Because their company is run by fucking drones, who's only programming function is to make more money. Only problem is, they never programmed them with the ability to determine what a good product is vs. a bad one. Only more profit vs. less profit.

The decision to bring back MoH in this manner, a VR shooter with gargantuan disk space and very high GPU/CPU requirements was already a nail in the coffin. I secretly hoped this will be the great comeback but well. VR? 170GBs? GTX 2080 as recommended GPU? SSD recommended? It's a game for a very limited group of gamers
@@jackiemortes PC gaming in general is becoming a lot more widespread than it was say 10 or even 5 years ago, but I still feel like it's not going to reach the same market as console releases from the word go. Consoles are easier for people to get, cheaper, play mostly all the major games and that's without having to know anything about what specs make a good PC. That said, I myself have a pretty decent gaming PC and I still don't even meet the minimum GPU requirements for this. It's for a limited group of gamers within an already limited group of gamers. I can't imagine very many average people are going to have a setup that can run this. It is such a damn shame. Medal of Honor was a great series, the trailers for this looked pretty good, I should have known from this being VR and from the minimum requirements that it probably wasn't going to do well regardless but if it's as bad as this video says then that's a serious disappointment and probably the death of the series. It already died once after Warfighter. Only hope is that the series can somehow survive a second Warfighter under as merciless a publisher as EA. It's definitely a longshot. Truth be told I don't necessarily know if there's that much of a place for Medal of Honor in 2020 between Battlefield, Call of Duty, and some of these other series coming back like Doom and Wolfenstein. I feel like most of the niches are filled. If anything, Call of Duty took MoH's niche way back in the early 2000's, now that niche (singleplayer WW2 FPS epic) doesn't hardly exist anymore to be taken back. And as for trying to do what modern CoDs or even Battlefields do, well, we see how that went in 2010 and 2012. It's not like there can only be one game per genre but I do feel like unless they put out a truly revolutionary game, MoH is really going to feel like it's just a third wheeling me too game that isn't necessary. I really don't know. I'd love to see this series come back guns blazing with good, solid WW2 singleplayer campaigns, maybe set it in little known, little covered parts of the war like the Fall of Europe in 1939-1940 or the Pacific - that's been done to an extent but there's a ton of uncovered ground, you know as far as I've researched I don't even think that there's been a singleplayer depiction of Iwo Jima in any high profile game as of yet and that's one of the most famous battles of the entire threater and the entire war. There's a lot of places to go with WW2, go there, build a solid game, only bother with VR if you can make the VR worth it. Then maybe we'll see MoH come back. It's unlikely, but I do hope to see it someday.
Tbh what could a revived Medal of Honor look like? WW2 was done to death, Modern military COD-clones were done to death, and now they're still getting sub-par reboots. VR may be the next game frontier, but it's too expensive for anybody but a small niche of gamers. This feels like a more of a one-off thing, more of a tech demo than anything else, like Quake II RTX. And anyway, not every single thing has to spawn an endless series of similar sequels/reboots. I miss the time when a new game came out, maybe it had 1 or 2 sequels that improved upon a solid foundation, then ended once or before they became stale.
@@UnchainedEruption if I was in charge I'd go back to the design of games like Underground and Frontline, where you had multiple objectives in a level and were scored on your playthrough, something more arcade like to make it stand out.. but EA won't let them do something like that

If a series stops doing something new and interesting; if it simply stagnates, then it is time to retire it. Battlefield and CoD are perfect examples of series that should have ended almost a decade ago now, yet persist unfortunately on brand name and marketing alone. Pretty much every style of gameplay and shooter, and every major front of WW2 has been done in that setting. As much as I love the M1 Garand and Thompson, I think we need military shooters that explore other conflicts. There are only a handful of Vietnam shooters, and even fewer that were good. To my knowledge, there isn't a single military shooter set during the Korean War. World War I has also not been done justice: BF1 was a reskinned modern military shooter with machine guns and arcadey flamethrower pickups that fails to immerse, and Verdun is just an okay indie game at best.

