Hahaha, no sense in being afraid of that one. If she's into you enough then you should probably be able to know that she'll say "yes" when you ask but you can always casually probe her a bit about it if you're not 100% sure. Any fuckups and imperfections you do when proposing will only add to the romance. I proposed on some wooden dock over a small creak and proceeded to actually drop the f-ing ring onto the dock (which had gaps in between the wood) while trying to put it on her finger. Luckily it didn't drop into the flowing water but even if it would've I'm sure we would've been fine.

Another great video Jon! I think you are consistently nailing the edutainment angle of your videos these days and it makes them amongst my favorite on the platform. Something I picked up from this is not being afraid to dip into some of the more 'out there' colors for skin tones even if the initial application is terrifying-- I thought the purples, blue, and greens you used on the skin turned out fantastically.

I'm grinding through my Zombicide Black Plague minis currently. My method is just a single gray prime and contrast paints, then an all over wash of Agrax Earthshade to tie them together. I'm mostly sticking to more natural colors, but I think clothing dyes were more common than you would think, so I do give the occasional "bright" color here and there. The wash grimes up nicely though. I still haven't had a chance to mess with oils. Anyway my next step is a Dullcote varnish, then some Blood For The Blood God last so it keeps the shine. They're looking pretty good, but taking me a bit longer than a day haha.

Fun fact : if "middle age" villagers didn't have "expensive dyed clothes" (well, in Europe, they did have basic dyes, like red), they were known for being able to stay clean.
The "average medieval villagers = dirty" is one of the biggest historical conception.

Yep, and dyes were actually a lot more accessible than people realised! I imagine that you'd get a lot more sun bleaching in some cases.

@@charlottelee4397 Yep. It was mainly _specific_ hues that were a bit tricky to acquire. Other than those, though, the medieval era was considerably more colorful than our "Renaissance guys using historical revisionism to make their own accomplishments seem better" preconceptions would have us believe. As it turns out, people of any era like pretty colors.

russet was easy but proper red was hard before synthetic dyes because you need cochineal which is from the americas

Perfect timing, just got a box of Zombicide for my birthday the other day and now have around 100 zombie minis to paint.
Also didn't know UHU was a thing outside of Germany, that's neat.

Quite an interesting look you have going on there. Very shiny and translucent. I painted a horde of zombies too, but mine are very matt and chalky instead. I love how this hobby allows people to make those choices!

The uhu mix looks incredible. I was very sceptical and thought it would look tacky, but on mass it has a great, gory effect.

My first painting marathon has been about painting zombies, 80 of them at the same time. I swore never again , and it has been 21 years ago
