Thank you for this! If you try to find Lucy and Desi's house in Chatsworth, at the corner of Corbin and Devonshire Blvds., you should know that it no longer exists and the entire footprint was erased in 1976 to put in a housing development. A street called Tuba goes right through where their property used to be. A nearby house of 1940 vintage has been mistakenly identified over the years as Lucy and Desi's Valley home. Not true. The San Fernando Valley Blog has a treasure trove of vintage photos of Lucy, Desi, and the kids at home in their rambling ranch house in the 1940's and '50's. Their mailbox, driveway and front entrance were on Devonshire, with Corbin as the east border of their property. They were on the southwest corner. Today, this intersection is an ugly, barren corridor of street paving and cement block fences. in 1954, when they moved to BevHills, they sold their property to actress Jane Withers. Then, she sold it, and by the time of the 1976 sale and demolition, probably no one knew they were tearing down a beloved piece of Hollywood history. Also, there is a film on You Tube of Devonshire Blvd., taken from the back of a truck in about 1943, heading west. This was wide open country and citrus orchards as far as the eye could see back then. The narrator points out Lucy and Desi's house, sitting out in the middle of nowhere, shortly after it was built. Devonshire was a two-lane blacktop highway and Corbin was a dirt road! The Valley still looked a lot like this, but a little more built up, when I was growing up there in the 1950's.
There is a home movie of Desi and Lucy long after their divorce, birthday party for one of the grand kids, and they were both in the pool playing with Lucy Jr's young child, and they were laughing, and then they got the most poignant look on their faces, almost sad, as if in regret. It still will make me tear up. They were a great team, glad they shared their lives with us, and thank you Jordan for the awesome vlog.
Thanks for showing a picture of how the house looked when Lucy owned it. It doesn’t even look like the same house today, which is a shame. I can’t imagine buying Lucy’s house and completely changing it. I would have preserved as much as possible - inside and out. In any case, “I Love Lucy” was the greatest sitcom in history - even my kids enjoy it. Thank you, Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel for bringing us so much laughter. It’s sad that Desi was so cruel to Lucy - that’s the part of their history that’s painful to hear and a reminder that people are often very different in real life than the characters they portray on screen, but I cherish those shows as if they were my own home movies.
My husband's grandfather used to date Lucy way back when she was a teenager living in Celoron, New York. He went off to the Navy and she, at 17, went to NYC to start her career. They stayed in touch over the years and she had an off-camera character called "Vinnie" that was named after my husband's grandfather. She would go home to NY and have her photo taken with him. When she died, my husband's grandmother sent her daughter a lovely card with note. Lucie did the same when Grandpa died. There is a Lucy museum in Jamestown, NY for those Lucy fans out there.
BEAUTIFUL HOME!! I loved Lucy as well and what a lot of people forget, Lucy was a real beauty when she first started out and it was only later that she started "clowning" up her looks! She was gorgeous as a model! And with Desi who was also a real talent and was also gorgeous, the two of them were one big knock out looking couple! Yeah, he was the proverbial Latin lover! The two of them started Desilu Productions which also produced the original Star Trek hit show! One of the first real POWER COUPLES before they parted ways! Thanks for sharing~
Hi from Ohio Everyone this is so wonderful to see Lucy's & Desi House back in the day I meet Desi Arnaz Jr. he was doing a play in Dayton ,Ohio in the 70's at a meet and greet very nice young man . Sending Good vibes from Ohio ; ) to everyone
Thanks to Jordan and Lauren for a great vlog. I really found this one "fun" as I think everyone loved Lucy. I know first hand how cool it is to spend time with Jordan . Some day I will have the chance to meet Jah. Appreciate the time you take to share with us. Love to you.....
Lucy and Desi were terrific performers to be able to make hilarious episodes while being at each other's throats! Knowing that, I appreciate what they left us even more. ❤️👏
In some of the interviews with Lucie Arnaz she mentioned that later on when Lucy & Desi married other spouses, they still had feelings and admiration for each other to the point of Desi sending Lucille flowers every year on her birthday.
I was in LA in 1990 or 91 don't remember exactly but Lucys house was for sale and had an open house. I was very 70s decorated but seemed a lived in family home. There were clothes in the closets, dishes in the kitchen cabinets. The back yard was open with a beautiful pool. I Love Lucy till today. Paved the way for women in comedy. The high walls were not there back then.
