I’m a canes fan and I’m not celebrating. This is horrendous. To the canes fans celebrating: we’re also in the ACC. This could easily happen to us.
Any fan of an ACC team celebrating this is truly an idiot. They literally told all of us no team from our conference belongs in the top 4 ever again. And the 12 team playoff won't help. They will be putting SEC teams with 3 and 4 losses ahead of 1 and 2 loss (or even undefeated) ACC teams.

We must boycott ESPN! Contact their advertisers and request that they pull their ads from ESPN. We have to deal with them in their market level because that's all they have to support their industry. @philliprailey7788 injuries had no impact on why fsu didn't get in. 2014 ohio state qb went down everyone counted them out next man up one them a national championship. There's no excuse to Florida state out with an undefeated season that qb would have a month to prepare for the bowl game more than enough time to be prepared to take the field if this was alabama in Florida state position I can guarantee you they would be calling for the committees heads.
I am a life long Georgia Bulldog. A graduate, a scholarship athlete and a great lover and admirer of our football program. That said I think what has happened to Florida State is a travesty. To leave you out so they could bring in two one loss teams like alabama and Texas ? They should be ashamed. They should all be removed. The entire system should be burned to the ground. My team dropped from number 1 where we had been all season, to number 6 by losing to a one loss, not so good alabama team. That hurts like sin. But it is nowhere close to what they did to you.
It should now officially be called the Alabama Invitational. God I hope that catches on!

I’m no FSU fan so I come at this with no bias or agenda. FSU got screwed because there’s no way on earth there will ever be a playoff without an SEC team. Never. ESPN will not let it happen. Herbsreit et al started laying the groundwork for this weeks ago when they were pimping for Bama and Georgia being in. Imagine if the Bama QB got hurt, they barely won their last games, their offense sputtered, and they got left out. The narrative would be completely different today. They’d be talking about Bamas resiliency and ability to come together and win and they deserved to be in.

You can be the best team all season and lose when it counts and get left out. Look what LITERALLY just happened to Georgia. They were the best team all year and they lost when they couldn't afford to lose. That's what happens in sports. You don't know who's going to win before it happens, if you did, everybody would be rich from sports betting.
They had this planned for Indiana in 2020 had they beat Ohio state too. So this Hoosier is with FSU.

What drove the decision? Politics, religious fervor in favor of SEC, money, Bias against ACC, NOT WINNING RECORD. Why play 15 weeks of football in Fall? Just play one game in November n decide who goes to play off. It is a disastrous decision disadvantaging a whole lot of athletes who played their hearts out for the entire season n won every game.

They were determined to get an SEC team in the final four, even if that had to screw an undefeated ACC champion to do it. They were praying FSU would lose to Louisville but FSU did what they’ve done all season - find a way to win. I hope the money was worth screwing these kids out of their championship opportunity. They were going to exclude FSU no matter what. If the Seminoles had beaten #14 Louisville by 40 points and Glenn threw 5 touchdowns they would have still put Alabama in over FSU. This was fixed a long time ago.

Two things. Alabama is first team to reach the playoffs while being outside the top 6 and the SEC bias continues as the committee placed an SEC team into the playoffs this year making an SEC team to reach the playoffs in every CFP.
I will continue to watch and support FSU football but I’m done with CFB altogether.

Another huge question is why they didn’t take Michigan’s cheating scandal into account. They admitted they cheated and agreed to his three game suspension. That means they knew they cheated. And apparently their offensive stats went way down after the scandal came to light. How come that was never taken into account by the committee? Should’ve left those cheaters out and put FSU in.
NCAA investigation into Michigan is ongoing. Harbaugh denies any knowledge of illegal sign stealing and no evidence has yet been presented that contradicts that. B1G suspended Harbaugh for violating their Sportsmanship Policy. Not an admission to anything.
Without any final conclusion, it would be premature to punish Michigan yet.
Now, I feel bad for the Florida State squad for this. However, Sign stealers are legal in our sport. Since all the teams we played still had theirs and we were short other staff members as well, It is plausible we had to work alil harder in those games due to the self inflected situation. Also, Due to the high standards at Michigan they went ahead and let it play out instead of turning it into a bigger shit show.🤷 Go Blue!

