It's astounding that such high quality material should be available publicly and free of charge, and not only that, it was made by a single person on the side? I'm very impressed, thank you for your work.
I have been serching everywere to be able to get a better understanding of what the nasal passage looks like and how the air flows and by far this is the most intuitive and helpful. Thank You!!!
The "drunken crowd surfer" footage/explanation in this extremely informative professional presentation was very unexpected....which made it hilariously welcome!!
That's what I call a high quality learning material. Just keep up the good work! I'm sure you'll be popular, at least among medical students, with such interesting 3D approach.
This was the first time I could interpret and analyse and put all these parts and understand how they work !!! ...... Such a awesome animation and lecture!!! A splendid one.. Thank uu
Wow, I had sinoplasty, in 2010, in Thailand, this doctor was incredible, and he really did more than he had to, cut and shaped bone, fixed the septum and opened the airways. It was worse than I thought, hard recovery, but he was really good. He is revered in that area, I think he is a trauma surgeon.
I am at 3:20 , subscribed! I have stopped the video in between to comment and thank this channel. It's a blessing for medicos like us. This made me understand the complete nasal anatomy like never before❤ I am so thankful. God bless from India! ❤🙏
Lowly filmmaker interested in the olfactory sense passing through. Had no idea how complex our nose and inner face structures were. Thank you for making this video.
Phenomenal video, not a MD student, just an individual with extensive pansinusitis with a severe case of frontal and ethmoid mucosal disease. Learning more about the drainage routes and sinuses in general. Amazing video, subscribed!
Very nicely explained nostril anatomy not only for medicos and acommon person could form an idea of their problems provided they may like medical knowledge .
My daughter suffered from chronic sinus infections for the first four years of life and had to have her adnoiss removed and tubes placed in, she uvulitis at the age of one and I thought I would loose my baby, she also could not hear and did not begin to speak until late, fast forward and once she began school she would say her head was cloudy and sometimes her thought would not flow and she loss her sense of smell, but she is so gifted in drawing and very wise yet there are some things she does have a hard time processing. I realized most people in our family who had consistent nose bleeds or sinus problems also suffered learning disabilities.
Thank you for this video, I may have to watch again. I also have much hearing loss and needed to see an Otolaryngologist and probably will end up with an implant.
The vast majority is swallowed all day every day. Only small amounts dry up and stick in the front and only occasionally benefit from being removed manually. But yes, manually cleaning is a thing, but doesn’t account for much.
After covid infection in 2020, i have a mucus that i havent got before.this mucus is white , sometimes clear or colored and above all very sticky, difficult to evacuate. I have to sniff it and take it out through my mouth, never through my nose. It must certainly come from the nasopharynx. I haven't found any remedies to get rid of it.
Any infection in your nasal cavity and nasopharynx is also going to naturally contaminate your throat anyway. The mucus flow sends things that way so while a swab might push some type of infection from one place to another, it’s a moot point because the infection is going to get there anyway.
Is it alright to notice the swolling of one side of the nose during nasal cycle or it sould be unnoticed? I am alergic so I kinda don't know how healthy breating should feel like so I'm wondering what people with no issues feel.
It is common to “notice” the difference that the nasal cycle creates between the two sides but it should not present a problem or be completely obstructed when everything is working correctly.
I stil don't get the problem with the sinusitis. As there is a direct way from nose to pharynx (you can still put the nasogastral tube in when you have sinusitis, right?) why can't the air take this way? Why aren't we able to breath trough the nose while the sinus mucosa is swollen
Can a concha bullosa block the ostiomeatal complex ? I’ve had many surgery including inferior turbinate reduction which I do breath a lot better than before, but sinus inflammation is a still a large for me. I had CT scans done where it was discovered I have a bilateral concha bullosa of the middle turbinates and no frontal sinuses
Sinus are so complex, just wish mine worked normally. Sadly people like me and millions of others suffer with chronic congestion with no help. Sprays and pills are worthless for most of us, leaving surgery which is a crap shoot since some suffer more after while others get cured. Sure wish there was more research into sinus problems to offer hope for those suffering. We just want to breathe and should not face ENS from surgery. Cheers for great video.
Why one side of my nose get super tight then released the pressure then the other side get tight and other opend that happend many times a day make me feel i can breath
Same thing here in my nose..if one part open, the other is close most of the time...but when i go outside jogging,, both of the part are remain open... Im sure its the mucus thing but cant calculate this math... And this feeling most of indoor situation is super uncomfortable
I had a huge life change (moved new practice) and some family issues, but I am very close to uploading the most complicated chapter, Sinus Problems and Solutions. It shows the usual course of events that cause sinusitis and a simple example of how to address it surgically, septoplasty, turbinate reduction and nasal packing and polyps. Thanks for your interest, Im not nearly throught. After that Im doing more technical videos for sinus surgeons and anatomy classes with a lot of stereoscopic photography of cadaveric dissections, merged into the 3D models.
The nasal swell, a region of the septum that has long been appreciated by those of us whodo sinus and nasal surgery, but only recently has it come into focus and been named. I have been addressing the nasal swell by running the Coblator device under the structure of mucous membrane for decades, and I actually only heard the term nasal swell, about five years ago. In summary, it is an area of the nasal septum that has mucous membrane and occupies that location, roughly above inferior turbinate in the anterior portion of the septum.
So when I feel like one side of my nose is shut and I can get any air through what part exactly is it ? I went to an ENT and he just said to take Claritin and seemed to not know what to do.
The subtitles (closed caption - CC) are set to be off by default, you may have turned them on inadvertently I dont know. You can toggle them off by clicking the CC button on the bottom or watch on my website that has different controls... petercasano.com thanks for the comment.
Many possible reasons why things change. New onset of allergies. New exposure to allergens. A low grade infection. If it developed slowly as you age… vasomotor rhinitis.
I thought something like this would never come in our lifetime…It’s so F*****G hot to explore the skull of the teacher with this much detail…and those cross sections with the eyes and nasal cavity…?! I see you. 💀🤤

