      @@kellymcclendon6601They put Texas at the #3 spot so they wouldn’t have to use a tiebreaker for Alabama and Texas for the 4 spot, because we all know Texas wins that from head to head. They knew what they were doing. They justified it with a BS reason. FSU beat the spread twice with a backup. Beating a top 15 Louisville team by 10 with a 3rd string backup gets you crapped on, but winning just one game earlier against a mediocre Auburn team who was unranked and is now 6-5….doesn’t hurt you. What makes their selection wrong?! There is no und power-5 guarantee! But, then again, FSU controlled their own destiny! If they had impressed when the committee was looking for a state-your-case moment, they almost assuredly would not have been left out; that's how unprecedented it is for a 1 loss team to leap-frog an undefeated power-5 team! With all Alabama did, if FSU could separate themselves from Iowa*, they'd have been in! Without Travis, that was going to be difficult(but why should they get in automatically on an undefeated season based on a 55th SOS alone) RG3 was a Big 12 player(and there is an us VS them mentality when it comes to the other conf when it comes to the SEC), Brando used to hate Alabama(maybe he still does), etc.

    The problem with the Jordan Travis injury keeping us out of the 4 best narrative is that ESPN was already planting the seed that a one loss Bama should get into the playoffs over an undefeated FSU in a segment on Game Day prior to JT’s injury where they were going over theoretical playoff madness. But they go on to say it probably would not be successful as participation is voluntary and the commissioner of each conference agreed to abide by the BSC decision. They didn’t mention that the suit would be after the fact. Also the conferences themselves squabbled over the expansion delaying its start till next year. I'm from the UK, and I have to say it's ridiculous that FSU got left out of the playoffs. Over here, we have a soccer competition, the FA Cup. Where teams from all league's take part. So you can end up having one of the biggest clubs playing a very small team. The beauty of this is that every now and then, the big team loses to the small team. Every now and then, the underdog will win 🏆. That's is the purity and beauty of fucking sport.

    Longhorn here. I watched it all. I will say the same thing I have always said. It is not a playoff, it is an invitational. There is no way a system that has any provision other than win and you are in, will never be a true playoff system. The 12 team playoff will have this same problem. You can't pick teams. If you could, the Game Day hosts would have better records than they do at picking winners at the end of every show. No one can predict the winners of college football games with more accuracy than flipping a coin over the course of a year. You can cherry pick games and probably get up to 60 maybe 65% but if anyone were given just 20 random games every Sat morning to pick, a coin flip might be better than most of the experts.
    A "true" playoff would have a system that allowed every single player and coach to know EXACTLY what they had to do to be in, before the first practice of the year. The only reason that isn't what is happening is because of TV ratings.

      Absolutely. But then they'll argue Alabama had a tougher schedule and better strength of schedule. Sure, but not by much. And on paper Alabama's and Georgia's resume looks really good and schedule looks tough, but when you dig into the schedules of Ole Miss, Tennessee and Missouri, the three wins boosting their resume down the stretch, you will see that those teams did not have very tough schedules. So this is the scheme of the SEC - overrated teams that stay over-ranked when they lose and boost up each other, especially Alabama and Georgia. Alabama's toughest out of conference game they lost. Georgia didn't even play an out of conference game. This is why the the head to head conference records matter, because SEC gets by from the mystique of being the "toughest conference". Another team is currently being investigated for violations at least that’s what the discussion is out there. I cannot say this for certain this is an absolute disgrace ESPN should be held accountable along with the chairman of the selection committee and members. It’s a disgrace move on Louis go home. What does matter is that they went undefeated, the "next man up"on this team was bought into 100%. Backup has won must have games, and that's what matters. For other Gator fans like me... Rodemaker is as good if not better than UF Mertz. Fact is Gators are not good and won't be for another couple years, maybe another coach away. Would this had happened to Bobby Bowden if he were still alive and coaching at FSU, NO! It's about lack of respect and NO accountability. In Washington D.C. when House and Senate members vote they keep track and it is public who doesn't want the wall, who wants open borders, who want's to eliminate our 1st and 2nd amendments, abolish the constitution. And with that our voices get heard. The NCAA has no accountability and could not prove in court that ESPN and others did not have a huge plan and appealed to the elites. The NCAA should be made to make public all the voters, names, names of coaches, names of sport media personalities and who they voted for and reasoning. The mere fact that they don't only prooves the disfunction in college sports, NBA all stars, NFL pro bowlers, etc. Until the NCAA has full transparencies this will continue to happen no matter how many teams you let in next season. A class action lawsuit should be filed by the players of FSU and coaches against NCAA. They are the one that thought sports would be better with NIL, Sports betting, Vegas gambling, etc... college Sports have been ruined by ESPN, Disney, Sports illustarated and the gambling. Make NCAA monetarily crippled. And Nick Saban must have some stuff on the director of NCAA!

    The committee over-ranked SEC mid-level teams all season. The most egregious is Tennessee (8-4)final ranking of #21 . They did this to ensure Missouri had a top 25 win …Missouri was then “justified” to be top 10. This dynamic props up Alabama as well.

    • @corners7014
      @corners7014 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't help Alabama. What helps Alabama is a win over Georgia. But you could honestly say the same about LSU, Arizona, Notre Dame, NC State, Oregon State, Clemson and Kansas State. Its not just Tennessee and LSU that were overrated and its not just the SEC. Every power 5 conference except the BIG 10 (although I've seen a lot of Iowa haters) had teams ranked where they shouldn't have been which boosted SOS.

    There's more parody among the conferences than most think, especially among mid tier teams. At the top there are the usual suspects in each confr. and Clemson having a down year (for Clemson) doesn't make the ACC a bad confr.
