    It's nice to see a way of eating that doesn't leave you afraid of one or another particular food group but instead an emphasis on eating good, whole foods in moderate amounts. Even though it's suggested to limit sugar, it's not completely off limits. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

    I'm an American who has lived outside the U.S. off and on since 1990, mostly Europe and Asia. I'm also a professional chef, trained at Le Cordon Bleu. A balanced diet of fresh ingredients combined with portion size is essential. It took a long time to stop thinking of meals in American portions and realize portions should be the size of your fist, or around 4 oz. or 1/2 cup (100g). As I get older, I find I eat less and prefer small bites (1 egg instead of 2, a cup of soup instead of a bowl).

    I'm neither french nor over weight but I find these videos so well done. They help me balance out my food choices and keep things more uncomplicated. I was very happy to see bread and potatoes included, some of my favorites. Also the dark chocolate you showed, I bought the same exact brand-and 100% cocoa this very day.

    I usually eat my dinner from pasta bowls. Never big plates. And I have Little bowls for yogurt and fruit so i dont eat too much. Most of this diet is the diet I eat in US. But I am half french and funny is I always ate toast with jam and very little butter, and coffee for breakfast haha. These french genes are deep.

    I live in Cyprus, luckily the produce here is fresh and there's a lot of variety in vegetables and fruit, but the prices went so high you literally need a small fortune to buy seasnal fruit and veggies. Not to mention the price of meat, seafood, cheese and eggs! It's crazy

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Hello. I understand for seafood but for eggs and cheese it is not understandable that they become so expensive. It's the same in Paris. When processed products are cheaper than basic products like eggs and cheese it becomes problematic. Thanks for watching. Have a nice day 😊

    I really like your channel as I’m more interested in learning home cooking recipes of different countries. These recipes from everyday home cooks tell a lot about cultures and people.
    The only French cheese I tried was brie. I found them bit heavy for my stomach. I decided to give Camembert a try after seeing it featured in almost all your videos, and they are delicious. The only problem is I don’t see them in my local stores recently. I read from news bacterias used to make Camembert facing extinction a while ago. I truly hope that was not the case.
    Thanks for this informative video!

    I am an American, and my tip to eat healthfully is to shop the perimeter of the store, go into the center aisles and only buy what is on your list, and to chose packaged foods with the least number of ingredients. An example, chose Wasa or matzo crackers over triscuits. Choose triscuits over townhouse. Chose 100% whole wheat bread over white bread, same for pasta. Brown rice instead of white.
    For vegan items, chose almond milk over coconut or oat. Chose cashew cheese over daiya, and tofu/tempeh/seitan over pea-protein or soy isolate based mock meats.
    For all dairy products, vegan or not, choose unsweetened, no artificial sugar, and full fat if applicable. Unsweetened soy yogurt is the best nutritionally for vegans, but you have to make it yourself. Silk plain soy yogurt (has a little sugar) is better than most others.
    For the owner of thr channel, would love to know more about why the French choose white rice/pasta/bread instead of whole wheat, and what people who cannot have dairy eat instead in France. Say they have severe lactose intolerance or a milk allergy.

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Hello, thanks for sharing. For bread when you buy sourdough bread in a regular bakery it's alway made with whole wheat. For the white pasta, rice, etc. some people certainly eat whole wheat pasta and rice as they are available in stores. But I don't know the proportion. For dairy products I know people who don't eat cheese either because they are intolerant or because they don't like the strong taste of French cheeses. Those who want to substitute milk take almond or soy milk. Have a nice evening 😌

    I spent some time in French, gave French friend. I saw how much they eat sweet, French people definitely gave a sweet tooth, sweet breakfast, and sweet desert, orange juice and so on. I would not digitalize French diet. It is if course better then western diet but still has its downsides. The reason why not French people are not so obese as in other countries is the restricted timing of eating, and the amount of food they it, sweet breakfast and light lunch made me so hungry before dinner, no snacking. And there is a huge grossofobie it is kinda shameful to be obese, I guess those are the reasons

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Hello, yes, what you say about this vision of weight in France is quite true, but I would say especially in Paris. Contrary to popular belief, we also have health problems linked to being overweight and obese in France. I also recently made a short with statistics on the subject. For sugar, we have a sweet tooth, but in the traditional way of eating, this was not the case, and I think that explains these health problems. Thanks for watching ☺️

    • @ivanrevkov843

      @@easyfrenchdiet I would say what you show in the video is an ideal case of French diet, Something to strive for. But I guess the main reason lower obesity rate is no snacking and rigid eating time windows, people are very intentional about keeping meal retials in France, and it is a good thing

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Yes, indeed, you're right, I show the traditional way of eating. The way my grandparents and parents use to eat and taught me. I think it is still the way of eating of the majority of people in France. But unfortunately others have moved away from it and eat and snack junk and sugary products all day long with the consequences we know. I see this all the time in my practice.

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Hello. for the plates I also wonder if it's not the foodie trend too because in restaurants the plates are always bigger. but it is clear that for use on a daily basis it is not a good idea that they sell them so large because it distorts the perception of the quantities.
