This is exactly how my Nonno made them 😢 He passed in 2017 and I haven't had them like he made them ever since. Thanks for sharing this recipe, it might be worth a try
@IjeomaThePlantMama they have literally exactly the same inflection in their voices I'm not trying to be insulting it's just an unfortunate observation
Fun fact: Artichokes are a flower bud and belong to the family of thistles. When they bloom they have a bunch of tiny little purple hairlike flowers that emerge from the center.
I love artichokes almost any way except canned and marinated. Boiled, steamed, stuffed, baked, deep fried, grilled are all good, but stuffed with cheesy breadcrumbs are my favorite dish. I peel the stem and eat that too. I am growing artichokes for the first time ever in my container garden. I’m a novice gardener, so I don’t know how well they’ll do, but so far they’ve grown quite a bit and seem happy in their sunny yet sheltered location. I just enjoy watching things grow.
In Algeria we either just boil it and eat it with olive oil and lots of vinegar or we stuff the hearts with minced meat , rice and cinnamon and we cook it in sauce it's called dolma
The way my family eats artichoke, is you cut the stem off and you just trim the top of the leaves. Then you boiled the whole thing to hell. Then you dip the leaves and butter. And then you get to eat the heart of the artichoke, which is a little out of its way to eat since you have to get rid of all the tiny hairs. But the actual leaves of artichoke are technically simple and cook. Though you do have to boil it for a good amount of time
It's really tough. I think you can eat them technically, but it wouldn't be a very fun experience. The heart and the bottom of the leaves are more tender. :)
It is too fiberous. Out of laziness I do try to eat all the leave, but it is really hard to swallow. However, it has some inner thin young leaves and I do eat them whole
You can either steam or boil an artichoke and dip it with just plain butter or what you seen in this video. I don’t know any other ways but if anyone knows please tell me 😅
Either! Thery make a great light lunch on their own, or pair with any protein for a bulkier meal. I think they make a great side for just about everything.
You can try making stuffed artichokes. Mix some spices, rice, minced beef, onions, garlic and cilantro and stuff the leaves. Then cook it in a pot with water and enjoy
I’ve never had them fresh but (in my opinion) they have a savory-bitter vegtable taste like a way more mild/savory olive/caiper mixed with asparagus. And a lot of it is what sauce its with too which is usually lemon and garlicy which adds a lot too they’re pretty good
My grandma always made them with just breadcrumbs and Parmesan and steamed em. No oil or anything, no trimming, just spread the leaves and place the fillings. Little salt on the heart, lets you taste it in its purest form. This method looks tasty too though!
Im wondering about trying these but i am quite a picky eater, would you recommend them? Just wondering :] (If you explained the taste that would also be awesome but you don't have to)
Here we eat them raw and there's also a meal that we make of them by opening it up and taking the heart clean it and put the cleaned hearts in a baking pan add homemade red sauce over them then add ground beef cooked with shredded onions in every single one of them then bake until they're read and you can serve they with white rice!

I'm sorry
Sorry for your loss, I hope you are doing better 🙏 ❤
I am so sorry for your loss❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wow looks amazing... Never had artichoke . But this looks appetizing. I'll definitely give it a try
Your voice sounds like a character from PBS, it's amazing and so nostalgic 💖🫶🏼
might just be me but they hardly like a PBS character, and a lot more like Jojp Siwa 💔
@@OhWowPacapo Jojo is way more raspy and insufferable, please don't insult this girl with that comparison

you are such a confident cook!
In Algeria we either just boil it and eat it with olive oil and lots of vinegar or we stuff the hearts with minced meat , rice and cinnamon and we cook it in sauce it's called dolma
Yesss it’s so delicious!!!!
Im algerian and theres also the stew with the heart only cleaned out with peas potatoes and meat of your choosing
They are good, but they are more work than they are worth. You don’t get to eat very much of it.