And Michigan obviously knows they did something wrong since they agreed to the suspension. The point is nobody can be sure what competitive advantage was gained from this just like nobody can really be sure what disadvantage can be had from losing your quarterback. Saying this as a Miami fan, this is the most ridiculous decision the committee has ever made. Their reasoning for putting Bama in is because they were “unequivocally better” and they are trying to get the “4 best teams”. So Bama and Georgia battle to a 27-24 game. Committee determines Alabama is definitely better than FSU, but Georgia is definitely not and ranks them at #6 with FSU #5. Incredibly interesting take. I’d bet had Bama not converted that Hail Mary against Auburn but still beat Georgia in the SEC championship, the committee would have ranked Georgia at #4 over FSU just to ensure the SEC got in at all costs.

Exactly! They knew the plans all along! I was telling my dad this yesterday. They would have ignored the lost and did a repeat of TCU losing last year in the title game. The shit is a sham and the 12 team playoff is about to make it worst! They are going to allow the SEC and Big10 to basically only play games in conference so the only comparison is internal. Then the top 10-11 teams will be preset every year as the top SEC teams mixed with Michigan, ohio state, penn state, USC, Washington Oregon. There will be 1 or 2 wildcards for a 2-3 lost SEC team vs an ACC champ or Big 12 champ. They will guarantee that the SEC and Big10 champs and runner ups get a bye week to help them. No one will care as long as they get in the playoff about the 4 teams anymore. But you can see how that will be an advantage and ensure they can continue to rig this.

I cannot imagine a more grotesque way to disrespect our DEFENSIVE PLAYERS than use Travis's injury as an excuse. So defense no longer wins championships and obviously a dominant defense doesn't have the entertainment value that a high scoring offense does.

The CFP committee didn't drop Georgia from #1 down a couple of spots when Georgia lost Brock Bowers, they did nothing they kept them ranked at #1 yet everyone said having Brock out was a huge issue for Georgia.

I don't think that it is SEC bias, it's Alabama bias. Several years ago Bama won a championship by beating LSU 21-0. They picked Bama over Okie State because Saban pitched a fit. LSU beat Bama that year on Bama's home field. LSU won the SEC that year and if Okie State didn't lose their last game, Okie State would have been in the NC game. Saban had a fit and started complaining to the NCAA selection committee. Bama was let in and OKIE State was left out. I honestly thought that FSU would definitely be in the playoffs but I was wrong. I'm not surprised that Bama was picked and I won't be surprised if they win it all. Do you remember when Auburn was undefeated and didn't go anywhere? We just need to sit back and watch Bama win it all every year. I'm not going to watch the games because the winner has already been decided. Saban isn't going anywhere in the coming years. The NCAA will always find a way to get Bama in. Bama will win it all this season. Saban and the NCAA will find a way to have Bama win it all. I think if the committee believes FSU cannot qualify, show all the votes to prove this was already determined before hand which I think raises a good point, why play the conference title game if the decision has already been decided and have the decency to tell that to each FSU personnel and especially the coach.

Alright, if you think FSU this year is better than Alabama, swap both teams' opponents from the last game and tell me how it plays out. Does Alabama, who dogwalked Kentucky, lose to the Louisville team Kentucky AND Pitt beat? Highly doubtful. Does FSU go into Atlanta and beat unbeaten Georgia with a QB who had 55 yards and not a single touchdown against Louisville? Hell no.
If you wanna adopt an "It doesn't matter FSU had less quality wins, they deserve it more because they didn't lose" stance, I'd argue Liberty has a stronger claim to the spot than FSU because they have all the same upsides as FSU (undefeated conference champions) but didn't struggle nearly as much against their opponents AND still have all their key starters.
It would be an incredible country IF football fans were as passionate about getting rid of the level of corruption in gùbment as there appears to be in college football playoff selections.