Very good. Great explanation and visuals. Thanks.
I’m so grateful this is free, here a year later, I totally would support this work with compensation too

This is the best video I have seen on the nasal cavity, its anatomy, and its functions. Thank you!
Absolutely phenomenal work sir. The best and clearest visualization I've come across on youtube ever.
That's what I call a high quality learning material. Just keep up the good work! I'm sure you'll be popular, at least among medical students, with such interesting 3D approach.
As a neophyte learner of nasal anatomy and physiology, this is an excellent visualization resource.

A great example of why TH-cam is so much better than regular tv!

Thank you for such a well explained video on the nasal anatomy. I am in awe at how meticulously the human facial palate is formed.

This is the best video for nasal cavity anatomy. Clear and straight to the point.
this is by far the best anatomy video i have ever seen, great job… just amazing
Ultimate, great , salute to team❤
Its been 25 years since I graduated in medicine, had a change of specialty 2 years back....I am finally getting it after quarter of a century.

I can bet Nobody in world can make such 3d anat models as precise and accurate as this ones
The best PNS anatomy I ever watch. Thank you soooooo much
Thank you for great explanation of nasal anatomy and functions!
Nasal anatomy: there's no room for anything but air in here
Nasal polyps: let me move in there and grow
Greatest content. Createst visualisation. This video must be the standard for student learning
This is an amazing illustration. Thank you.. Спасибо ! Очень хорошее объяснение ..

I'm curious to know about it , this video really helped me, great video.👍🏻👌
This is incredibly well done.

Best sinus video yet! And I've been looking for a while! :-)
If the nose traps bacteria and dust why must we have to pick it to remove the dried mucous? Should the body do something naturally to remove it?
The vast majority is swallowed all day every day. Only small amounts dry up and stick in the front and only occasionally benefit from being removed manually. But yes, manually cleaning is a thing, but doesn’t account for much.
Lot of thanks for this precious knowledge
And people still dare to claim that all this can simply be created from nothing without a higher supreme designer. Subhan allah.
fantastic sir fantastic i cant say how much i appreciate this please continue
Peter, what can cause removal of sense of smell?
thanks for explaining a complex anatomy and nomenclature, and how they all function together.

As stated before. Can’t believe I’m getting this for free. If I was still I the biz I would turn it in for CE’s.

Gran trabajo ,,,,, felicitaciones .
Doesn't a swab test push any infections onto the back of the throat??
Any infection in your nasal cavity and nasopharynx is also going to naturally contaminate your throat anyway. The mucus flow sends things that way so while a swab might push some type of infection from one place to another, it’s a moot point because the infection is going to get there anyway.
Not even a single video in whole TH-cam can match this topic presented by u....just fantastic (👃🐽)
That’s quite a compliment. Thanks for watching.
8:30 ethmoid, sphenoid, frontal drainage
If youv had sinus fungus removal surgery the drainage will be totally different how do u recostruct the correct drainage

Cracked up at the drunken crowd example, well done!

it's such a powerful video
Wow. RRT student here.
Can you make more videos about the lower airways, bronchial tree, and alveoli? Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing! Now I understand why COVID-PCR probe is extremely uncomfortable.

I love the "drunken" crowd surfer reference.
Amazing video cheers
I'm interested in "nasal swell" but i cant get more information on the internet. Could you elaborate on that?

Same with me i have DNS and allergic rehinitis...take anti allergic medicine if there is no mass tissue in the nose
Claritin is anti allergic...also use mask when go outside.
Your content is great but the subtitles makes difficult see the full structure clearly