I remember when Allied Assault came out I was part of a clan where we did bolt action rifles only. We had a fun server and it was a genuinely good time. That was around 2000-2002 from what I recall and that was the last time I enjoyed MOH.
What?! But I wanted a Pacific Assault Sequel that takes place in Saipan, Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa for Conlin's Story. Can't E.A. make a good Single Player Games since 1999 like last time?
Weird, we seem to have come full circle in regards to the Medal of Honor series. Respawn used to be 2015, which made Allied Assault for the PC. Then most of them left and became Infinity Ward and made Call of Duty which was directly competing with MoH, a good chunk of Infinity Ward left to form Respawn, and now Respawn is working on the Medal of Honor franchise again. I feel like EA thought "these VR players are begging for AAA VR games, they'll take any buggy shlock we put in front of them as long as it's in VR." Sadly for EA VR players don't want garbage, they want a quality experience and polish.

@@lukel980 It seems like you enjoyed Titanfall 2 (and rightfully so the game is dope) and expected it to be similar because it’s on the same engine. Imo apex is the best BR game out there and it’s FOP so you can’t really complain. Most legends are fun to play and they constantly try to keep it fresh by changing maps and adding game modes.
Console VR is a gimmick and will remain like that until our consoles are pretty top notch so maybe when the upgraded series x launches we’ll see true VR.
Just noticed that the Luger pistol in this game isn't even animated properly. At 7:45 it is visible how the mag is still in the gun while you're putting the new one in and also the slide gets locked back and stays in the forward position at the same time. Great game design

As someone who has been into vr since the start of the year, this was a game I was really looking forward to. A proper ww2 vr game made by Respawn of all developers sounds awesome. However watching this review...I think I'll hold off on it. Btw, since you're getting into vr games, you interested in checking out Into the Radius? I've heard you mention the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series a few times in other videos so I figured it might be a game you would be into. It's not AAA, but the devs have been great at listening to feedback.
No no no. What I really mean is can you do mid-clip reload any guns with magazine like Thompson, MP 40 and STG 44 without pulling the Actuator, or Bolt or known as Charging Handle.
VR gaming (and gaming in general, tbh) is very much in my peripheral vision these days but I'm still blown away by how the advertising for this game just reminded me of, like, a Wii tech demo from 2006. Catching grenades and climbing ladders, whoa holy shit!

Damn, that sucks. I'm playing Medal of Honor: European Assault on the PS2 right now, a much older, nearly forgotten title... and it's far better than what was presented here.
Honestly I've never been a big fan of the medal of Honor series after playing Warfighter...it was a disappointment before, it's a disappointment now as well...
Medal of honor was only good in the early 2000s, once call of duty 4 came out they tried too hard to compete with it, then battlefield 3 came out and they tried too hard to compete with it too. Now this VR mess
I'd say the last good medal of honor was airborne, because they atleast tried to innovate on the usual ww2 game play by having your character be able to parachute anywhere on the map in the campaign
That is one of the dumbest set up for tutorial I've ever seen. Like, can't they set up the tutorial to be actually on the field during battle so the game teaching you basics like shooting, getting hurt and heal, etc is actually make sense? But nope, gotta break immersion by actually slamming your palm to a fucking rusty nails.
What really sucks is I bought it and was so hyped then found multiple glitches like on the airship where I could move and shoot making it to where it was luck based it I shot a planer or not. The even worst part is there is 3 stages of this so I would have to be really lucky to go on to the next lvl.
As I have heard is that this game wasn't supposed to be a VR game in the first place! But EA forced respawn to scrap the basic single player game and engine, and remake it into VR just so EA can cash into the VR market
This is upsetting. When I first saw the trailer, I was blown away and couldn't wait to try it. I bought an Oculus Rift S for Half-Life Alyx but my PC can barely run it and I didn't want to upgrade for a single game, so seeing this title as well was pushing me towards doing so in order enjoy these kinds of experiences properly. After this, I now no longer have a desire to do so. What a shame.
In their defense, you can change the scope to work on the weapon instead of a pop up in the settings. I remember seeing the scope pop up and first thing I did after i was done being disgusted was check the settings for it.
In Pavlov I have only one problem I am left Eye dominant but right hand dominant so Usually in match’s I have to switch my hands to help problem I wish there was setting to tell your eye dominancy
The reason why people said this needs 300 + GB is that Steam requires you to have roughly 2x the space for the game to load. It´s similar to a packed Winrar file, you have the file one time and then you have to unpack it leaving the files in the folder, you have 2x the files you need to install. Steam does this with all the games , it actually requrires you to have space for 2x the space the game later actually needs because when it installs from certain files it´s actually writing the files to the harddrive from these files and steam later just deletes those files.
The movement in half life alyx is so fluid I have to think it was mocapped in, which also makes me wonder if mocap animation will be the key to more realistic vr, assuming it doesnt take too much storage

