I don't care what anyone says, Arin is a great drummer! Yeah he's not the Rev, but no one is! Arin can still play what the Rev wrote and it sounds awesome! Can't wait to hear what else he has to offer A7X on the next record!
TheFerrarifan18 I know I'm 4 months late but totally agree bud! Hopefully Arin gets to expand his sound a bit more on the next album, hope they go for that metal vibe again.
Guys Arin isn't a bad drummer, the only reason the drumming is so simple is because they wanted a more classical sound. Matt says it in about every interview about this album.
+garrett Lanctot I mean yeah, but that's not proof he's a great drummer. Think about it this way, a lot of people, especially on TH-cam or people who aren't into music enough consider Lars to be a bad drummer, but on the other hand, his drumming made Enter Sandman, one of the most notable intros to a song, up there with Down With The Sickness by Disturbed. In my mind, a drummer is as good as the material they write, anyone can play other people's songs, I can play most of Avenged Sevenfold's music, does that make me as good as the Rev? Fuck no, he's far more creative than I am. When Arin joined A7X there was a clear switch in styles that could only be written off as "new drummer issues" or, if you want to be blunt, poor choice in replacements.
Arin was the drummer that A7X needed after Portnoy bowed out. Avenged was a band that was in grieving. They had an idol and mentor helping them through the first part. But after that Arin had to not only win over fans after filling in for two drummer gods, he had to help the band through it all. He was a young talent who had a blistering stage presence. Whether he was keeping up with Portnoy in Save Me, or following along perfectly to the Rev in Almost Easy, he did great. And then when things got heavy, he went off. He was and still is an amazing hardcore drummer. Then once the group were ready to move on, they didn't need Arin anymore. He had a platform to launch his career off of and he had helped save the band
I wish they utilised his ability more in Hail to the King. He plays the old song perfectly but in HttK it was mainly just 4/4 stuff. He's super talented and I wish he didn't get this much hate just from that one record
EXACTLY. Everyone who shits on him for “not being a good drummer” completely overlooks this fact. Hail To The King was very stripped back and simple when it came to instrumentation. It doesn’t show off Arin’s true ability.
Stop comparing him to Rev They are different drummers, that means: DIFFERENT skills, styles, technique, attitude, etc Why are you still comparing him with Rev? Rev is dead (unfortunately) and Arin took a big step and risk trying to be behind Rev's shadow He is an awesome drummer, he deserves being recognized as it and not for being "worse" than Rev
Yeah they did this dude dirty, told him hes fired over the phone and then proceeded to say they didn't care about their fans perception of them or some shit. I get they're huge "rockstars" and they wanted a drummer with the same stature but damn.. they didn't have to do him like that.
like m shadows said.. they dont care about genre.. metal / rock.. they doesnt care about that.. they just want to express their love to music.. thats all.. its nothing to do with Arin
i honestly think he got way to much hate, arin was hands down the most accurate to all the songs. because especially songs like afterlife brooks makes it sound too different. don’t get me wrong brooks is way more skilled than arin is but arin was a lot more true to the songs.
Who says that he's a bad drummer? Really? And there's no reason to compare them. I like him more than The Rev... he sounds better and he has very good taste and feel, it's not just madness for madness on the kit.
is a great drummer to be so young ... He still has some way to go but up until now has done a very good job! We will see in the next album will propose what else!
I'm not saying that he's bad In any way but, it confuses me why they thought he was a good replacement for The Rev. Again, not saying he is bad, the band wanted a simplistic style and he provided that. Glad they brought in Brooks, I like him more than The Rev.
Arin is destined for greatness...no doubt. Avenged Sevenfold is the perfect place for him, cant wait till they let him go APE SHIT on the next album...AND HE WILL
Why in the fuck is everyone becoming a triggered feminist over him not saying Almost easy for the song with two rides like cmon guys if that's the biggest worry in your life idk what to say anymore
Brooks is a great drummer don't get me wrong, he's badass but in my opinion he just doesn't fit with sevenfold man, just his style of playing doesn't fit with them and he doesn't rock out or anything, like I said his playing is killer but he just looks like he sits on the kit and plays, doesn't show any showman ship or doesn't rock out and I feel Arin was the best fit for them, great fun drummer and great showman ship
Arin better than the rev... #Fuckta so arin is best timing drumer. not as the rev he play dram is bad and very beast...... so arin is best drummer on A7X.
