Hats off to you for getting stuck in straight away, I've just rebuilt a new (to me) Penta Md11c which was actually in remarkably good condition, but thought what the heck, as it was out of the boat. The MD2B it replaces, which spun a con rod shell, looked similar to yours in terms of general nasty deposits. Can totally recommend Repower Marine, very helpful staff! Jon👍
Thanks Jon,yes i got my HG set from them guys, great little engines the non start is a baffler bu hey ho, off with the head! Always great for peace of mind once you have it off!!👍
You may have to get a grinder or reamer in their on a drill or flexi drive to clear out the exaust port. That sort of crud builds up if the engines only been run short times and not got hot enough to burn it off.. Did you try some redex for Diesels.
Yeah just started and turned off rather than worked mate, i agree! Heads coming off, time is short but will see what i find and get this little beast back to her former glory!🤞🤞
I should be starting up my 82Hunter 27 today, and scheduled travel lift for tomorrow..Mine gains oil thru the season, and transmission slips so much I have a real hard time docking. Only need to go 2 nautical miles to my slip. Then the removal begins of the 1GM
@@SailingFoxyLady yes I believe that is the problem, she fired right up on the third try, then I shut down,,good enough for now,, good luck on your project too
HI! Amazing but I have the same engine with the same boat I think (mine is westerly a centaur) and having the same issue. I have also tried many things you have done. I'm in Cleveland Ohio USA...ill let you know if I have any luck.
Thanks Chris, im going to pull the entire low pressure system when i get time. I can only think air is getting in somehow but doesn't bubble when i bleed!!😱so frustrating!! I'll share when i find out issue mate
@@SailingFoxyLady That's makes sense...my 1GM10 does start but takes about 2 mins of trying when cold and runs a bit rough at higher rpms (misses with white smoke). I replaced the rings, starter, battery, injectors, reseated the valves, checked the valve timing (0.2mm) and bleed it several times. I'm checking the compression today. I may need to check my settings (shims) on the injectors and fuel pump. One thing you can try is install the injectors upside-down and see you get a good spray at TDC - that may tell you that you have fuel going in to the cylinder at the correct time i think? th-cam.com/video/HSBeCz0OIIE/w-d-xo.html
@@chrisvild1263 that was the first thing i done mate, spray looked good and has 400psi compression. In theory should fire and run sweet but nope!!!🤷♂️
Hi Chris, also in Cleveland. Working on starting my1GM10 but early in the process of elimination. Currently on the hard but inside and I've run a water house to feed the raw water.