I'm a huge Lucille Ball /Desi Arnaz fan. I own every CD as well. My 10yr grandson and I watch "I Love Lucy" every weekend (at his request) when he comes over. He also can quote lines from "I Love Lucy" which cracks me up. I've been by the house years ago. After seeing this vlog I think I'll take a day and drive up to LA and show him the house. Their relationship was a heartbreaking love story. Several days before Desi passed Lucy talk to him on the phone. Lucy told him in 100 different ways "I love you." (According to their daughter). I'll be planning my little road trip soon I'm only 146.5 miles away 😊
Dallas Cowboys fan 1980 🤗👍exactly the same for me ! I am crazy about i love Lucy ! I am fan 1980 series but my favorite one is definitely i love Lucy ❤️
Dallas Cowboys fan 1980 I agree, people don’t realize the impact Lucy and Desi made and what they were able to accomplish. My mother was a huge fan and I grew up watching! I was up in Jamestown NY for work and was able to visit her childhood home and grave.... they also have the Desi Lucy Museum there but I didn’t have time to visit it :( I will visit it one day!
Jordan, your vlogs are always delightful. Nice touch with your friend there. She looked great! You've also demonstrated that you've got an eye for interesting details with that paper blotted with lipstick.
That really touched my heart how you said Lucy was sad when they were renovating her house. They seen her ghost. I lost a home I love due to two family members....trust me...I know how she feels! 😢💔🏡
I'm from Buffalo and I've always wanted to head down to Jamestown to pay a visit to Lucy's gravesite. I've traveled past the cemetery many times but haven't had the chance to stop in. This was an interesting view into a private side not many people got to see. Thanks
I remember seeing some of the photos and home movies on television from this house. So great to actually see it! This was a great vlog (as usual!) and Lauren was awesome! I love Lucy!!
I've seen this house in person, took a movie stars tour and saw all these celebrity homes ...btw jordan thank u so much for the heart and the sweet response , i'd love to meet u and jah someday cause u do such nice vlogs , i know u moved to Vegas and sure hope you're happy in you're new home 🍹😍
just today i ran across your vlogs. i love them! i'm an old person and i remember many of these people, watching them on t.v. while my mom ironed - LOL! . how great to see their homes and get a perspective into their lives. thanks for this.
I recently found your channel and I'm really enjoying it. When Desi had his ranch in Corona, California, I was growing up in nearby Norco. I can remember us driving past and seeing it. This was in the 60s.
She deserved so much more than what he gave her and did for her I LOVE loved I love Lucy plus a few other things id seen her in she truly was beautiful and hilarious!!! So sad he couldn't have treated her better !!! But you know the saying the heart wants what it wants even though it ain't always good for us !!! Blessings!!!!
I know this is a old video, but I love it! I really Loved Lucy. I still watch her.I was able to get to New York to see her childhood home and museum. Thank you for redoing this Jordan
Seen a few of your vlogs before. Just subbed. You did an excellent job. Most enjoyable!! Sending love out to the memory of Lucy and her surviving children and grandkids. I loved the Here's Lucy show with Desi and Lucy Jr's.....miss those days!!!
I love Lucy!!! Truly one of the best of all time. She was one of the first movie stars to move to television. She was one funny lady and the comedy still holds up today. One thing l didn't know was the communist aspect. I liked the house better when Lucy owned it. It had the window boxes and foliage growing on it which is more of a classical look than plain tan stucco. Great vlog and great cohost.
when i used to go sight-seeing in Beverly Hills Roxbury Drive was always one of my favorite streets - Rosemary Clooney, Peter Falk, Jack Benny, Ira Gershwin, Agnes Moorehead, and of course, Lucy and Desi's house all within the same block of each other - later on Madonna owned the home at 1015, which was previously owned by Diane Keaton and hollywood legend Betty Grable - Lucy and then husband Gary Morton still lived there at the time and, as always, we respected their privacy and never even thought of doing anything more than just driving past the residences on Roxbury - it was, and probably still is, one of the most famous street in Beverly Hills
Falcon Lair I agree with you one of the most famous streets in Beverly Hills. Lucie Arnaz once said they would be home people would knock on the door all the time.
your video is so stupendous...You give us all the details and you are a great video person...thank you for all you do....am singing up for your updates... enjoyed this tremendously....