i think he's not great drummer. he was great when he joined A7X. he just great performer as drummer for A7X live shows at the time.. but after all, thx for saved A7X
Dude complains about using 2 22' A custom cymbals to play "literally one song". Dude, that "one song" is WAY better than your whole "legacy" with the band. That "one song" can crush your drumming. That "one song" was written by a drummer that you will never even acomplish half of what he did. So stop saying "one song" and call it they way it's called: ALMOST EASY
Okay dude we get it rev is always gonna be the greatest drummer. There's no doubt about it. We all miss him still to this day. So shut up about the one song that no one gives a fuck about.
jhoztin Rosales Yea, its sad. I saw them for my first time last month, and he sounded amazing. I have a feeling they'll bring back Mike Portnoy for there new album, or they'll work things out with Arin and they'll bring him back.
+timothy hensel I think they'll bring Portnoy back as a temporary fill-in again while trying to find a drummer who's on the rise of being known, you know, not super famous but others do know about. It would be awesome if they do bring back Portnoy and decide to make him permanent but I highly doubt that. I just hope that whoever they get is not only an awesome drummer but also an awesome song writer like Jimmy (bless that mans soul) and Arin.
I really hate it when people say he's bad. Yes the rev is better but Arin is still amazing... We all just need to accept the fact he's pretty much the permanent drummer for a7x. Give him time he'll get better
How? I think "bad" was a strong choice of word. He's totally solid. He does The Rev's parts more than justice live. Yeah, The Rev was an exceptionally creative and talented drummer, and he's definitely missed, but I think Arin is a suitable replacement. He's a young kid with chops, willing to get out there and prove himself. It's a shame that we didn't really get the strongest debut from Arin on "Hail to the King," in terms of dynamic and overall drum composition, but that was a creative choice by the band... I think whatever they do next, they'll let him shine on it. Even with the style of "Hail to the King" in mind, I think he knocked it out of the park. It was big and heavy, and that's what they wanted from him. Personally, I'm excited to see what Arin brings to the table. Besides, The Rev was a huge influence on him to begin with!
He's not bad, not even in comparison to The Rev. Yes, I do think too that The Rev was better, but in reality, this guy is great. Besides, stop comparing and shit, and start giving this guy some love for once, even if you think he can never beat The Rev on drums, the fact still remains that he's a great guy, and does the job for the band! Also, I'd bet that not even a single person REALLY knows what Arin goes for, so until you give your final say on him, wait till you've seen him add some real contribution to an album, cause on HTTK he didn't have much to say, most stuff wasn't his doing, and the other guys even wanted him to "slow down", so you know nothing yet, neither do I or anyone else!
im sorry but i disagree with your statement, im not saying arin is better than jimmy, but arin is amazing, he can play all the parts jimmy wrote, recorded and performed on drums, so if you're saying arin is a bad drummer that's insulting to jimmy, I know in hail to the king arin had a more stripped back approach, but we have heard him play a very 'jimmy' styled drum track on not ready to die, carry on, coming home and st james, so he is a great drummer and is nearly as good as jimmy
Good luck. You are awesome. Wayyyyy better than that Brooks wackoffman. He plays on a baby drumset. What in the hell is A7x thinking? They need to retire.
+ben/kent lutz/kleinschmidt You are obviously a gay piece of shit. What the fuck do you know about me. Just because you have gay taste doesn't mean you have to reply to my post. Fuck off you weak mutant.
USMCA7X.why do you say that?Wackerman is an incredibly experienced drummer. His work with bad religion is outstanding. I'm sure he will add more to the band in term of songwriting too. Arin was just a bit inexperienced I think, still a decent drummer but he clearly didn't fit in withi the band.
I'm really gonna miss him, but I'm happy with Wackerman. He's a great drummer, and fits in perfectly with em.
Mezmer the new drummer seems playing it too easily without any expression
@@rokenrol17 Wackerman is the Rev favorite drummer, now he replaced the rev
@@muhdnajmibrz they said the same thing about Portney.
@@SilkandScrooge portnoy was always just a temporary solution to get nightmare finished. never meant to be a permanent replacement.
Jakey J He didn't mean the membership, bit what drummer the Rev liked the most.
I don't care what anyone says, Arin is a great drummer! Yeah he's not the Rev, but no one is! Arin can still play what the Rev wrote and it sounds awesome! Can't wait to hear what else he has to offer A7X on the next record!

