  • Here's a vlog from a perfect summer day in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow. Other Scottish things that make an appearance:
    - Irn Bru
    - the Squinty Bridge (officially the Clyde Arc) and
    - the River Clyde
I spent as much of this glorious summer outside as possible; this is a taste of what that looked like. :)

I enjoyed this, seeing old stomping ground. Yeah you were on Argyle Street, it's broken into 3 bits by city changes over the years, unbroken it would be 2 miles long, running from Glassford Street/Trongate all the way to across the River Kelvin and it would be a debate whether it or Duke Street Glasgow was longer.
Where you were sitting at the start you didnt know about the building/s behind, they are simply residences. Extremely prime real estate residences originally built for the merchants, currently a 3 bedroom duplex is for sale there for £1.1million+(!)
You passed by flat grass and the _blaes_ pitch, I wonder if you encountered that dated word. It describes the red gravel type stuff on some old style playing surfaces. Back in the day there used to be big games played on that pitch, great fun, loads of semi-serious games with local lads, Anderston boys used to hang out, but one outstanding game was when a group of 7 English lads were staying at the hostel up there, and they wanted to play these 5 French lads who were doing the same. My friend, a girl actually, and I as Scots made up the Auld Alliance France team and we totally pumped them by passing a lot 🤣🤣🤣 I must have played 100 times on that pitch, no joke.
Then on your way out, you crossed Sauchiehall Street right before you got to Argyle, which is also a pretty long street! Hope you're still enjoying Glasgow, or if you;ve gone now hope you have good memories! ✌💙🤍💙

Oh thanks so much for your detailed comment Azulinho! I loved reading all of it :)
I'm amazed that those buildings are residences. What a dream to be able to live there! Wow at £1M+ though!
I hadn't heard the word blaes before - thanks for teaching it to me. :)
And yes eventually I realised that that street is Sauchiehall - it's much longer than I imagined. Very cool that I could walk all the way into the city centre from there.
I am still in Glasgow and making wonderful memories. Glad this video got you to enjoy some nostalgia. :)