Some tidbits i know about Lucy and Cher. Lucy and Desi employed Cher's mother Georgia Holt as an extra, she was a model, singer/actress. She was a striking and still gorgeous blond who can be seen in a few episodes. Cher and her sister appeared as extras as children on Ozzy & Harriet. When Sonny & Cher made their big breakout as singers in 1965-66, Georgia overheard Lucy raving about them....and Georgia said oh Lucy that's my daughter, Cher. Lucy insisted on meeting her and they became very good friend....playing backgammon in the 1970's at a Club Called Mr. Pipps in B.H. When Cher decided to divorce Sonny, she went to Lucy who offered her advice as she had been thru the same thing with Desi. (cheating husband at the height of their career) There is also a funny story about how Lucy and Cher were at a party with Johnny Carson in attendance, this would have been during the Watergate years. Lucy and Cher were laughing and joking about Nixon, and this made Johhny made and he admonished them....Cher never appeared on the tonite show with him. on another note Lucy's next door neighbor was Jack Benny who they always heard playing his violin. Jimmy Stewart lived down the street for Lucy. One year he decided to plant a vegetable garden. He must have over planted or had a large yield that year as he late would take baskets of produce up and down the street trying to give it all away....Thanks for the video. Great job as always.
You can read about Lucy and Cher's evening at Johnny Carson's house in Cher's memoir, "My Book Of Firsts." I'm not precisely certain of the title, but it can be found.
That window you mentioned was the bay window that looked out from the living room. The backgammon room was off of the kitchen. Up above the living room was Lucy's bedroom. Her bathroom motif was red, of course. She had an huge, sweeping living space upstairs toward the back overlooking the backyard and pool. To the left of her house lived Jack Benny. To the right, across Lexington - Jimmy Stewart. I know I sound like a smart aleck - but I enjoyed your video as usual, J. Thanks to you and the hot brunette for loving Lucy.
James Stewart cultivated a vegetable garden in the lot next door to his Tudor-style home on Roxbury. He regularly gave baskets of fresh produce to his neighbors. Lucie Arnaz does an hilarious imitation of Stewart in an interview (it may be on You Tube) when he tried to deliver a basket to the back door and Lucy's Chinese housekeeper kept telling him they didn't want to buy any of his vegetables, not understanding what was happening. Rosemary Clooney owned the former Gershwin home (now demolished, as is Jimmy Stewart's house) where "They Can't Take That Away From Me" was originally composed in the living room. Ugh, progress!!
That was really interesting and your enthusiasm... look at that building wow is that the statue of liberty it's cute like a big boy that's what is part of your appeal you have this youth like innocent enthusiasm and passion it gets people excited
Well thanks! I did learn more about Lucille Ball. I grew up watching the reruns and still enjoy it today when I see it. That show still holds up and is so wholesomely entertaining. Lucy was a beautiful lady as you show in her pics.
God bless Lucille Ball..there will never be another like her. Jordan i am a new subscriber and as long as you keep doing videos like this,i will be here til the end all the way. Give Jah an extra hug for me haha that little one is EXACTLY like Scoob's (Jah's could be twin). They both look the same and have same characteristics. I have been binge watching your videos all weekend long and you have some pretty interesting stuff documented man. Take care and looking for the next adventure.
Interesting Vlog again Jordan, a beautiful home from what can be seen, according to some, she loved the place so much, I've heard that Lucy' spirit can still be seen hanging around the place at times. Thanks again
Jordan?! You got some 'splaining to doooo! Lucy is from Jamestown,NY 50 mi. From Olean,NY ( Capone's "little Chicago").everything in Jamestown is "Lucy". A music store there ripped me off on a drumset when I was a hardworking kid. Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers) is also from Jamestown. Lucy and Desi had the first soundstage in Hollywood. Love all this nostalgia.thank you Jordan. Jah!
I love Nathan & Al’s pastrami sandwiches and pistachio cake. We used to eat there after my eye dr appts every four months or so. I grew up on I Love Lucy and have about 48 favorite episodes recorded. I am also enjoying old interviews on TH-cam with Lucie Arnaz, Richard Keith, Desi Jr. and old radio interviews that Lucille Ball had done in the mid 1960’s with fellow acting legends from the movies and Broadway. Thanks for taking us through memory lane Jordan and always a joy seeing Jah in the mix. Also thank you to the pretty young lady lion heart fan who filled in a couple details too. ❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺🌴
They were bad at the end of the marriage but they became friends once they divorced. And I've always heard that Dezi considered Lucy the love of his life and he was full of regrets about the things he did to ruin the marriage.
