Well done! I "ran" MCM as well....though since I was only in about 10 to 12 mile shape I planned to walk...a lot. Which I did...probably more than half the race. I went with the Mizuno Neo Vista since I needed something that was comfortable for running and lots of walking. Towards the end my feet were definitely getting a bit cranky in the shoe, but overall I think it was a good choice.
@@bpg201 awesome! Congrats on the marathon. I did a 20 miler on the Neo Vista. It did also feel a little too mushy and unstable toward the end. I love the shoe and the bounce but it deteriorates after time
I need to try it. I got a pair of the deviate elite 3s...that foam is killer. It wants to cadence as well, really wants to stay mid or forefoot but amazing propulsion imo. I love my DN2 for a speed day shoe as well but really hope that foam from the the elite 3 ends up in some more of their shoes.
@@coreyadcock awesome . They were sold out of the DNE3 so that’s why I went with thiese , I saw Rory link later run some marathons in them so i figured why not . The DNE3 is much lighter to my understanding
Yup, I definitely need to try those out. Gave the Cielo X 1 a go and my legs feel pretty wrecked after a hard 16 miles on them. Not sure exactly what it is but I prefer the Adios Pro 3 and Alphafly 1 for race day. Next build I’m gonna pick up a pair of the Puma FastR2
@@SantaCruzRunner thanks for the input on cielo x 1. I’ve heard most people like the ride but use it only as a trainer because it’s so heavy. But it dropped at the trials and every influencer was raving about it, so I figured it might be overhyped. Some unconscious bias if you’re flown to the trials, given shoes, covering America’s best runners …maybe I’m projecting but I think I would get caught up in the joy
Still haven’t tried Puma!! (Which isn’t saying much, lots of brands I have yet to..) these are quite interesting to me… that extended plate and all… lots of good stuff coming from Puma lately. Great review, boss! Can I call you boss? Like, shoe boss? Running boss?? 😂
Nice work Broseff!! I wonder if the forefoot rocker position is also perfectly placed for you to assist your transition. Seems like there’s plenty of toe spring and a very stiff carbon plate
I loved this shoe (I did a few good runs in it) and really wanted to use it at MCM. However - the forefoot was so narrow it literally made my feet numb for some reason (and I don’t have wide feet - the Puma Nitro Elite v3 fits perfectly for example). In the end I decided to return them, as they never loosed up and I didn’t want to risk the marathon in them… Shoutout to PUMA by the way for excellent return policy here in the US of A.
They do indeed . I need to try to deviate nitro elite 3. I get that same almost numbing feel (toe shock?) from the endorphin elite but it pushes me forward so aggressively I live with it
They say that if you laugh 😆. You get 5 more seconds of life 🤷🏻♂️. Whatever that means. You know I’m only here for the jokes 🙈😆🤣😆. Just kidding. Great video Andrew 🤏🏼
Got PR my half using fast r2 but got calf cramps last 2km not able to have strong finish. I think dne3 is for marathon and high cadence runner. Fr2 more on strider like kofuzi said
I think you Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 would have served you better than this in the marathon. Much lighter and have the same super foam and more forefoot cushion.
You are over thinking this - it's not that complex, it's occam's razor, you wore the wrong shoe for you, and stirring up Bowerman on the eve of your race dissing his shoe? 6:51 was achievable for you in almost any standard cushion shoe, you don't need carbon or even a racing shoe, you're too good based on that 6:37 Half 11 months ago. The best shoe on race day for non-elites is going to be the least fatiguing & stressful for your mechanics/bmi, etc, and that's probably not carbon.

I am Puma Fast R V2. Definitely amazing. Don't loose the Shark Fin. It adds aerodynamic to the shoe 🎉🎉🎉

I love the Cielo X1 - one of my all time favorite shoes (race or otherwise) for sure. Ran the MCM in them for a PR of 3:05.

I used to have a name tag at work that said Boss because I’m a fan of irony. And the name boss
Fetchez la vache, cuz this serious-runner DGAF about specs! Specs?? We don’t need no stinking specs!!!! Carving his own path….here for it all day!
What kind of shoe reviewers gives the specs of the shoe? Amateur

Yes it’s a good fit , although it’s very tight. I can’t wait to run in it more when I’m healthy again 💪🏼

Interesting! Congrats on the Pr. I will have to try the puma deviate nitro elite v3
@MidLifeRunner i tell you. You will love it.
Good Stuff
🙏🏼
i have enough bs going on with my toes in any shoe during a marathon to take a chance with that extra lip.
That’s fair
Did you trial an 18-20 mile long run in this shoe prior to the race paisan? Sorry if this was stated in the video.
It wasn’t . I took a gamble on them
But they just were too propulsive not to try. 😂
@ 🤣 win some, lose some

LMFAO

I for one welcome more sitting down. It is the whole reason I click on running videos.
You should start standing up in each shot now
Too ugly to me!
Certainly not pretty
