    In general a 2 kw seem to be a lot louder than the 5kw , thus if this 2kw Lavaner is quieter than a regular 5kw , than that is a BIG improvement .

    @David Mclukie i have a 2kw very loud on start up. The quietest setting is at 8degrees. Totally agree the bigger heaters are quieter. But the 2kw are more efficient. She hardly smokes a 2kw heater

    I really like this Lavaner heater . You get so much more for so little extra cash . Quiet bearings . A robust wiring loom with quality connections . A properly balanced fan which over time will reduce shaft and bearing wear . I have already installed a cheap £90 Jobby which is fine but if it goofs up I’m sure to be going for one of these. Thanks for the content it’s really helpful 👍

    Hi David, I’m an avid watcher of your videos.
    I’m struggling to find some information…
    I have a 2KW Vevor heater with one of JBS’s silent pumps fitted.
    What internal (combustion chamber) temperatures should I be seeing at both low and high fan speeds.
    There’s lots of info for this on 5KW heaters but not much on 2KW.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    • @DavidMcLuckie
      @DavidMcLuckie  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I'm presuming you mean housing temperature? Unless you've drilled a hole to probe internal temperatures? In which case it's the same for the smaller heater. If memory serves me the ECU throttles back at about 200ºC. You'll want it as hot as possible while keeping the CO output low.

    • @sirhc911
      @sirhc911 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Yes, I think that’s what I meant. I have a 3 button controller but one of the units it displays while the heater is running is a high temperature number. It was around 116°C on high (H6) with the JBS silent pump on the ‘factory arrow’. I turned the pot right down and this reading dropped to around 100°C. Turned it right up and it got to around 160°C which I still feel is a bit low

    David, just ordered a Lavaner 5kw. I've not really got a way to mount my fuel pump outside and also have to put the heater under my bed in my RV as there is nowhere else suitable. Will the sound be tolerable or will I need to do some heavy duty muffling of the pump and exhaust?

    I’m confused. Why did you compare a 2kw lavaner to a 5kw CDH and not a 2kw CDH? Surely it would’ve been a fairer comparison to a 2kw CDH.

    • @DavidMcLuckie
      @DavidMcLuckie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good question. Firstly I only have one whole 2KW heater and that is the Lavaner. Secondly the 2KWs always sound louder than the 5KW. So if a 2KW Lavaner sounds about as loud as a standard 5KW then we can infer that it will sound quieter than a standard 2KW. Hopefully that made sense.

  • @brennen6354
    @brennen6354 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have any experience with the lcd controllers with the cylindrical plug. I believe the fan, glowplug, pump are all displayed in small red symbols on the bottom of the screen. Seems like all the 2kw I can find are shipping with those style now and I wonder if you can do the fine tuning with that style. I also seen a video someone recently posted they had the 4 button (Non screen) remote control with theirs but they didn't use it to start it up. That would be nice if I could get a remote for that style controller.
    My hopefully true 2kw heater is on the way, been a bear to confirm the 5kw listings vs 2kw.

    In my experience the case of these heaters are plastic. I've noticed that a lot of speakers are made of plastic too these days.
    Fans emit a wide spectrum of sound frequencies, some of which are undoubtably resonating with the heater case.
    I'm guessing most of the noise is from this.
    They make sound deadening stuff intended for cars. Thin stuff and with a sticky back. Might be worth an experiment. :)

    • @DavidMcLuckie
      @DavidMcLuckie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem I can see with that is that is a tar based product. So you'd basically be wrapping your heater in a type of fuel. Granted it would have to go seriously wrong the catch fire, but I don't think it needs to be too warm to soften it.