They deserved that 3rd spot (FSU, being undefeated, is more deserving than Texas IMO...and Alabama has no business being in the top 4 at all). Football is a team sport, and no injury should adversely affect a team's standing if they continue to win. Unbelievable. I empathize with your frustration.

Being undefeated in a P5 conference should mean something. Strength of Schedule is important when considering tie breakers, but wins do matter and losses do to. FSU got screwed. Alabama should not be in.

You just gained a new subscriber. Every point you made was right on. Now what needs to be done about this? Hit the NCAA, CFP, and the ACC where it hurts, the wallet. Two different ways this can be done. Fans and boosters need to be upset, put pressure on the the FSU AD to actually do something besides a letter on social media. Pressure the ACC to take a stand, to examine what happened in that room on Saturday night. More than an apology needs to happen. These actions will show the athletes and potential recruits that FSU cares about them and will stand up for them. The second way that we can hurt their income, don't play. Everyone shows up to the orange bowl, practice all week, athletes get their gear, game starts, after the first snap, politely decline to continue the game. Walk off the field. The ACC, NCAA, and CFP are forced to do something. 3 hours of dead air time and some pissed off sponsors will hit their wallets.

2014...Preseason: Ohio State looked like they were a team destined for a spot in the first ever College Football Playoff at the FBS level. Then, before the season, OSU lost Braxton Miller, their starting QB. So, redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett had to play a vast majority of the season, and he played very well. Then, in the last game of the year, Barrett went down with a season ending injury, and the preseason third string QB, Cardale Jones led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten championship, an unlikely CFP berth, and eventually, a national championship in the inaugural CFP final. A preseason third string QB, who didn't become the starter until the Big Ten Championship Game. The CFP committee included the Buckeyes even though they had two QBs out with injuries. And then OSU won it all. That is called a precedent. An injury to a prime player didn't stop the committee in 2014 from putting the buckeyes into the playoffs.And that's why the committee has to try and convince people that Travis' injury wasn't the reason FSU dropped from 4th to 5th. Of course, most people know that's not true.
The same year TCU was raked 3d Ohio state was 5th. Their reasoning : no big !2 championship game. But TCU and Baylor were co champions. It was their worst decision until this year. Even though /OSU won. The leaving out of Georgia is what shook me. There is no way in hell, Georgia isn’t flop 4.even if they are 1 they def are not 6. As a (insert one of Alabama's rivals here)'s fan, I just have to say that this pissed me off and FSU got totally robbed.
What if FSU beats Georgia who was the #1 team all year and goes 14-0, and a 1-loss team like Texas or Alabama wins? Then they'll look like even bigger fools because if they beat Georgia they could beat any of the other teams in the playoff, and you can argue that FSU is the legitimate champion since they'll be the only undefeated team left at the top.
What if FSU sues the committee and espn and wins? They get in the playoff and righteousness prevails. Liberty needs to stand with the Noles on this

what gets me is Alabama barely beat auburn, a 6-6 team that lost to new mexico state, never talked about. Washington barely beat a 2 win arizona state and only scored 15 on them. Washington struggled against a 2 win Stanford, never mentioned. Michigan had almost the exact yardage and points as fsu, but they had their starting qb against Iowa, never talked about. fsu defense held the number 11 team with a top 20 offense to 2 field goals and under 200 yards
You are spot on. If Iowa could've brought some sort of offense with them, even ordinary like an average team, that game would've been different. Michigan has been unimpressive lately.

Games won on the field used to matter. This decision says the games played before conference games don't matter anymore. Only who you beat in conference and there previous seasons win.
@@TPizzle96and did Kentucky play. No so why bring it up. One team can have a bad week and lose to Kentucky and then go to the next week and win. So it doesn't matter this kentucky beat them so by proxy kentucky would be better
