean). It is pretty stablished that the Tribunal murdered Nerevar.
Perhaps they could be brought back like Alduin but it would have too be the same place where they vanished which is Red Mountain.
they disappeared becuz they messed with the heart if lorkhan it says so in the lore books and all Dunmer have confirmed it
_I'm aware of that._
+Kirā Senju u can meet another Dwemer still alive in morrowind but he has no idea what happened to his people he doesn't even know thay his people disapeared LOL
_Yes._
+Kirā Senju SHUT UP
This is my favorite series on TH-cam, keep up the good work!
7:34 "No Dwemer was ever seen or heard from again" - Except Yagrum Bagarn
You guys have the best Elder Scrolls lore series ever!
Azura, god of bananas and throwing stars
The Heart wasn't very large in Morrowind either, the one they were striking towards the end was of similar size.
*****
Yeah but isn't there like.. console commands that can make the heart they used massive? Always had a fun time doing that with horses in Oblivion- tiny ass hero on a tiny ass horse.
they did. they didnt make it as big as its suppose to be, but if it was that big it wouldnt fit on a table
The creators of the elder scrolls games should have you on board for the shear awesomeness that is of the story telling you do with the actual lore!.
Loving the shortened intro that you guys have implemented lately!
+Lightscribe225 Morrowind had Dwemer chosts. Dwemer could have been based on them.elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dwarven_Spectre
This series is so good. I wish there was more
Uhhh, what? No. The Tribunal, those three, they killed Nerevar. Assassinated him. Nerevar did not die through his wounds in battle of the Red Mountain, it was due to the three.
Michael Kirkbride calls the races:
Dway-mere (Dwemer)
Dune-mere (Dunmer)
Alt-mere (Altmer)
Bo-mere (Bosmer)
Kye-mere (Chimer)
Orsi-mere (Orsimer)
Fall-mere (Falmer)
Maou-mere (Maormer)
Ay-yield (Ayield)
Thanks alot now I want to play Skyrim...
***** Its never a bad thing
Floyd OGK what if he had to study :D it would be nightmare
because of the topic wouldn't you want to play Morrowind....? ;)
The art has improved again!
I remember watching this video last year
Uhuhuhuhuh, amazingly funny, uhuhuhuhuh!
ShoddyCast thank for the Elder scrolls Lore I learned a lot and enjoy watching and hope the series continue for a long time
I thought the Dwemer were fighting the Falmer at the time of their disapearance? Sometimes the lore get's so tangled around with dates and years...
***** So the Dwemer were fighting the Chimer and the Falmer who were rebelling at the same time...these guys really don't know how to make friends...
***** Falmer and Dwemer were fighting underneath Skyrim for decades before the Dwemer disappeared. (War of the Crag)
***** Only in Skyrim, the Dwemer in Morrowind never had Falmer slaves
REACH464
The Falmer and the dwemer fight against each other in the "War of the Crag", this war took place in Skyrim, the Falmer were slaves of the "Skyrim-Dwemer", the Dwemer of Morrowind fight against the Chimer in the "War of the first Council", so both wars happened at the same time, but at other places
Thats the dwemer of skyrim they where Under different leader ship
Oh my goodness, I have been waiting for this for 2 weeks. Thankyou, SC and keep up the great work!
You forgot something... They were never heard from again... Except one Dwarf, in Morrowind.
What dwarf? They all disappeared, didn't they?
moongirl786 nope, there is one more.. altough he is really sick with corprus desease, Yagrum Bagarn
Oh thx, I'll look him up
moongirl786 Search for the sorcerer, Divayth Fyr.
Tin Miladinovic
If I remember correctly he wasn't on Tamriel when the dwarves dissapeared.
Excellent as always, Shoddy Cast!
You should do an episode on the Vigilants of Stendarr. I think their pretty interesting. They are like this worlds Paladins.
No... Knights of the Nine are the Paladins I think.
Sanguine
I disagree.
Kill them on sight, what more can be said?
Alex Hopkins
Kill them on sight....with maces? >.>
I 100% agree with this. When I read this my exact words were: "EXACATLY!" And yes, I said that out loud at my desk. :)
Mitchell McLean Well I'm glad to not disappoint!
Nick Sheldon
It that a reference to that CHIM nonsense?
Also, we gamers are stupid, in many ways.
I feel no solidarity with any of you.
Great work. These always make my day a little bit better.
You guys should do a segment of akavir
I believe the intent by the end of the series is to cover the history of Nirn itself including all the other continents, though the entire ES series will have to finish up haha.
Finnik Sean McDownsen Even atmora?
I believe so
Thank you for all your hard work!
A word of warning for those interested in the Elder Scrolls lore. This video is full of holes. See the thread in the Bethesda TES Lore forums here to see how: forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1482352-shoddycasts-battle-of-red-mountain-video-is-obscene/
The people on Reddit caught wind of this episode, too.
www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/1o1ni0/how_accurate_is_the_shoddycast_lore_series/ - That link just lists EVERY mistake.
And the fact that one forum member posted comments saying that this was largely inaccurate and these comments were removed does little to help with Shoddycast's flimsy-at-best reputation amongst the TES community.
These videos are fine to help get you interested, but I wouldn't accept them as fact.
Thanks ShoddyCast now i have to make a dark elf save again!