Honestly one of the best voices on TH-cam - gosh I wish you did hour long videos. ❤️
I’m a pretty fearless cook… But I’ve always found artichokes intimidating. This is the most excellent way to overcome that fear! Great recipe!
My family would always dip each bite in butter lolll
There was this one time I went to my cousins house and they gave me an artichoke and just dipping butter to try. It was so good. 😊
Oh wow that looks so delicious
Brings back fond memories as this is exactly as my Mom used to make for us every week or two.
I’ve never had an artichoke or even seen one, why do you have to scrape the meat off the leaves? Why not eat the whole leaf?
It's really tough. I think you can eat them technically, but it wouldn't be a very fun experience. The heart and the bottom of the leaves are more tender. :)
Only the meat on the leaf tastes good.
It is too fiberous. Out of laziness I do try to eat all the leave, but it is really hard to swallow. However, it has some inner thin young leaves and I do eat them whole
I need this absolutely right now omg
I love love love artichokes. They're so good. I always dip mine in garlic butter
I love artichokes, and now I feel like I've been making them wrong forever now! Gonna try this
I’ve been watching a lot of videos people do it differently so I don’t know what’s the wrong way and what’s the right way? 🤷🏻♀️
Your way of explaining and that voice is extra woowwww🎉
In the Middle East, we eat only the heart of the artichokes and I am in love with it .
We cook it with different way but I like this too ❤
So Greek this style artichokes ❤❤
Hello from Italy
Finally someone is not wasting 90 % of it
every time i come across one of your videos i’m in love with what u do ❤you’re so cute 🥰
They're SO good. This is pretty similar to how I've had mine for years! (:
Oh that is so different than how we stuff our artichokes in New Orleans! But also looks delicious!!
Artichok is amazing...I just love it❤...
I make those little different, I use butter instead of oil. Would steam for a little before stuffing. After stuffing then steam again.
I just like them steamed lol. This is delicious as well, just more work than I personally wanna do for a good artichoke.
Can you steam or boil a artichoke and just dip it in butter?
@@xxtiffanylexx For sure! Most people I know do it that way, or dip it in whatever they prefer.
@@twitchy_bird the video cut up it off the top when you steam or boil it you don’t really have to do or do you?
my step dad is part Italian and this is how he makes it its so good i remember the first time i had it 🤤
Wow! I love this 😍
Your voice is so calming
You're the reason why I want to be a personal chef when I'm older
That’s how I ate them growing up too but with breadcrumbs in the mix as well. So tasth
I eat them in a very different way but I think this is really good so I’m gonna try it sometime
We had these we baked theme this same recipe goodness looks great
The stems are just as good as the heart you just need to peel them first
I legit just steam em, no need for all of that, although it looks delicious, as long as it’s cooked it’s good just find what you like to dip it in
this is how my mom makes it she always took leftover bread, crumbled it, and tossed it in the oven with some oil and herbs from the garden so good
Is it like a snack or side? Really wanna make it but what do I combine it with, ideas?

I always wonder who first started to eat this. Just like any other food. And yes. I would love to try this artichoke.
The auctioneer to artichoke recipes.
we just steamed them and dipped them in aioli. this looks bomb
Ive never been intimidated by a frikking artichoke
This looks soooo good💙💙💙😋
I bet that left over broth mixture would make some great risotto. Or thats what i wouldve done.
We eat it like that in Turkey, but we fill, if we fill it, with rice and fava beans etc instead of parmigiano
Peel and put the stalk in the pot… Taste amazing.
I like your voice sister 😊😊😊
You can try making stuffed artichokes. Mix some spices, rice, minced beef, onions, garlic and cilantro and stuff the leaves. Then cook it in a pot with water and enjoy
Kalo di liat teksturnya mirip jantung pisang, coba di masak gini apa ya😂😂😂
As a kid, I would not eat any green foods. Not even green colored noodles. Artichokes were the one exception. I have always loved them.
Blooming artichokes
Looks yummy
You sound exactly like Moira Brown from Fallout 3
I can't unhear it now lol. Now just replace artichoke with radroach.
we made artichoke relish to go on a sandwich in my garde manger (idk how spell) clas
They way I would die of hunger with this in my hand
Looks SS Tier gonna have to try that shit famo
Honestly… too much work for licking little bits off
You make me want to eat healthy (I'm extremely picky, possibly like a mental thing idk) I want to eat like everything you make
I'm trying to go to your restaurant!
Yummmm
It's like buying a whole car for just a tyre 😂😂😂
😛😛😋😋😋❤
“Half an inch off the top”
Girl that was an inch and a half. You must be a hairstylist 😂
I might sound stupid, but the only way I know these is from the comic book series, I forgot the name tho
Saya kira ikan pas di akhir video
Will not try but looks pretty good
I feel the same way about artichokes that I do about a whole Lotta different types of shellfish. A whole Lotta work or not a whole Lotta meat.
Lactose intolerant people gonna love this one 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥

what kind of stock? veg?
why is this the second artichoke vid ive seen this week? why does the internet want me to eat artichokes???
why does her voice sounds like jojo siwa 😭
How much is a “part” eg 2 parts of something
What broth did you use?
My family seasons with pepper, onion powder, garlic powder steams it then eats it with mayo
From where I live, 1liter olive oil costs more than whole chicken or beef
Nothing about this is super easy
What about this is hard? Like, I get that difficulty is subjective, but I genuinely can't see any hard part of this recipe.
First time I had them was in a Mediterranean Risotto. They where kind of sour
JoJo Siwa voice over hits different
you sound exactly like brenda song
They are VERY EASY to cook, and EXTREMELY HARD to prepare cooking.
How does it taste?
The only artichokes I have eaten are artichokes fritters from my favorite restaurant
as an asian this Is an exotic food lol how it doesn’t
There's an artichoke in your oil and cheese
How do you like your Hexclad pans??
My grandma always made them with just breadcrumbs and Parmesan and steamed em. No oil or anything, no trimming, just spread the leaves and place the fillings. Little salt on the heart, lets you taste it in its purest form. This method looks tasty too though!
what stock I need to add?
When it's done?
Im wondering about trying these but i am quite a picky eater, would you recommend them? Just wondering :] (If you explained the taste that would also be awesome but you don't have to)
Best I have had is in the Jewish quarter of rome
Here we eat them raw and there's also a meal that we make of them by opening it up and taking the heart clean it and put the cleaned hearts in a baking pan add homemade red sauce over them then add ground beef cooked with shredded onions in every single one of them then bake until they're read and you can serve they with white rice!

Help why can i smell it through the screen now im hungry
Yu Orphan🤣🤣
I thought this was Alex from tasty
So it's just a reason to eat "oil" !