Jordan your vlogs are so informative, and the narrative is awesome, I’ve never seen any other on TH-cam who compares, that’s the honest truth!! I learn so much from your videos! Thank you 😊
I do love Lucy !! I've got to share this on Facebook with my family and friends . I remember watching a special about her life along time ago . I had forgotten about it until I watched your vlog . I remember them saying that her and her I guess siblings would dress up and put on skits when she was growing up . The acting was always apart of her life . I also remember watching , " The Lucky Show after her and Dese got a divorce . She played a single mom with three kids . I love that show too . Wow.... Jordan , you have an amazing life !! Getting to go see these places is awesome !! You're living the dream that many of us would love to live . Thanks so much for sharing this awesome vlog !!! 🐕💗
I live in Jamestown, NY where Lucy's from. Originally, I am from Virginia and when I first moved up here, in 1977, Lucy would come up, every year and go to Jamestown High School where my children all graduated. We have many bldg's, the sides w/big murals and of course we have the museum and Comedy Store. Yes, Lucy is, was and will always be The Queen O'Comedy!!
Thanks guys for the video i enjoy every bit of it. love the inf you gave of lucy n Desi home in Beverly hills. 2 weeks ago we went to Jamestown enjoy the museum and their new National Comedy Center. Also went to the cemetery and her childhood home and the home that she grew up with her grandparents but I think they should have had more activities in the town so that people that drove from a distance or fly from far away are able to enjoy more of Jamestown but overall no regrets had a very good time hope you all enjoy as well. and support the local restaurant and hotels they're really trying to maintain the area it needs help thank you.
Jordan I think you are so adorable and your little buddy is so cute! I think that the way you conduct these vlogs is respectful.I like hearing stories of old Hollywood and Standing where they stood but I do it in a way that pays tribute to them!
Loved this ! Nice to see a fellow lionheart on the vlog ! Good job love the storytelling ! You’ve an advantage being tall being able to look over the fence . You always notice the fine details In things . I actually watched the super bowl but still didn’t understand the rules lol but it was fun to watch. 👍🏻🦁🎥🎬😎💙🏈👍🏻
Hi Jordan, I'm a new subscriber who lived in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura Co. for over 30 years and when my husband's employer transferred us to the Austin, TX area, we just retired here. I LOVE your channel! You've shown so many places I never got to see and your information regarding all these places is FANTASTIC! Keep up the GREAT JOB! I love all Vlogs! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
In developing the three camera system, the producers balked at the cost. Desi said he would pay for all of it, BUT he would own all the rights to the system, as well as the films they produced.
He came from a business oriented family in Cuba. His ancestor was part owner of Bacardi Rum in Cuba. I learned that fact from a couple of other videos I’ve seen. When Castro the dictator kicked his family out of their mansion in Cuba, Desi’s first job was cleaning canary cages til he got his big break with bandleader Xavier Cugat.
Love “ I Love Lucy” would visit the exhibition in Universe Studios every time I went to Orlando for my holidays from the UK. Was gutted when it was scraped for Hello Kitty 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I knew most of the exhibits by heart ❤️
Great vlog. I was a subscriber, still am, but now have clicked the bell to make sure I don't miss any. You should watch the I Love Lucy episode, "The Tour" if you want to see the actual property used in an episode. It's rather cool that they did such a thing. Very nostalgic in it's own right.
If you get a chance to visit Edelweiss Chocolates in Beverly Hills, I believe you can tour the back room where the chocolate factory scene was filmed for the candy -making episode.... (I think you'll need to make a reservation prior)
I’m actually remodeling the inside of the house. It’s a really nice home, I’ve found old letters and pictures of Lucy and her husband. Really beautiful backyard and historic place.
What I find so interesting is these "stars" lived in relatively modest homes (compared to today) and they contributed so much. I am very interested in this street. I love imagining all these people living in close proximity. :)
Thank you for this! To the right, across Lexington - Jimmy Stewart. I know I sound like a smart aleck - but I enjoyed your video as usual, J. Thanks to you and the hot brunette for loving Lucy.
I like Elvis! Just subbed!
ELVIS PRESLEY WORLDWIDE
ELVIS PRESLEY WORLDWIDE if
Roxbury Drive had a lot of stars! Agnes Moorehead, Rosemary Clooney, George and Ira Gerswin, just to name a few!
