I just want to say you've helped me rediscover my love baking I've made the pitta bread several times. Am disabled and use a mixer to do the heavy lifting and your easy to follow vids and recipes on your site re ignited my love baking as a child so a huge thank you. Xxx
No, your cell phone can hear you, true story. Sometimes when I'm talking about something, Google searches what I'm talking about, without pressing any buttons.
Apple Fritters are my absolute favorite donut-equivalent. Just so good. I liek to make my glaze with apple cider instead of milk or water so it reinforces the apple flavor. Lemon juice icing is a great idea, but also something I already use for Bread Pudding.
John I have to thank you. I made this and my family was over the moon. They were like telling me it's kinda like having a zeppoli and a donut with apples. The recipe is easy and delicious but not too sweet. Thank you 🫰🏼💜
Over here, at least, here in Western Australia, an apple fritter is made in the exact same way as an onion ring, you peel the apple, core the apple, slice the apple into doughnut style rings, dip into batter, then cook in deep fryer.
I went to the Bethlehem fair hear in CT this past Saturday. I was excited about the apple fritters and was left wanting. I will most definitely try out this recipe.
So many apples from our trees, so making pies, apple butter, made the apple cobbler from this channel (delish!), freezing, apple pies, now today, making apple fritters. Using peanut oil to fry. Will post back with results. Cobbler was so good. I am making it again for a friends bday with hopefully a side of fritters.
Hi John, you work so hard……you give us all so many amazing tips and tricks on every video and I personally thank you for it….. we’re all better bakers and cooks because of you…. xx❤xx
Something to try. but I need people around me (post-secondary aged kids!) I LOVE your cookbook. Batting 1000 and whomever I have cooked for asks for the recipe! I have already purchased another copy for a Christmas gift. I'm thinking another or even two more copies is on the list! Thank you, John!
🎉I can’t wait to try these! Apple fritters are my Dad’s favorite ❤️ I’ll be making these for him for sure. Thanks for sharing such a good looking recipe!
Well done for your achievement I'm very greatful for everthing may the lord lead your way ND keep on growing.stay bless with your family nd much appreciated you made your Mom proud 👏
Thanks for another wonderful recipe. Any chance you’d do a maple bar recipe? I can’t for the life of me find a good recipe and those and apple fritters are the best IMO. Appreciate you!
🍎 WOW! They look so good. I'm new at baking, and this recipe seems very easy to try. With my hubby loving apple pie, I think he would also love apple fritters just as much. This is just the right time for this recipe, because we just went apple picking. I have a question for you or anyone willing to help..Could I use vanilla paste instead of the liquid vanilla, and is there any difference in the vanilla? Thank you for sharing this recipe that even a new baker could do.
omg just bought 2 of these and was thinking, I wish I had a recipe to make these myself! Thanks PK! And I guess you can make zeppoles following this recipe minus the apples and cinnamon and using plain powdered sugar instead of c. sugar or icing.
One year, during raspberry picking season, a local grocery with a bakery made raspberry fritters using fresh whole raspberries. While apple fritters are my favorite donut-like pastry, the raspberry fritters were EVEN BETTER. At least, to me. That baker must have moved on, and I haven't seen raspberry fritters since. Preppy Kitchen host, I hope you give raspberry fritters a try, and if you make it work, show us in another video.
i love you r recipes. Your banana bread( as mini muffins ) is my agenda for this Thursday's Pot Luck. The chicken enchiladas are delicious and i make them often Strawberry pie was a big hit this summer. BUT I live alone and making a full recipe of fritters would be a disaster for my diet. Sad that they dont last long after making. I DO have a tiny air fryer though. I hoping half a recipe will work. THANKS for all you do , John. Ive been fan for years now.
Peel and cut 2 apples into small pieces. Mix lemon juice. Take 0.5 cup flour, 3 tbsp sugar, 2.5 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 0.5 tsp cinnamon. Mix in a bowl. Take 3/4 cup milk, 2 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla extract. Mix in a bowl. Mix two mixtures. Pour the apples. Fry it in shape of fritters. For dry dip, take 1 cup sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon powder. Mix in a bowl. For wet dip/drizzle, take 2 cups sugar, 3-4 tbsp milk/lemon juice, 0.5 tsp vanilla, mix. Dip the fritters in dry and wet mixtures. Done.

Baking is a universal love language.
This video popped up just after I came back from the store with a big bagful of apples. Is it a sign? (Yes it is❤)
lol! Yes, I would say it’s a sign 😊

A nice maple butter glaze would be yum too.
First time making these and my family, friends loved them so much! This is definitely the perfect recipe absolutely amazing!
I always grate the apples (using the largest holes)...the pieces of apple are thin and small and cook perfectly in the finished product.
Thank you for that...
Interesting I might try that with a batch to experiment vs the chopping I’m not the best chopper
Ooooh! My favorite! They look so good and craggy. I love that! Thanks, John…
Yummy. Thank you for sharing your recipe. 💕
Very nice job John.. I agree with you on adding the lemon or vanilla glaze.
John I have to thank you. I made this and my family was over the moon. They were like telling me it's kinda like having a zeppoli and a donut with apples. The recipe is easy and delicious but not too sweet. Thank you 🫰🏼💜

This explains why my peach fritters didn’t cook great. The steaming and the size and a smush. So glad to have found you.
I make these delicious fritters both ways - with the icing and the brown sugar mixture. My family and friends love them.
You have the best recipes and you explain them very nicely.
