Soft start video would be great. Don
A Soft Start video would be fantastic. Thank you, Emily! We are so grateful for your instructive videos.
Soft start, sure
Thanks
the answer is yes...if the roof is big enough and you have the basement ..8 #rec 470 watt panel with a roof rack mount and a big basement like the 40ft rv's have you get blueyitti 1 AC500 & 4 B300Sspace not only your ac but everthing thats in your rv as long as you have good sun...the money for this set up about 15k$
Soft start video…..yes
I'll put it on the list!
i have watched tons of videos on RV maintenance and repair; I consider myself handy and knowledgeable: YOU are simply Amazing!
we have 1800 watts of solar on the roof wired into a 5000 sungoldpower inverter/charge controller thats connected to (4) 200AH lithium batteries. we also havew a soft start on our ac and can run our ac all day while the sun is out and then for about 5 hours once the sun sets. our solar setup powers our entire rv. we love it and it has saved us a ton on fuel because we bookdock a ton
Looking to get into solar here soon.. living in my stationary rv full time and boy oh boy this heat sucks. Most important thing for me is definitely keeping an ac going during a power outage. Appreciate the video!
Hi I sent you a message about the water heater! I put the message in your post from 7 months ago. The first step in repairing your water heater. Thank you
very clearly explained, thanks Emily..
Glad it was helpful!
MPPT is a type of charge controller, the other common type is PWM.
Thank you! I now understand how this works.
Yes! So glad you got it Karen. Was worried cause this was kind of an in the weeds video that people be able to follow me.
Great video!!
Thanks!
Can you fix the audit tool link.
Thank you for the great video
Very nice approach !! I have 1 question , I have two 200 watt panels can I FEED 2 MPPT CONTROLLERS from them , that is both to each controller ? Parrell that is.
Why did you double the 600 ah to get your watts needed? What's the logic behind that? That's the point where you lost me. Up to that point this was a really good video for beginners.
I hope you do more on solar/battery/inverter system videos with more information. One thing we didn't know is how the RV's converter interfered with our inverter.
She was referring to a scenario of using lead acid batteries which you should only discharge up to 50%. This means you would need 1200 ah for lead acid as opposed to the 600 ah for lithium for this example.
@@ralphpetry1745 She was talking about the number of solar panels would be needed to fill 600ah of batteries. Nothing to do with the lead acid vs lithium section.
The doubling is just a simplified rule of thumb.
The full math would be (600ah)/(6 hours of assumed sunlight) to get 100 Amps.
Then amps x volts = watts. (we're trying to get to watts because that's what the solar panels are rated in)
We're on the Dc side of things so the volts is 12 V.
So... 100 amps X 12 Volts = 1,200 Watts.
In the end you're multiplying by 12 and dividing by 6 which comes out to just multiplying by 2.
I hope that made sense!
@@rvrepairwoman yes it does - thank you! 🙂

Thank you Emily!!!
Thank you for watching!!!