RTX 3090 and i9 990k Performance is unacceptable I need to set my Index to 80 or 90hz to for steady framerate. Then after an hour of playing it kept crashing.
Finally someone who had the same views I had. I was so so excited for a VR WW2 AAA game but when I played it I was dissapointed. ( I did play and beat the game on a 2070 and I didn't see any studdering though I did turn down some res settings.)
Well I'm sad about this. This and Half Life Alyx were games that made me genuinely excited to get a VR headset one day. This game needed a major delay clearly. Hopefully it'll get alot of patches and eventually be good though because I'd love to relive my childhood medal of honor memories in VR
When i booted the game up, grabbed a cup of coffee in game and tried to smack it against the table... It just went trough. I immediately knew this wasnt gonna be the “next triple A vr game” people were talking about... such a shame.

To add some info to the minimum specs debacle. The reviewers guide listed the The recommended specs you mentioned, they also said systems with lower level components could still run the game albet at reduced qualities. The seeming lowest minimum that I can gather is an i5-8400 (or equilivent), 16GB ram, and GTX 1060 6GB (or equilivent). The disappointing factor for me is that the game listed The recommended and minimum specs as the same thing. @@lukel980 It seems like you enjoyed Titanfall 2 (and rightfully so the game is dope) and expected it to be similar because it’s on the same engine. Imo apex is the best BR game out there and it’s FOP so you can’t really complain. Most legends are fun to play and they constantly try to keep it fresh by changing maps and adding game modes.

Just noticed that the Luger pistol in this game isn't even animated properly. At 7:45 it is visible how the mag is still in the gun while you're putting the new one in and also the slide gets locked back and stays in the forward position at the same time. Great game design

As someone who has been into vr since the start of the year, this was a game I was really looking forward to. A proper ww2 vr game made by Respawn of all developers sounds awesome. However watching this review...I think I'll hold off on it.
Btw, since you're getting into vr games, you interested in checking out Into the Radius? I've heard you mention the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series a few times in other videos so I figured it might be a game you would be into. It's not AAA, but the devs have been great at listening to feedback.

No no no. What I really mean is can you do mid-clip reload any guns with magazine like Thompson, MP 40 and STG 44 without pulling the Actuator, or Bolt or known as Charging Handle.

It has absolutely nothing to do with it "not being the same." Both of these are AAA games yet Medal of honor has awful production value and was years outdated on launch while Alyx is the entry point to every one playing VR.

Damn, that sucks. I'm playing Medal of Honor: European Assault on the PS2 right now, a much older, nearly forgotten title... and it's far better than what was presented here.
Honestly I've never been a big fan of the medal of Honor series after playing Warfighter...it was a disappointment before, it's a disappointment now as well...

