@@popanda3707 Sadly I never had the opportunity to play Black but it definitely reminds me of Battlefield Bad Company a bit.
Fun fact: The original Bodycount game actually was a game from the 1990s and was pretty much a Doom clone. So... technically you'd probably (ironically) see a kid in the 1990s playing it.
My dad still has his original copy of Black, omg that game was so fun to play, but I never played the “sequel”

BLACK was always about the joy of firing guns, filling people full of bullet holes, blowing things up, and completely destroying the environment. However, it did everything in a relatively plausibly realistic manner, as opposed to the blatant fantasy world of "Bodycount."

I remember reading about Bodycount as a "spiritual sequel" to Black online, I absolutely love Black with all my heart, and I'm not going to lie, I did get a little excited about Bodycount. Remember to this day as one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had lol.

I remember seeing a trailer for this where one of the devs said it's a game you play to take your mind off an argument with your girlfriend, or something like that. not a great marketing move.

man i remember having my stereo hooked up to my ps2 and freaking out my neighbors with Black. those sound effects were so damn crisp and solid!
Fun Fact: The MP5 gun sounds are the same sounds used in Die Hard.
This game is seriously lacking in the Ice-T department, I feel like it's false advertising.

I liked the way it held information from you.
Nothing from the story, no interactions with other characters minus the murder.
You get nothing because you are nothing. And the cherry on top was "ASSET EXPIRED" on death.
Levels and enemies got old quick though

I'd love a Medal of Honor: European Assault from the ps2 analysis. I played it a lot as a kid and found it very amusing. Local multiplayer and an awesome story mode. I'd like to know from you if it was that good or is just nostalgia
This game is also playable on PS3 emulator.
M16 in black had a grenade launcher. I remember loving the game when it gave you that weapon once you got silver weapons unlocked for that sweet, sweet unlimited ammo.
Man, Black needs a remaster or a remake. At least a PC release would be nice.
It does run in 4k at 60fps via backwards compatibility on Xbox One X and Series X.
I think Black was great as it was so I think a remake would be a bad choice as the pacing and design are as good as they are, it needs PC remaster.
Mouse aiming, 60 FPS and higher quality textures and models but keeping the style, sounds and explotions galore would be enough for me.
The crosshair being at the bottom of the screen like that is making my neck hurt....I feel like I should be craning my neck
I know right? This crosshair placement is so jarring. I don't understand why devs thought it was a good idea. It's painful just to look at.
Funfact on Black: Like in many games of this time (Bf 1942, Vietnam). The geometry of the ak47 is inverted. Otherwise you wouldn't see ejecting sheels nor the reload animation. So it's just for visual purpose but very cool and we'll thought
Black was so good at everything i couldn't find a game with its style as you said it was Gun P0rn the way your character pulls the slide of his pistols ex Glock made me love pistols so much

I remember playing a demo of it. Having some outlets reference this as a “spiritual successor to Black” felt like someone just shot my dog! I never bothered with the full game and glad I didn’t.

I've been binging this man's videos and it's sad it's almost over. For now.
There were a lot of shooters in 2011 and you’ve covered most of them. All we need now is a review on Brink, OF: Red River, Duke Nukem forever and it’s dlc the doctor who cloned me.

A bit late to the party, but yeah, It FRUSTRATES me only by looking at it. The moment I saw it in the video I paused, and went to the comments looking for this.
I played and finished Bodycount and remember being frustrated by it but I didn't remember just how messy and cluttered the visuals are. It's not deliberately directed chaos, it's just a mess.
We just not gonna talk about how their slogan for The Network is straight up "modern problems require modern solutions" ? They had to have done that on purpose, right ?

I remember playing this at my boy Trysten's house all the time and thinking it was pretty fun ngl. Only thing I didn't understand is why there was no ads but at the time the main fps games I played were some call of duty games and battlefield 3 so I came to expect ADS. Might have to play it again sometime to see how much my tastes have changed

I remember watching the trailer of bodycount when those high tech target guys arrive and heavy gunner local soldier goes in to check what's up and Target guy shoots him dead at first i thought it's like killzone war between two factions but no we play as some random generic guy who happens to be a mercenary working for network and fight against both factions from trailer and we can't even pick up heavy gun after killing heavy gunner

I somehow actually remember playing a trial/demo or something for this game and it was just terrible, that African village really stuck out to me, it brought me right back.

Another interesting FPS to look at for the 360/PS3 days is Clive Barker's Jericho.
To fix the aiming I installed a trigger with a trigger stop. But couldn't use it for other games. Now I use the elite controller with a converter.

i had bodycount around when i bought mass effect 3 in 2013 i liked bodycount after about 2 weeks playing i really started getting into it then my gf lost the disc and i started playing me3

Fun Bodycount facts! This game only exists because Codemasters wanted a COD competitor. Very early in development, the game was originally going to be about cops and policing, which would’ve been very interesting as it would’ve beat Battlefield Hardline to market by a few years

From the previews, I kinda thought that Bodycount was some form of arcade styled cod single player shooter.
Mixed with:
Bulletstorm UI
Black inspiration
Battlefield destructive visuals
F.E.A.R. AI
There is a story to Bodycount, but it's rather vague so you have to read between the lines to notice it. It's implied that your Mission Control that gives you orders throughout the game is in fact a member of the Target, who decided to stop committing bad deeds and turns good, to bring down the organization. The Network doesn't exist, having been destroyed by the Target before the events of the game. Your character is an Unwitting Pawn who was hired by Mission Control under the pretenses of joining "the Network", without realizing that it's just the two of them acting alone.
The ending implies that the operative takes up the mantle of the Network, and continues the fight against the Target.
.......................and that's it...............*shrugs shoulders*

Ok I have to ask but I doubt this will happen, could we be seeing mechassault 1 and 2 reviewed by Jarek? Again I'm not gonna have high hopes of it actually happening because these two games were I believe (please do correct me if I'm wrong) exclusive to the original Xbox so these games are very old but a lot of people have such fond memorizes of them myself included even though I only played a demo of mechassault 1 but it was a fun demo never the less.
Could you cover conflict denials ops and the old rainbow six 3 and lock down and ghost recon games .

I remember renting this and being very meh about it. I feel like a game that really wants to rely on John Woo style “bullets destroy everything in the scene” particle effects should probably be on PC.

Rpcs3 has come crazy far in just a few years, you can probably emulate quite a lot of PS3 games you are interested in.

From word go, its that crosshair placement, games that do that, instantly kill any interest i have in them.
I remember when the demo came out, I played 5 minutes and had to go grab a friend to make him play it as well to make sure I wasn't crazy because of how godawful it played and he confirmed it was indeed terrible.
And then 10 years later the same thing happened with the Balan Wonderworld demo.
I'm scared what 2031 has in store for me.
