      Perception is everything, I remember saving up for my first LV and some coworkers automatically thought it was fake because I was a young black girl. At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in *preluxscom* . If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermès, no one will question you.

    Thanks for this video! I am considering purchasing my first bag with TRR and there's not a whole lot of videos from the buyer's perspective, so I appreciate this. The item I want won't break the bank so I think I'm gonna risk it!

    This is why I usually just shop for clothes and shoes that aren't top notch like Chanel/Gucci/LV on TRR. I'll shop vintage stuff though as most counterfeits are newer lines. I've had to return something though as the condition it was in was worse than listed and boy oh boy. Their call center is in India (because labor is cheaper there) and I think the texting customer service option links you to the same employees because they speak in broken English and repeat the same questions after I've answered them :') a whole mess

    I was researching the Tory Burch McGraw Dragonfly online and did find fakes of it. My jaw dropped because to me it was “only a $500 bag”. Not something I would think is worth the effort of faking. It’s crazy what’s out there. Even Coach is faked.
    Glad you got your money back eventually. Shame on them for reposting it. I’ll never buy from them.

    • @kayviana

      Yea I always thought that unless a bag was thousands then it wouldn’t be worth it, must be super cheap for them to make nowadays. I can’t believe coach is faked. Gotta just stick to buying first hand as much as possible for handbags sadly.

      I won’t be shopping at the Real Real. For the purpose of a public video I cannot completely bash them when this is an issue of all resell sites and stores. I am just trying to ensure that people make their own decisions based on that knowledge. My apologies if this has offended you.

    Vestiaire Collective is the same. It’s hit or miss. I bought a bag which had obviously passed their first phase authenticity process because it was for sale. I went to sell it myself and Vestiaire bounced it and hence I realised via them it was counterfeit.

      @kayviana  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bryan7938 Yea I’ve given up on the online resale market for luxury. Also brands don’t hold as much value today. If something second hand is found in person I may get it, but there’s too much risk for such little reward.

    Which Authenticator did you use to check your bag after you bought it?

    • @kayviana
      @kayviana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I often use authenticate first or real authentication if I need a fast online service. And then for in person I just go into the boutique and compare. Sales reps aren’t allowed to say a bag is fake, but they can tell you it’s not a “brand” bag, which means the same thing.

    With the real real I would suggest to only buy cheaper luxury items . I try to stick to the items that are on sale. there’s nothing on their website that assures authentication which worries me vs Vestiaire collection. I also try to stick to item that are vintage like Gucci items from 2002 vs 2020 or 2022. If an 2022 Gucci item is low balled I wouldn’t trust that it is real

      Yes. And I believe Chanel has sued them! Authentication is more of an art than a science. I think that’s where the loopholes of reselling come into play. I know a lot of businesses have issues in their first few years so I’m hoping they can fix it.

    • @kayviana
      @kayviana  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the time of this video I used real authentication or authenticate first if I needed something fast and a certificate. But I always recommend going into the boutique and comparing yourself. The reps can’t tell you if a bag is fake, but they can normally tell you if there’s something off. Hope that helps.

      @kayviana  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately even contemporary brands have fakes nowadays. A few days ago Tory Burch put double bags on sale! I'm hoping this becomes a common occurrence during sale season. Poshmark could still be a great place to find the real deal, but the extra effort may not be worth it.

  • @Lara-EL

    The real real did the same thing to me with a fake Chanel bag. I tried to sell to fashionphile months later and tenu told me it was fake. Fashionphile graciously sent it back from more free but the real real gave me a hard time. They e e risky allowed me to send it back after I sent the email from fashionphile but it took a long time to get my refund because they applied it as a credit and pretended that was the only way until I kept fighting and threatened to get an attorney involved and suddenly applied it my orignal form of payment. After all that, I noticed they put it back on the site. They really don’t care smh.

    • @kayviana
      @kayviana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It truly should not be this difficult since it seems like a recurring issue. I wish they had a very clear system for circumstances like this. Once it’s inauthentic and proven, they should take the bag back, dispose of it, ban the original seller from giving items to the site, and give a full refund to original payment. I understand they may loose money that way, so maybe setting a timeline for the customer to be able to prove inauthenticity would work out for them. They’re tarnishing their brand image. I think they have a lot of potential and I hope better management comes in.