Medal of honor was only good in the early 2000s, once call of duty 4 came out they tried too hard to compete with it, then battlefield 3 came out and they tried too hard to compete with it too. Now this VR mess
I'd say the last good medal of honor was airborne, because they atleast tried to innovate on the usual ww2 game play by having your character be able to parachute anywhere on the map in the campaign

That is one of the dumbest set up for tutorial I've ever seen. Like, can't they set up the tutorial to be actually on the field during battle so the game teaching you basics like shooting, getting hurt and heal, etc is actually make sense? But nope, gotta break immersion by actually slamming your palm to a fucking rusty nails.
The NPC faces are clearly symbolic of them having shellshock and being traumatized by war.
The music in the background is from Legendary: The box. Quite an awesome game Tbh
What really sucks is I bought it and was so hyped then found multiple glitches like on the airship where I could move and shoot making it to where it was luck based it I shot a planer or not. The even worst part is there is 3 stages of this so I would have to be really lucky to go on to the next lvl.
As I have heard is that this game wasn't supposed to be a VR game in the first place! But EA forced respawn to scrap the basic single player game and engine, and remake it into VR just so EA can cash into the VR market
The framerrate in MoH looks awful. Alyx and the other game look so much smoother.
This is upsetting. When I first saw the trailer, I was blown away and couldn't wait to try it. I bought an Oculus Rift S for Half-Life Alyx but my PC can barely run it and I didn't want to upgrade for a single game, so seeing this title as well was pushing me towards doing so in order enjoy these kinds of experiences properly. After this, I now no longer have a desire to do so. What a shame.
Also, that one moment when Medal of Honor is repeating history.... (Like, even way back in 1999 it's inferior already compared to Half-Life 1)...

In their defense, you can change the scope to work on the weapon instead of a pop up in the settings. I remember seeing the scope pop up and first thing I did after i was done being disgusted was check the settings for it.

In Pavlov I have only one problem I am left Eye dominant but right hand dominant so Usually in match’s I have to switch my hands to help problem I wish there was setting to tell your eye dominancy
The reason why people said this needs 300 + GB is that Steam requires you to have roughly 2x the space for the game to load. It´s similar to a packed Winrar file, you have the file one time and then you have to unpack it leaving the files in the folder, you have 2x the files you need to install. Steam does this with all the games , it actually requrires you to have space for 2x the space the game later actually needs because when it installs from certain files it´s actually writing the files to the harddrive from these files and steam later just deletes those files.
I only had 200gbs free and could install the game fine.

The movement in half life alyx is so fluid I have to think it was mocapped in, which also makes me wonder if mocap animation will be the key to more realistic vr, assuming it doesnt take too much storage

I need to set my Index to 80 or 90hz to for steady framerate.
Then after an hour of playing it kept crashing.

Finally someone who had the same views I had. I was so so excited for a VR WW2 AAA game but when I played it I was dissapointed. ( I did play and beat the game on a 2070 and I didn't see any studdering though I did turn down some res settings.)
It amazes me how the Kar98 in the older MOH games manages to be more realistic that the Kar98 in the VR MOH GAME.

Well I'm sad about this. This and Half Life Alyx were games that made me genuinely excited to get a VR headset one day. This game needed a major delay clearly. Hopefully it'll get alot of patches and eventually be good though because I'd love to relive my childhood medal of honor memories in VR

To add some info to the minimum specs debacle. The reviewers guide listed the The recommended specs you mentioned, they also said systems with lower level components could still run the game albet at reduced qualities. The seeming lowest minimum that I can gather is an i5-8400 (or equilivent), 16GB ram, and GTX 1060 6GB (or equilivent).
The disappointing factor for me is that the game listed The recommended and minimum specs as the same thing.
Also another point of note. respawn has already said that they are committing to issuing patches to help fix some of the larger glaring issues. initial details of the first patch were posted on the Oculus subreddit.