Awesome as usual thanks Jordan
That was really interesting and your enthusiasm... look at that building wow is that the statue of liberty it's cute like a big boy that's what is part of your appeal you have this youth like innocent enthusiasm and passion it gets people excited
Well thanks! I did learn more about Lucille Ball. I grew up watching the reruns and still enjoy it today when I see it. That show still holds up and is so wholesomely entertaining. Lucy was a beautiful lady as you show in her pics.
Thanks for giving a nice tour and history of Lucy. Very talented actress ❤️
Loved this episode! Thank you
God bless Lucille Ball..there will never be another like her.
I always watch I love Lucy that show was the best show .she made the show . And her buddy Ethel I liked her .
Loved it !! Love all your videos. Well Done
Thank you for this! I appreciate anything Lucy related, & can't wait for the Chatsworth location!!! 👌
Enjoyed this a lot!
The house looked better before the remodelling ! why would anyone change such a historical landmark?
They were bad at the end of the marriage but they became friends once they divorced. And I've always heard that Dezi considered Lucy the love of his life and he was full of regrets about the things he did to ruin the marriage.
Saw him on a late night show and he gave her all the credit for their success. He was the love of her life even though they divorced, imo.
Jordan your vlogs are so informative, and the narrative is awesome, I’ve never seen any other on TH-cam who compares, that’s the honest truth!! I learn so much from your videos! Thank you 😊
Thank you!!
Daze with Jordan the Lion you’re very welcome,
Wow I really loved this one. My mom really loved Lucy alot.
I do love Lucy !! I've got to
share this on Facebook with my family and friends . 🐕💗
Thank you for sharing! I learned a lot about Lucy!
You are one of my favorite TH-camrs !! Love lovee your videos !
I love your videos. Thanks for all the tours.
You're very welcome
@ 11:30 ! Hahaha The little hummingbird! It kind of looks like it's trying to stay out of your shot of the house by flying low. Imagine!
GOOD MORNING JORDAN AND JAH!!! I LOVE LUCY... THANKS.
Lucy also transformed a part of Paramount Studios so her kids felt like they were home.
Nice video! I heard Glenn Danzig live in one of Lucy's old house in Cheviot Hills.
Jordan I think you are so adorable and your little buddy is so cute! I think that the way you conduct these vlogs is respectful.I like hearing stories of old Hollywood and Standing where they stood but I do it in a way that pays tribute to them!
I love you blog's. If you ever get to Jamestown NY i highly recommend visiting the Desilu Museum. Its fabulous

Thank you Jordan enjoyed it. Loved your friend Lauren she's so nice & pretty! Huge Lucy fan this was very interesting. Take care
Thank you lauren.thank u for doing the vlogs brotha i enjoyed it
In developing the three camera system, the producers balked at the cost. Desi said he would pay for all of it, BUT he would own all the rights to the system, as well as the films they produced.
Heard he was quite a business man.
I like the way you two presented this, wonderful info shared.
Great vlog. I was a subscriber, still am, but now have clicked the bell to make sure I don't miss any. You should watch the I Love Lucy episode, "The Tour" if you want to see the actual property used in an episode. It's rather cool that they did such a thing. Very nostalgic in it's own right.
I'm actually reading Lucy's autobiography. Great vlog!
Fabulous! Thank you!
If you get a chance to visit Edelweiss Chocolates in Beverly Hills, I believe you can tour the back room where the chocolate factory scene was filmed for the candy -making episode.... (I think you'll need to make a reservation prior)
Just visited this beautiful home thanks to you Jordan. Also visited Hollywood lake park great place. Great channel!!
Thanks Jordan great vlog.
Great video Jordan and your guest host was awesome too!
I’m actually remodeling the inside of the house. It’s a really nice home, I’ve found old letters and pictures of Lucy and her husband. Really beautiful backyard and historic place.
Great!! Very cool experience
You’re remodeling Lucy’s former house on Roxbury - the one in this vlog?
What I find so interesting is these "stars" lived in relatively modest homes (compared to today) and they contributed so much. I am very interested in this street. I love imagining all these people living in close proximity. :)
Great vlog. Learned a lot about Lucy I didn't know. Thanks for sharing this.
I to love Lucy! Nice to see you out with a fine looking lion heart!
Great job! Thank you for sharing 😄
Awesome video!
Loryin has a beautiful sweater. Love the vlog on Lucy!