Sorry to say "you are wrong" but you are wrong, 1 dwemmer did survive since he was in a alternative plane when the other dwemmer disappeared.
Yeah isn't he that fat mechanical spider legged dude in the underground caves in tel fyr in morrowind?
+Jamihaus yep
+Jamihaus Not spider legged anymore. He is very much two legged nowadays. And his voice is surprisingly nasally, yet deep.
There's a mod where you meet him.
+The Darkness Thats not even him in the mod.
Ethan Stansmore It was a being disguised as him with a spell.
ahh i love seeing that a new lore video from you on my homepage shoddycast! makes my day :D
It's fun when you say the dwemer's name because it resembles "Tabernacle" which in québécois french is a curse word. So not used to ear youswear, I almost fell out of my chair ahah.
What does "Tabernacle" mean?
It's an item of cult in the catholic church where the priests put the Chalice containing the blood of christ (Wine) and some flat bread (representing his body).
We often pronounce it ta-Bar-nak and it's a common curse word here (pretty close to the F word) because of our catholic roots. I use it often and I'm atheist, just sayin.
Cultural stuff.
Lol I laughed at the french swear word too XP
Lmao this is better than most shows on Netflix. Subscribed.
Another great ep. Happy holidays
Could you do some on Mannimarco or the Tharn family, please?
Tht would be nice
That's what I thought
Don't know if this is true or not but apparently it was the Almsivi that was responsible for the death of Nerevar by poisoning him whilst he was injured by his wounds. It is said that he would have lived otherwise and if he did it coulds have change everything.
7:30 WRONG! you can find the last Dwemmer in Morrowind.
Oh snap its my boy Ornstein!
Thank you for this. None of it ever made any sense to me until now.
At the time of the Council there were Six Houses. Seriously you haven't played through Morrowind and you're making this?
Could be a simple mistake. Not everyone remembers every detail of every piece of lore at all times.
I love the Nerevarine's armor.
Alex Darksider it is actually ornstein armour from dark souls.
Great video, but one question. Why is the Nerevar riding a horse? Horses can't exist in Morrowind's harsh climate.
Probably just for show
SILENCE
They couldn't be bothered getting a guar mod. The whole charm of the dunmer is in how different they are to more generic races like the Imperials and Nords, so giving them horses ruins it somewhat.
magic
***** There's a horse in Morrowind in this video. There shouldn't be, whether ridden or not.
That doesn't make any sense!"
But I really do appreciate your effort in outlining the bulk of it all, and hopefully inspire some people to read in the Imperial Library.
This series is just excellent in its presentation, its contribution to understanding the games and its entertainment value.
I prefer the longer intro. Great video though!
I'm both happy and sad they shortened the intro
dark elves are best elves
I do like dark elves, and this is from a High elf player! Were not all Thamlor!
Daniel Peters You fool! Elven supremacy is the only way!
MannnisEi I know, i said were not all thamlor, i never said i wasn't :D
MannnisEi Skyrim belongs to the Nords! Milk-drinker!
It is time for a new empire, a fourth empire, ruled by the dark elves of House Redoran and under the control of the Nerevarine
Ive always loved your lore videos but always wondered how they were made. Did you take screenshots in game? how did you change it to look like a storybook?
im playing morrowind right now so its nice to listen to this as I play
+Cristalveil I'm finishing up Tribunal and am about to start Bloodmoon. These Lore videos really help to immerse me into the world of Tamriel.
+andyt1313 If you have never played with mods on, I suggest the Rise of House Telvanni mod and Uvirith's Legacy mod.
I love the series. :D
*Spoilers if you haven't played morrowind*
Wondering if the next episode is going to cover the book "Nerevar at Red Mountain" in the Council's secret library, where the Council was revealed to have been lord Nerevar's murderer.
"Amalexia used poisoned candles, Sotha Sil used poisoned robes. and Vivec used poisoned incantations."
I could be wrong, its been a while since I've played Morrowind... *sighs wistfully* I wonder where my old CD is, getting the urge to revist and old favorite!
+canadiangunshy where can i find Amalexia's robe?????
Huh. I didn't know Nerevar and Ornstein the Dragonslayer were the same person.
I have FINALLY done it! I have caught up on ALL Shoddy Cast ESO, Epic Stories & Fallout vids! Sub'd in mid Dec. bcuz of ESO lore vids (Josh, Josh, HE'S our man! If he can't do it, NO ONE can!) and stayed for the rest (except GW, which I am unfamiliar with). I have spent long hours, daily, going from oldest to newest and the day is finally HERE! I feel a bit like Tom Hanks in Cast Away, when he finally manages to make a fire. "I have made FIRE! I have done this!" LOL. :*
MOAR LORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you guys. Will be donating for sure.
What is Ornstein doing here?
I thought exactly the same
Lore-ception!
Another awesome vid, ShoddyCast!
i love this series but somebody needs to do a super detailed one that includes all the alternate debated events.
I love these lore videos! I've played TES since Morrowind but I never knew much about lore. Thanks a lot for giving me an insight. :)
What armor mod was that Dark Elf king wearing?
it looks a bit like ornstien's armor from Dark souls
***** Knew it! Modder is a Dark Souls fan!
great work as always.. I really love the art you are using.. it really make the stories come more to life..
why did you short down the elder scrolls lore series intro and the same with the fallout one:( It was more epic before...
