    No Bluetooth yet like the new Speeding rods heaters ? I think Lavaner should add this feature on the next update. is it expensive for them to add Alpine mode to all heaters ?

    I have the Pro and its absolutely amazing.
    A massive plus point is having Craig H contact for any help and advice, I have 100% Confidence in the heater and know for a fact if I ever had an issue Craig is only a message away.
    The Pro and Pro Max is a million miles away from a vevor £89 heater and very very close to the "far more" expensive heaters out there.

    Thank you for your excellent informative video.
    I've just received my 5kw Lavaner Pro and, disappointingly, it does not have a waterproof 'potted' cpu. Neither does it have the additional body sensor. It also needs the ports cleaned up to remove the rough casting snags. Overall I'm disappointed in the quality of it considering the high premium price I paid over the cost of the standard Chinese heater. Although the accessories are definitely better quality.
    But it certainly does not seem up to the standard of those provided to you. Seriously thinking of returning it.

    It's been 2 years since I bought a 2KW Lavaner pro, all this time I've only had problems with it! then it does not start, then it smokes, then at the most inopportune time it turns off, I do not remember how many times I had to remove it trying to fix it. Before that, I had a Espar EBERSPACHER Airtronic D2, which worked properly for 15 years. I bought the Lavaner for $250 and suffered for more than $1,000!

    Thanks for your great video - this is very helpful! Do you know if it is possible to see what the internal burn temperature is from the LCD display? Im having a problem with my lavaner pro max alpine unit building up soot and trying to determine the root cause of my issue. Ive had to blow air through the intake twice now in the last two weeks with a shop-vac in order to get it to fire up and saw lots of black chunks / black smoke come out of the exhaust each time. Ive been running on high for the last week or so without any further issues but id like to be able to run it on a lower setting without worry its going to give up in the middle of the night. Another question - is it ok to run the silencer in the middle of the exhaust run or must the silencer be at the end of the run?

    Apart from the amazing afterburner does any of the available Chinese controllers actually switch the heater on and off based on the thermostat?

    • @DavidMcLuckie
      @DavidMcLuckie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. Kind of. The controller in the Hcalory all-in-one that I tested in a previous video has a mode where you can set a temperature. When it goes over that temperature it fully shuts down, and when it falls again by two degrees the heater fires back up again.
      I really wish the controller was available separately.

    David I would love to buy a Lavaner Pro 9kW for my home 🏡 Lets face it Air heater is going to be far more capable than trying to firstly heat up 9 large metal radiators & all the pipes, so much waste energy in doing that, but heating up the actual air is far better & you can direct the heat where you want it, to me as a retired Aerospace Defense Hardware Verification Qualification Test Engineer, I always go for quality first because it lasts longer, Lavaner have certainly engineered a really great unit that's caught my eye, its very sensible design where they measure body, air temperature inlet, chamber temperature, & output case temperature, for sure the controller will have a temperature measurement device, what would be nice would be a Lambda probe in the heater, Altitude sensor, Yes indeed I'm seriously very impressed with this demonstration of the unit, Yes I can certainly see the quality of the casting & glowplug construction, as a retired hardware verification qualification test engineer I'm probably classed as a very fussy person it's very true, I will be contacting Craig Ho👍 for an order, I have a Chinese wife & family in China so communication in Mandarin is very easy & straightforward.
    Nice 👌 Demonstration David 👍

    Hello David.
    I have watched your videos with much interest particularly your comparisons with different manufacturers of diesel heaters, which leads me to my question, when dismantling you note whether the connections are insulated with a glue like substance, which on the more expensive models it does seem, on and around the motherboard, they do come with some glue type insulation I assume to prevent water/condensation corrosion. That being said would you advise on those without such protection to invest in a product such as

      @@DavidMcLuckie But afterburner works with the regular pro (non alpine)? And since I have you, does the non-alpine/non-max 2kw Pro have the ability to run at altitude (with manual settings)? I'm a genuine cheap bastard, but I'm getting tired of hunting for a bargain 2kw (especially since I won't know if it's actually 2kw until it arrives). The Lavaner seems worth the extra expensive, but only if I can make the ~$220 (Pro, non-alpine, non-max) unit run at altitude (~5000 feet), jumping up to the max alpine for an additional $150 is out of the budget. So, does the base pro work (manually) at alpine?

    • @DavidMcLuckie
      @DavidMcLuckie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Afterburner works with non-alpine. You can adjust the settings of the non-alpine with the Afterburner to something that will work at high altitude. Something like 0.8hz - 1500rpm & 2.4hz - 4500rpm.

      @hereusethis ปีที่แล้ว

    its kind of hard to believe that a chinese 2kw of this size is heating our 2 up 2 down semi detached house at 2.1Hz to 20 degrees C for 10 hours a day using a mere 2 litres of diesel, our 32kw gas boiler uses up £12.00 a day in natural gas, this is saving us around £9.00 a day in heating costs heating the inside air. everyone struggling to heat their home in this mass extorsion of gas prices going on at the moment should have one, these things could end fuel poverty for a lot of families in the UK, its a great shame that no one has seen these as a good solution to end fuel poverty and it could make the difference between life and death for some people.
