    What a heartbreaking story, my heart hurts for him. Lost everything, on his way back to direct again, then passing away... tragic. Thankfully he had Buster to stand up with him, a true friend. What a great job you did in telling how it was, thank you, Jordan! 🌼

    New respect for Buster Keaton, a true friend to Roscoe. There should be a plaque at the house for Roscoe.

    Many believe that there's actually a curse that still follows the "Fatty" Arbuckle story. Hollywood has tried to make a major motion picture about the story and the three most sought after actors of their respective times were in negotiations to play him when they unexpectedly passed...John Belushi, John Candy and Chris Farley.

    • @mattmischnick2926
      @mattmischnick2926 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Thank you!
      In the case of Chris Farley, David Spade even signed to play Buster Keaton.

    • @freakshowfilmfestival3591
      @freakshowfilmfestival3591 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well John B. and Chris were trying to burn that candle fast with the drugs and John C. was pretty bad off with his weight. I don't feel any of these were unexpected.
      The actual cursed movie is some sort of eskimo movie or something. I will Google it real quick. That one is really cursed.

    Omg! The inside of that house was absolutely stunning!!! I can’t believe it was completely empty with nobody around, that’s crazy! Maybe there were people upstairs? Btw I always thought the thing with the bread rolls on forks thing was Buster Keaton that did that. Johnny Depp also did it in “Benny and Joon” with Mary Stuart Masterson. I loved that film. Whatever happened to her?

    • @thedativecase9733
      @thedativecase9733 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it was originally Charlie Chaplin that did the bread rolls on forks thing! I think the film was The Immigrant. Charlie is trying to make a girl laugh.

    Chris Farley was set to play “Fatty” Arbuckle in the 90’s But they told him he would have to submit to drug tests and be clean for two years prior to filming but he just couldn’t do it and he died not long after. He would have made a GREAT Fatty. 😞Also Michael Jackson used to keep a picture of Fatty on his bedside table. He said he felt he could relate to him because they were both wrongly accused. Great video 👏🏻

    I saw a video recently a video of one of the Little Rascals (Darling) where she had a great story about Roscoe. There was a rabid dog on the grounds and the Rascals were having a photo shoot, everyone backed away from the dog but a little girl was trying to pet it. He ran over and picked up the girl, the mother was angry at him 😢 Roscoe started to cry and Stan Laurel took him to get ice cream.

    Hello Mr. Z here - William H. A. Carr in 1962's "Hollywood Tragedy" "....3 trails of Roscoe there were charges and counter charges of bribery, perjury, suppression of evidence, intimidation, coaching of witnesses...or witnesses vanishing all together. Most of Roscoe's friends did stand by him however the bulk of the moving going public turned on him. And that killed the heart of Roscoe.

    Great video, and thank you for making this. I am an Arbuckle and was always told I was somehow related to Roscoe. His story really breaks my heart, and I’d love to know more about his case. Where did you get your information? I’ve found some on the internet, but I never heard of that Maude ( I have a lot of choice words for her but will just keep those to myself) until your video. Proverbs 6:16-19 - That God detests: 17 a lying tongue 18 A heart plotting wicked schemes, and feet that run quickly to evil, 19 A false witness who lies with every breath, And anyone sowing contentions
    He died of a heart attack because of all the lies/gossip that ruined him. If you know someone to be a liar, then why are you punishing an innocent person. Even though people know that it's a lie, they would rather still go along with the lie, than the truth. JUST DISGUSTING!

    Beautiful home. Like the Thelma Todd case this one was another that didn't make sense. He was thrown under the bus. Why didn't they wait for the autopsy before accusing anyone. Taking the word of a woman who was known for several morality flaws in those days doesn't make sense. Don't even get me started on Hearst. Fatty should have sued and owned that newspaper. Many think the stress of all he went through was an additive cause to his death. Very sad destruction of a human life. Kudos to Buster Keaton for being a true friend. Thanks for an in-depth look into this case.

    • @Tam5115
      @Tam5115 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Soothsayer1356 - This was tragic, and even when he was acquitted, he wasn't accepted. That happens still. Forensic science had very little to contribute in such cases, and Hearst owned the media. I firmly believe this contributed to his death at such a young age, and Roscoe was a victim who was done wrong.
      iirc, i don't think they knew much about Maude's con artist lifestyle, or Virginia Rappe's 'open door' policy. (the popo in SF) but everybody knew who Roscoe Arbuckle was. People jumped on because they could smell the money! Prosecutor with political ambitions, gossip gobblers and scandal seekers.
      They accused him of penetrating Rappe with a champagne bottle! She died of peritonitis and a ruptured bladder. (supposedly caused by the bottle, but more likely a botched abortion)

    Wonderful Vlog Jordan, Fatty's story is so sad I believe it killed him. The mansion is stunning.

      Arbuckle used the pseudonym William Goodrich as a director in his later years. It was supposedly as a joke that Keaton suggested Will B. Good, which Arbuckle never used. Using "Will B. Good" would have been tantamount to admitting some type of wrongdoing.
