One of my fondest memories from childhood is hearing my mother howling with laughter at the I Love Lucy show. Now she's laughing with Lucy in heaven. Very nice vid and thanks for the memories.

Dear Jerry, I reiterate what Micahel Zukerman said below...I still watch the "I Love Lucy" show today.. it's on "Comedy Gold" a channel my cable provider offers at a small extra cost.. and it's worth it! You cannot find good clean entertainment on tv anymore...and I will always love and appreciate all of these people in the show.. they have brought me laughter and tears and enjoyment for mot of my life... thank you so much for all of these videos.. I used to watch most of them when I was a very young girl.. I wish many of them were still available. God bless :)

Love the details that you share with us and your whole production. As a child of the 50's, I grew up watching I Love Lucy for so many years. Loved it then and still love it today. If, by chance, I pass by a TV with an old episode on, I have to stop and watch and the smile on my face will match the smile on my heart every time. The show was as much a part of my growing up life, as my family. And when Lucy died, I remember so well the sadness I felt, as if a member of my own family passed. She felt like a member of my family. And what a great foursome they all were together. I hope they all know, wherever they are, the joy they brought into the hearts of so many. And thank God, for film, for it remains a gift of life for all of us... as it brings back to life all the grand people of the past. And thank you for your gift to us in this terrific "remember when"! I loved this show so much as a child I had to watch it before bed or in the summer there where marathons all through out my adolescent. I named my first born son Desiderio after Desi. It's timeless classic comedy, I was watching these episodes on Nick at Nite In the early 90's and the comedy was just as funny and fresh as if it was live. I didn't know it had been taped decades before my time. I still have multiple Dvd's I watch and I never get tired of watching the show..Thanks for the upload

thank you jerry. i must say i knew a lot of this.. but your details filled in all the blanks... Lucy is/was old enough to be my grandmother... i was always fascinated with her, because i saw a color photo of her when i was young... i was secretly in love with her from that point on... i still measure all my gals (in a way) to Lucy and the recently departed Maureen O'Hara.... well lets just say the good Lord don't build them that way anymore...thanks again Jerry for all you do.

The early years of The Lucy Show were amazing, especially season 1. I liked the idea of Lucy playing a widowed mother, with Viv as her roommate, also a mother but divorced. Desi was executive producer for the first half of it, and it was his idea that they do the series. It would've looked bad if he guest starred as one of Lucy Carmichael's ex boyfriends or something. Off camera however, Miss Ball was very stressed and uptight because she was starring on a new hit series and running Desilu Studios at the same time. Anyone would be under a ton of stress. She was the most powerful woman in Hollywood back then. But she still made us laugh! Thats all she wanted.

Those first 2-3 seasons also had the same writers as I Love Lucy. Lucy & Viv were fantastic together, of course. I loved the premise. They were Kate & Allie 25 years before Kate & Allie. I didn't think the show was nearly as funny in S4-S6, when Lucy moved to L.A. & worked as Mr. Mooney's secretary & lived in an apartment. Viv was gone, the kids were gone, & the writers were gone. It was an entirely different show.

I probably wrote this already on another comment, but I only really got into Lucy last year after I started watching Mission: Impossible, and found out she green lit the project, and Star Trek, even though both shows were making a huge financial loss, she kept those going for many seasons. After finding out that she made these shows possible, I went back and watched many of her wonderful screwy B&W movies, and found so much fun in those that I kept watching them. I think I heard she was good friends with Ginger Rogers, and they were in the same acting school, and became friends. Dont know if I remember this correctly but it would account for their similar comedy timing and funny faces. I've never seen one episode of I Love Lucy, but yes she pioneered the camera and studio techniques that TV shows use to this day. What a marvelous lady! Thank you for this timely documentary and insight into the lives of all those who made this happen. It seems her impact on Television is second only to Hedy Lamarr, who invented mobile technology, GPS and WiFi.

Jerry you have a beautiful voice, but I have a question, are you going to do one on the 70's show "Good Times"? My reasoning, is because the cast of that show is very unique, in that everybody from that cast except Ester Rolle is amazingly STILL alive. No other show from that long ago can say that. From John Amos, Jimmie Walker, Janet Dubois, Janet Jackson, the janitor(I forget his real name), and even the woman that played Janet Jackson's abusive mother that daughter later in life became a famous actress herself. Seems nobody has done a story on such a unique TV show where the entire cast is still alive from so very long ago....

I've always heard that Lucy & Desi planned one of the first spin-offs in TV history, starring Vivian Vance and William Frawley, to be called (what else?) "Fred and Ethel". **VV ABSOLUTELY REFUSED!!** She said, in so many words, "I have worked with this SOB for the last time!" Thus, WF was his own worst enemy, as is true with so many people...