+Manwhat lol arin won't do another album
'Ding'Ding'Ding' We have a winner!
Brooks is better than The Rev. Arin's a good drummer, but the shoes were too big for him to fill.
Guys Arin isn't a bad drummer, the only reason the drumming is so simple is because they wanted a more classical sound. Matt says it in about every interview about this album.
garrett Lanctot You're a fucking idiot, Arin plays The Rev's parts for older A7X songs perfectly during concerts, in addition to the tracks for HTTK.
fireboltred I meant isn't
***** the rev is way better but arin is what a7x needs right now, I made a typo and I meant to right isn't
check out confide shout the truth. he did the drums on that album, so solid, this guy is tight
+garrett Lanctot I mean yeah, but that's not proof he's a great drummer. It was a great run Arin! Best of luck in the future.
Arin was the drummer that A7X needed after Portnoy bowed out. Avenged was a band that was in grieving. They had an idol and mentor helping them through the first part.

All the Deathbats will miss you Arin! :(

+Josh Lukowicz same
No we won't
At least thanks him
I too
I wish they utilised his ability more in Hail to the King. He plays the old song perfectly but in HttK it was mainly just 4/4 stuff. He's super talented and I wish he didn't get this much hate just from that one record
Well, in HTTK they wanted to keep it simple. But it sure is interesting to wonder what The Stage would have sounded like with him.
EXACTLY. Everyone who shits on him for “not being a good drummer” completely overlooks this fact. Hail To The King was very stripped back and simple when it came to instrumentation. It doesn’t show off Arin’s true ability.
I will miss him seing with Avenged Sevenfold
+MB.Rulox8 NO!
+MB.Rulox8 Me too, he is a good drummer

The best drummer!!!!! Arin
he is my favorite drummer
Stop comparing him to Rev
They are different drummers, that means: DIFFERENT skills, styles, technique, attitude, etc

Rev is dead (unfortunately) and Arin took a big step and risk trying to be behind Rev's shadow

The Break Down Series for him pleaseeeeeee !!!!!
I Love this song...drumming Rocks!
Very underrated. It's unfortunate that he's no longer in the band
Yeah they did this dude dirty, told him hes fired over the phone and then proceeded to say they didn't care about their fans perception of them or some shit. I get they're huge "rockstars" and they wanted a drummer with the same stature but damn.. they didn't have to do him like that.
THE REV & ARIN ILEJAY MY IDOL 🤘
thanks a lot arin, we love you, thanks for 4 years, you're a grrat drummer too :)
Love his work in Confide!
Still wish he would and the other from Confide would make another solid album. The original Shout the Truth was beast with him.
+Sahiv Lopez yeah. his drums on album are amazing and there was no fuckin Joel
I love that fill at 2:37!
and now arin is leaving a7x.. thanks arin for what youve done to a7x.. without you a7x is nothing.. once again.. thank you 😢
He's done nothing he made the bands album shitty
but at least.. the band is still continue making music.. than split up.. haters please just fuck off

JJ would never join this band.
+Jake MarkPitts But Brooks Wackerman!! Hes fuckn sick!
Keep up the good work Arin!

Christian Vidal you can't listen to showmanship on an album.
Rev was Sabian *grabs popcorn*
*gets no replies* (except for me)
Lol Lol and me :)
thats why im here 😂
How weird that with all 4 drummers that have played w/ A7X, 2 played Sabian and 2 played (/play) Zildjian.
CR7TheGunner wonder if brooks leaves, if they het a paiste or meinl
i like arin at a7x
Come back
a7x bateristi mesut ozil
+Berke Tasdemir so close
+Berke Tasdemir Ozil is far, far uglier. And overrated. LOL
haklısın kardeş
now I'm more interested in the whole drum set up he has. Im sure its similar to how The Rev had it but idk. Cool stuff :)
You can look it up but the one from Drum magazine isn't accurate
Quick question: The Rev. SABIAN??
good bye arin :'(
via dalla band per divergenze creative!
I wonder he use the rev drum sticks
He looks Eurasian. What's his ethnicity?
Arin is half Filipino and half white. I would consider that Eurasian.
miss arin played with avenged sevenfold
The rev😡! Who died
+Joseph Perez yeah I'm sure he's aware. Arin is no longer in A7X either.
Confide
Didnt know bruno mars used to be the drummer for avenged sevenfold
Only has 2 rides to play Almost Easy
Servando Gonzalez and critical acclaim
Who is this guy? Mesut ozil or bruno mars?
Why does he looks like Rami Malek?
I miss Arin's drumming
Really wish mike portnoy would have came back. But brooks is really good too

For me he is good then Brook...
Wackerman es mucho más q este flaquito, no entiendo q le vio Avenged.. es un baterísta de lo simple fills muy básicos..

Alejandro Lino absolutely loved that last part
I didn't hear any complaining at all xD He literally just mentioned that he uses them on one song.
Okay dude we get it rev is always gonna be the greatest drummer. There's no doubt about it. We all miss him still to this day. So shut up about the one song that no one gives a fuck about.

Ya. I liked Arin tho.

Brooks*

Terrible Drumming
Come back
