ACL Rehab weeks 4 to 8

  • After an ACL surgery many patients are unsure how to start their rehab. In this video we look at the important components from week 4 to 8. To move to this phase of rehab you need to achieved complete knee extension (straightening of your knee). Knee extension is a critical phase of your rehab program and cannot be brushed over. Between weeks 4-8 you are starting the strengthening and muscle activation process. This phase looks to develop the key motor patterns which will cross over into landing technique and game simulation.
    As you can imagine recovering from ACL surgery can feel like a full time job as there are so many things you need to do. In these videos we are really looking at the knee specific exercises and not even touching base on some of the important stabilisation and core muscle aspects.
