Very nice plane but most of us cannot afford it but it's nice to see someone can enjoy it and not worry about the cost.

I note that the prop supplied is sized for a 4S, 12x6. They recommend a 13x8 with a 3S. I bought mine as this year has been so windy and this plane does well in wind.
I maidened mine today with no wind. Had to make some adjustments. I used a 2200 mah 4S and it lasted fine. I do not use full power except in vertical type stuff so I do not need that much battery and the 2200 keeps the weight lower. In knife edge it seems to want to turn towards the canopy a little but I only got 2 flights.
Looks and flies uniquely… this is the plane you want to get. And yes, I have one😄

It’s an awesome plane!!
I've been flying mine for a week now. Mixed throttle management gives nice flight times on 2200 4s. VERY stable in the air once trimmed out. Current color scheme a little difficult to see against a partly cloudy sky. The checker board under side looks cool up close but a set of black stripes would certainly help with orientation at altitude. Struggles in the grass with the wheel pants unless the field is well manicured. I have a new undercarriage and a set of Dave Brown wheels ordered as our grass field can get a little rough some times. Maybe swap back to the original set when I get a chance to fly off a hard surface. Its a nice predictable flyer. The 1.4M wing span fits in my trunk (2000 Toyota Avalon) but the overall length didn't fit the depth of the trunk until I took off the spinner/prop assembly. The wings do come off easy enough with the 4 screws if you want to transport it that way. Over-all, its definitely a fun flyer.
I haven't been out to fly in a while because of the weather, I'm sure the temperature is more favorable in your location but the rest of the deep south has been experiencing a heat wave.

Is anything missing from the plane? At 6:13-6:15 it looks like a sticker/tape fluttering off the right of the plane. Good flight!
Flat spin reminder (upright): nose down, both sticks bottom left or both bottom right. There’s your “regular” spin. Slowly reverse the ailerons and play with small throttle bursts to flatten it. Opposite rudder and add throttle to exit.

Good stuff Saylors!! I really like my Commander as well. It's a really nice looking aircraft. The only two things they should've added/done are nylon hinges, everybody is flying it hard, and kept some of the red 🇺🇲.

Nice plane. great flying beautiful day. Jealous here in UK weekdays flat calm while I'm working #~*^ then weekends 20+ winds. Great endurance with 2200 4s. I have a HK Me109 similar endurance once in the sky. But off of grass it wants to kill its self as the springy under carriage bounces it in the air too quick then followed by big tip stall (cos of low air speed) a proves handful on/getting off the ground. Your Commander flew great without any major vices. Would interesting to see you fly one, you have bonus of a runway so should a lot be easier to take off (didn't come with safe). Your great flyer Nate time to take hem training wheels off. Don't think just do it as Tom would say

I haven’t been in the hobby about 10 years but at that time my favorite plane was the Trojan have you flown that plane I would like to get something that compares to the Trojan
Cant do the dumb crap once I tried the smart battery tech, got dumb ones I still run but not so often.

I picked up my commander on Monday and i can’t get forward programming to work on my dx6E nor the Dx8e radios. I don’t want to fly it in just safe mode.. and both radios are new from horizon.
