My daughter went low to no contact with me and I bulldozed through all her boundaries without hearing what she was saying. She had been telling me for decades that I didn’t make her feel safe, heard or valued. I treated her like a prize instead of a daughter. I showed her off despite knowing she was introverted. I dismissed and ignored her feelings over and over again. I put her in situations where she wasn’t safe and belittled her when she expressed her feelings. There’s no excuse for any of my behaviors. I was educated and should have been listening. I worked with “at-risk” kids and continued to tell her that her suffering wasn’t that bad. I’m profoundly ashamed of how my direct actions and apathy made her suffer.
Firstly- Aquired brain injuries are awful. They can cause severe emotional and psychological issues that are very hard to manage. All that to say I do not think any of that is happening here. This lady is sooo fricking full of it. Trying to say she's acting wild because she has ptsd from her daughter in law setting a boundary. As f#%%ing if, lady.❤❤❤ Great video! I subbed!! I like your voice and your demeanor.
@@screaminmeani hey thank you for the kind words. Yeah this lady is absolutely nuts and it's not the brain injury. She's been a mess her entire life and her walmart-brand therapist is only feeding her delusions. Thanks for watching!
@ITZ_eSPy I'm so happy to see a Black future therapist making videos!! More content!! Have you decided an area of special interest or type of therapy you are drawn to? So exciting.
@ITZ_eSPy oooh having worked with offenders I think that's very cool. Such a need for assessments with undiagnosed dual diagnosis offenders- ie mental health issues+ addiction+ trauma+ some abi's +lots of FASD or other cognitive delay conditions. I have a theory that incarcerated folks should have brain retraining with biofeedback to learn to emotionally regulate.
@@screaminmeani i can't remember the exact number but it was like over 70% of incarcerated people have some sort of unmanaged mental health issue. When those issues go unmanaged, it's easier for them to reoffend. I want to help stop that :D
I notice that it is a bad sign when people start off with "I just tell it like it is" or "I am going to speak my mind". Means they know they probably shouldn't be saying what follows...means they don't respect the boundaries of the listener... I am a low contact semi estranged parent who is watching these kind of videos for what not to do
Grandparent's rights do exist, but it more has to do with once you have an established relationship. If a husband and wife divorce and the wife gets sole custody, but the husbands parents had a relationship, they have the right to see their grandchild, regardless of the fathers actions.
Lmao blaming her behaviour on a supposed concussion, she’s not Antonio Brown with CTE lol. My mom does the exact same thing now with Covid-19, behaviours and traits she’s had for decades is now conveniently long covid.
Unpopular opinion maybe, but I know that people whose marriages have broken up in a "dirty" way (cheating, scamming, etc) sometimes use their children as an emotional crutch or let their frustrations out on their kids (especially if the kids want a relationship with the "dirty" spouse). I'm not sure I can diagnose her as a narcissist though she sounds lik eit, but she has severe mental illness that needs to be addressed. People with depression and other mental health issues use manipulation like she is to gain sympathy. Her children had to set boundaries because they cannot be her emotional crutch and they cannot give her the attention she needs because they have their own families. She needs to stop this drama and focus on getting a proper therapist and healing right away.
Very insightful. Thank you for your comment. I agree, there probably is something on the side of narcissistic personality disorder. But for some of the reasons I mentioned in the video, I would say there's some narcissism in there. Some of them being her inability to take accountability, her manipulative strategies, even her projections, I feel npd is in there. Along with maybe some traumatic stuff that lead her to be this way. She is working with a therapist. A bad one. But at least she knows she needs it. Maybe she can find a new therapist that will lead her to making actual changes that are beneficial to herself and her family. But I've heard some things. I don't think that's happening
